19.01.2022 The words of Susan Sontag (1972), nearly 50 years ago and still relevant to today. "Women have another option. They can aspire to be wise, not merely nice:to be competent, not merely helpful; to be strong, not merely graceful; to be ambitious for themselves, not merely for themselves in relation to men and children. They can let themselves age naturally and without embarrassment, actively protesting & disobeying the conventions that stem from this society's double standard about ageing. Instead of being girls, girls as long as possible, who then age humiliatingly into middle-aged women, they can become women much earlier-and remain active adults, enjoying the long, erotic career of which women are capable, far longer. Women should allow their faces to show the lives they have lived. Women should tell the truth."

14.01.2022 THOUGHT FOR TODAY: 10 Facts Every Woman Should Know~~ 1. Everyone has rolls when they bend over. 2. When someone tells you that you're beautiful, believe them. ...They aren't lying. 3. Sometimes we all wake up with breath that could kill a goat. 4. For every woman unhappy with her stretch marks is another woman who wishes she had them. 5. You should definitely have more confidence. And if you saw yourself the way others see you, you would. 6. Don't look for a man to save you. Be able to save yourself. 7. It's okay to not love every part of your body....but you should. 8. We all have that one friend who seems to have it all together. That woman with the seemingly perfect life. Well, you might be that woman to someone else. 9. You should be a priority. Not an option, a last resort, or a backup plan. 10. You're a woman. That alone makes you pretty damn remarkable.~ ~Mary L. Leonard

06.01.2022 "In your 'hag' years, because you kept the plates spinning, you have a rich retirement." Author Caitlin Moran told ABC The Drum middle age for women doesn't have to be a time of boredom - in fact, there's so much to look forward to.

06.01.2022 Despite the fact that all women experience it at some point, many feel blindsided and surprised by the symptoms of menopause. How supported have you felt in your own experience, whether it’s from health professionals, your family and friends, and at work?

01.01.2022 Menopause is a sacred time in a women’s life where she gives birth to her new self. It’s her second fertility where she becomes more of who she is, fertile in potential, new ideas and self-expression as she labours and nurtures her way through this uncomfortable and turbulent stage. Menopause is a mysterious and powerful time when a woman may feel like she is trying to navigate a foreign land her changing body. She is met with the discomfort of night sweats, hot flushes, fa...tigue, mood swings and weight gain to name a few. Her hormones right now are like sacred messengers inviting her to go inward, to treasure her time alone to explore the woman she is becoming. She may be haunted by such questions as, who am I, what do I want and how do I get there? Her biology right now is grabbing her attention not because she is unwell but because she is in a process of rebirth (in mind, body and spirit). Alchemy is going on, hormones are changing and so is she. Can she appreciate that her menopause journey can be likened to her pregnancy? A time she remembered as all consuming. She needed time to rest and nest, unclutter and take care of herself. It was a sacred time where she instinctively went inward, conserving energy to grow the baby within her womb whilst trusting in the wisdom of Mother Nature. As a woman transitioning menopause can you embrace the notion that you are symbolically pregnant? The gift of menopause beyond its chaos and discomfort gives birth to a new emerging self. Welcome this phase with self-compassion and selfcare, remembering it’s not about loss it’s all about gain. The menopause transition can be hard labour but it’s the stuff to fertilize the next phase of your life. That’s worth honourin
