25.01.2022 Aboriginal elders watch as final chain is removed from #Uluru. In a quiet moment, without the crush of media that attended the Climb Closure two weeks ago, #Ulu...ru elders accept the final chain to be removed from the Rock, from the very top of the old climb. Nellie Patterson, Reggie Uluru, Yuka Trigger, Johnny Jingo and Malya & Awalari Teamay visit the base of Uluru to watch the final piece of the chain coming off the Rock. One of the women was heard saying: "Now Uluru is free of chains, were free too". 23.01.2022 After handing over the last section of chain to Anangu elders in the morning, there was just one last sunset heli lift of tools and equipment from the top of the climb. Thanks again to @ayersrockhelicopters for their expertise! Time for us to get out of the way and back home

22.01.2022 Uluru Unchained About half a ton of cement-filled posts and one ton of chain will have been removed from #Uluru by the end of today at Uluu-Kata Tjua Nationa...l Park, after the climb closed permanently on 25 October. 20.01.2022 Heres to these two! We finished removing the handrail posts today and these guys have been on their hands and knees the whole way up, cutting posts, drilling out the cores and milling the remaining steel below the surface for most of the last 2 weeks. Every last bit of dust and steel swarf has been vacuumed up and the holes filled with caps made from sorry rocks returned to the park by past visitors. Just a couple of days of cleaning up to go, before the last of the tools and materials get flown off from the top and we hit the road. Its been a real journey and were all feeling pretty foot-sore and weary. Ready for a swim and some days off!

19.01.2022 For those interested in what we get up to in the mountains, check out the SpireXPD Facebook page. Heading off for the next big objective on Monday!

19.01.2022 Matt from @prolecsolutions lending us a hand to move a LED billboard control box to a new location. Tricky job in the most visible of locations! Thanks to Outdoor Elements for trusting us with the work. @ UniLodge on Flinders

11.01.2022 Field testing in between snow flurries, rushing to get done ahead of the storm arriving!

11.01.2022 Uluru update. Its been a challenging start, coming to terms with the heat, dust, wind and flies but weve had a great first week with lots of progress. The summit cairn has been dismantled, the materials flown off and the location remediated. Luke is busily reconstructing it now, down on the ground. Over half of the chain has been removed (about half a ton down our rope highline and straight into the back of the truck). Weve begun removing posts and getting lots of support and cheers from traditional owners and tourists alike. Big thanks to @ayersrockhelicopters for their professionalism and skill with the helicopter logistics. #newdawn #uluru @ Uluu-Kata Tjua National Park

10.01.2022 Weve been quiet on social media of late but very busy behind the scenes. Last week was a big one! From safety netting a Collins St construction site, concrete repairs in Collingwood, netting a roof replacement in Campbellfield, replacing lighting at NICA in Prahran, 20 story duct riser inspections in West Melbourne to a rope drop at Yallourn power station. Phew! But theres bigger news on the horizon... Stay tuned!

Its been a tough gig and Im proud of, and grateful for, the effort that the guys have put in. A well deserved break coming up before we come back for the second half.

04.01.2022 So, either this is a post-apocalyptic industrial crucifixion or its Clav and Tim stringing fall protection netting for a storm-damage re-roofing. Either way, it was a big Saturday! #crucifixion #doublebubble #fallprotection

04.01.2022 Ulurus final chain: Tim Le and Mark Clavarino of SPIRE Solutions remove the final chain from the top of the old climb. The remaining posts and equipment were a...ir-lifted by chopper at sunset. Tonight, for the first time in decades, #Uluru sleeps beneath a moonlit sky, with no posts, cairn or chains casting a shadow on its flanks. 03.01.2022 OK, so after a long build up, months of preparation and many miles under the wheels, the crew is all here. Looking forward to the celebration tonight and then cracking on with the job. Cant wait!

01.01.2022 Out of reach for the crane, with bird netting overhead and a low hanging SHS beam in the way.... Whip some handrail out of the way, assemble our aluminium gantry and some sneaky rigging to get the load in place. Put it all back together and youd never know wed been there!

01.01.2022 A couple of weeks have passed since Spire team members Dave & Mark made a coveted ascent of the Ice Window route on Mt Kenya, still riding the high! Seems a shame to have to go back to work....
