23.01.2022 CARD-of-the-WEEK Week 29 SUNDAY January 24, 2021 Today’s card is the Nine of Pentacles from the Robin Wood deck. On the surface this card is about the material world abundance, wealth, opulence, and satiety, self-reliance, self-sufficiency, and self-mastery. The opulently-dressed woman in her bountiful garden is depicted alone, apart from the falcon, and she is fine with that. She understands herself completely. She exhibits supreme confidence, self-control, and self-disc...Continue reading
22.01.2022 CARD-of-the-WEEK Week 28 SUNDAY January 17, 2021 Today’s card is The Waiting Game from John Holland’s The Psychic Tarot Oracle deck. This card is the equivalent of the Two of Wands in standard Tarot decks. From the book accompanying the deck: This card indicates that you’ve worked hard to set things in motion in certain areas of your life, and you’re now waiting for the results to come to fruition. The number 2 is all about choice and decision. In the past you may have bee...Continue reading
22.01.2022 Biden is the 46th President of the USA. Trump was the 45th. 45 in numerology is 9. 9 represents the end of a cycle. 46 in numerology is 1. 1 represents the beginning of the next cycle. Biden's was the 59th Inauguration. 59 in numerology is 14, which is reduced to 5. 5 is a number of changes, challenges, travel, and freedom. (45) - In the Tarot, 9 is The Hermit. This card is all about introspection, reflection, and seeing what is deep inside. If we don't like what we see we n...eed to change what we are. (46) - In the Tarot, we look at two numbers - 10 and 1. (4 + 6 = 10) 10 reduces to 1. The two cards are The Magician and the Wheel of Fortune. The Magician (1) is about taking all we have and utilising it for the best purposes. The Magician is the link between the world of the flesh and the world of the Divine. The Magician has everything he needs at his fingertips: the four suits (Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles) and their associated elements (Fire, Water, Air and Earth). The Wheel of Fortune (10) is about the cycle of life, the ups and downs we all endure, good and bad luck, yin and yang. "To everything, turn, turn, turn, there is a season, turn, turn, turn, and a time for every purpose, under heaven." (Turn, Turn, Turn by Pete Seeger) - See full lyrics below. (59) - In the Tarot , we look at two numbers - 14 and 5. (5 + 9 = 14/Temperance. 1 + 4 = 5/The Hierophant. The Hierophant (5) represents tradition, sound advice, and conventional wisdom. The Hierophant is the guide, the guiding hand. Temperance (14) represents a need to blend opposing ideals and ideas into a workable whole. It is about compromise and negotiation. It is about balance and harmony. It is the ability to straddle a great divide with aplomb. Make of this what you will. Full lyrics for Turn, Turn, Turn - "To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time to every purpose, under heaven A time to be born, a time to die. A time to plant, a time to reap A time to kill, a time to heal A time to laugh, a time to weep. To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time to every purpose, under heaven. A time to build up, a time to break down A time to dance, a time to mourn A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together. To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time to every purpose, under heaven. A time of love, a time of hate A time of war, a time of peace A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing. To everything (turn, turn, turn) There is a season (turn, turn, turn) And a time to every purpose, under heaven. A time to gain, a time to lose A time to rend, a time to sew A time for love, a time for hate A time for peace, I swear it's not too late."
21.01.2022 CARD-of-the-WEEK Week 27 SUNDAY, January 10, 2021 Today’s card is The Fool from the Robin Wood deck. As I still have not heard from the creator of the deck that I was hoping to use I have decided to resume cards from various Tarot decks I have. I chose the Robin Wood deck today because it was on the table in plain sight. That The Fool showed itself did not surprise me in the least.... The Fool stands for new beginnings, trusting the process of life, and the many paths that beckon. It can represent innocence, chaos, or heedlessness. With this card, there is a need to stay grounded despite itchy feet and the need to get moving. The Fool can represent our youthful innocence, our naïve self or soul, as we set off upon our journey of life. The Fool can reflect what we need to know as we traipse along. There will be times when we need to heed the message of the barking dog, and there will be times when we need to step from the cliff onto new and uncertain paths with faith and optimism. The Fool differs from other cards of the Major Arcana in that it is numbered 0 and can slot in anywhere, at any time. We can wipe the slate clean and start anew, or step into the unknown at any stage of our journey. This creates new and limitless possibilities. The Fool depicts the beginning of a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment for the journey he invites us to follow can go by different names: initiation, walkabout, vision quest, pilgrimage. The Fool’s journey can, at times, seem perilous indeed. The Fool can also lead us to ‘dead ends’ despite the ‘lofty heights’ we aspired to at the onset of our travels. The Fool is an enigma. He is the spirit of the Tarot at its highest level of curiosity and initiative. He is unencumbered innocence, poised on the edge of a precipice, unaware of the danger that may lie ahead. The Fool is the embodiment of our search for truth and for all that is ideal in the world. The Fool has no beginning and no end. The Fool carries with him all the knowledge gained in the past (the contents of his backpack) but his lesson is to live in the present in the NOW moment. To be truly one with the universe we sometimes must let go of our fears and encumbrances and just BE. Like the Fool, someone may be so busy daydreaming of what ‘might be’ that they ignore what is real. It may be time for them to listen to that watchful little dog, which might be a concerned friend or relative, a Tarot reader or clairvoyant, or their own intuition. There is a resurgence of COVID infections world-wide with the ultra-virulent mutant strains taking over the original strain. Hubris, Greed, Ignorance, Arrogance, and Idiocy have given this new strain all it needs to replicate more rapidly and with dire consequences. By all means, set upon your journey of life but be willing to acknowledge the necessity of heeding warning signs.
03.01.2022 We are all on our respective journeys, and we will all eventually come to a crossroads. We can continue along the straight path we're on or decide to take one of those intersecting paths. If we choose to continue along the original path we will invariably reach a dead end. From there, we can either go back, ignoring those paths that intersected the crossroads, travelling back along the same path, going over all the same bumps, skirting the same obstacles, dodging the same po...tholes. In doing this we may learn something more about ourselves, but not really enough to further our journey, for retracing our steps is really a wasted exercise. At this point we realise that we must choose one of those intersecting paths and begin a new journey. In time, our new path will lead to yet another crossroads where we will have yet another decision to make. Do we go on, exploring more of what lies ahead, some of which may appear to be overgrown and rarely used, or do we retrace our steps yet again? On returning to that second crossroads we can choose to take yet another pathway, to yet more unknown territory. The choice is ours and ours alone. There is no guide book. However, there are markers along the way. In some stretches, we may meet other travelers to pass the time with. When we find ourselves lost there will always be a light bearer, someone to show us glimpses of the journey ahead. So we thank the light bearer and continue.
