22.01.2022 Working on a pop banger for the @crawfordbrothers today! These are my mix bus compressor settings I dialed in and am really liking for this particular song. I normally stick with a ratio of 2:1 with a faster release. But 4:1 is controlling the peaks nicely and the slow release is letting the kick pump the mix in a pleasing way Always worth trying different settings on the old mix bus compressor - dont be a set and forgetter

14.01.2022 New Mac is set up and ready to roll! This bad boys specs are pimped out and runs silky smooth! Excited to put it through its paces :) I opted to do a clean install over using time machine migration, I really wanted to only bring over the stuff that I use and leave all the junk behind! But it took me a long time to download and install everything.. logging back into the so many software websites I had long forgotten my passwords for haha glad its all done

06.01.2022 Slapping some RECH Cymbals! This is the inferno complex range. 14 hats, 18 and 19 crashes, 22 ride and a sneaky 18 inferno dry China up the back. I really like how explosive the crashes are and how smooth the ride and hats sound in this series. I’ve mixed the kit but I’ve left the overheads virtually untouched to give a true representation of the cymbals tones. Let me know what you think!?

05.01.2022 Running a studio, raising two kids, trying to juggle a healthy work to life balance is tough! Something Im still trying to figure out! Its so important to find time to get away from work and spend time with your family, it also gives you time to clear your mind and come back to your projects fresh after a day or two off. For me, I know when Im feeling exhausted, I struggle to approach mixing with a clear mind! Us studio heads stay up late many nights working to the early hours, sleep a few hours and are up at the crack of dawn to make kids breakfast (thats me anyway), but I recommend when that feeling of tiredness hits you, just go to bed youll be better for it the next day

01.01.2022 Here is a little demo of the Inferno Dark series from @rech_cymbals. I really love how these cymbals sounds. They are a bit brighter than the complex series - nice and shimmery without any harshness. A great all rounder in my opinion! What do you think?
