22.01.2022 It’s Work on yourself Wednesday Today see if you can wake up early! Waking up before your alarm clock is a good way to start the day with enthusiasm. ... Ever notice how when you wait until the alarm goes off in the morning you just kind of drag yourself out of bed? Waking up early will not only will not only give you extra time to wake up on your own, it will help you start the day on your terms. Waking up to an alarm is not a good way to start the day on your own terms. My advice would be to go to bed as early as possible so your body automatically knows when it’s time to wake up.

20.01.2022 On the work on yourself Wednesday the advice i give is this.... Never speak ill of anyone!! Yes, people will hurt you, disappoint you, frustrate you... You, you, you!! Where’s the part where you take responsibility for the way you feel? ... Speaking ill of someone is not a good reflection on ourselves. Mum used to say if we don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything, i get it now.

Adversity cancels out fear. If someone with a disability like myself were to be fearful every time something scary happened they would have no time to actually enjoy life. Fear is more frightened of you than you are of it.

Wrong!!!... Our feelings only get hurt when we hear something we don’t want to hear. Sure if someone is throwing insults at you, you don’t have to listen to that. But if you ask someone that loves you i’m sure that won’t be the case. Constructive criticism is a good thing. Stop getting your nose outta joint every time someone criticises you.
18.01.2022 To do Tuesday... eccentric . A person of unconventional and slightly strange views or behaviour.... HAHAHAHAHA HA! This apparently is the definition of eccentric in the dictionary. Nothing about how everyone sees things from a different perspective that another may not understand, Nothing about creative freedom!! People that are eccentric are just weird, is that it? No! Everyone has eccentricities or quirks therefore everyone is weird. Eccentric or slightly strange is a matter of opinion, and what do we do with opinions that are not constructive? I’ll leave that up to your imagination. I’ll give you an example and this happens to be one of my quirks... I can’t eat a sandwich that has been cut down the middle. I’m sorry but when push comes to shove a rectangle is just half a square, i can’t brain that. Cutting a sandwich on the diagonal however does give us two triangles, so i can deal in that instance. Point is that to be eccentric is not slightly strange, unconventional yes, but strange no. People are not weird for doing things their own way that weird to others but works for them and people that think it’s weird for someone to be themselves need to deal with their own self esteem issues and limiting beliefs. We are who we are folks, and it’s none of anyone’s damn business. Joel hereby gives you permission to go forth and be weird.... Proceed!!

15.01.2022 Thursday thoughts.... What is fear? I mean really, what is it? I ask y’all this twice because fear is not as simple as being frightened or anxious about facing what’s in front of us.... Fears like clowns, Spiders, Snakes or even Commitment and Failure are not as straight forward as they seem. They are a thought!! What goes into a thought? I once thought i would take this to my grave but you wanna know what my biggest fear is? Being left alone with my thoughts. Not because i think messed up thoughts when left alone or anything like that, it’s because i know the power my thoughts have over me. Your thoughts will lead you up the creek without a paddle if you let them. Believe me, thought turns into visualisation, visualisation turns into one of two things. Either your thoughts help you be productive by visualising your potential, or they help you visualise your potential flying around in the ceiling fan. A thought can be as simple as... What if i start a business doing what i love and are good at? You decide what’s next... Do you get excited and put the wheels in motion, or do you let the wheels fall off?
14.01.2022 On this To Do Tuesday, STOP COMPLAINING. Are you one of those humans that Complains about how life dealt you a bad hand, You complain about how everyone and everything is against you. Stop finding things to complain about!!! Complaining just keeps you stuck in that place of self pity. ... Once you accept your circumstances whatever they may be, you can move on from there. Believe me i have things to complain about!! But I don’t and I’m actually grateful for those things because they have made me a better version of myself. Today’s hardship is tomorrow’s blessing, stop complaining.
14.01.2022 Face your Fears Friday Fear is deceiving. Fear is that thought that we think is a thought, but really is that part of our imagination that visualises complete and utter chaos in the mind. ... Got your attention? Awesome!! See while the thoughts are a part of the imagination process, it is imagination that brings to fear if we let it. Why? Because we are visualising what we are afraid of!! In order to remain positive we have to use the creative resourceful part of our imagination and not the self destructive part that will ultimately burn all your hopes and dreams to the ground. Even as i write this being quite graphically descriptive of what fear is capable of if we let it off the leash, I’m painting a word picture. I’m being creative and using a resource to share said creativity in order to help others overcome their fears. Task for the day: Not saying all day because things need to be done. When you have some free time just sit there and remember(reminisce if you will) about when you were a child and you didn’t have life experience, you’re only resource was your imagination. 13.01.2022 It’s Friday superheroes, time to conquer those fears. Today Use your Imagination in Positive Ways, Use Your Brain in a Different Way than Usual and Practice Mindfulness. Stop visualising your fears in a negative way. Visualising your fears in a negative way allows them to keep hold of you. ... Instead when a fear comes up make friends with it, get to know it and question it. Why am I afraid of my fear? What specifically about my fear makes me shy away from confronting it? Getting to know yourself through your fears is a big step towards overcoming them. Also ask yourself, am i my biggest fear? Through limiting beliefs we put on ourselves the fear we manifest is only the thing we blame when we can’t conquer ourselves. In which case get to know yourself better, be present with yourself, be mindful of what triggers your emotions. Hold yourself accountable for you and take responsibility for how you feel.

This fine morning i’ve been thinking about anxiety, so i will give you 6 tips to become high functioning with anxiety, i use these everyday myself and they really work. How to be high functioning with anxiety 1. Recognize your symptoms for what they are. Identifying why we have the anxiety helps you better function with it and get things done.... 2. Make friends with your fear. Get to know your fears and embrace them like an old friend and your fears will be easier to cope with. 3. Reconnect with your body. Your body may be telling you to slow down a bit. Recognise when this happens and take things slow but by all means don’t stop all together. 4. Have a mantra, and use it every day. It may not be a mantra but even just a positive word or complimenting yourself can be something that gets you through the day. 5. Learn how to intervene with yourself. Regular check ins with yourself will keep things on the up and up. 6. Be kind to yourself. When you have high levels of anxiety you tend to be a little tough on yourself, right? Be kind to yourself, approach with compassion and empathy in order to ease yourself when things get too overwhelming. The world doesn’t owe you a favour!! ... Deep down we know when we get into a victim mindset our self esteem is low, we have limiting beliefs. How do we correct this behaviour? See being outside my comfort zone is actually my comfort zone, i know, ironic right? But it’s where i live. Stepping outside your comfort zone doesn’t mean throwing yourself head first in the deep end, allow yourself to dip your toes into whatever you do today and ease into it at your own pace. But ultimately the goal today is to venture outside your comfort zone and get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Once you get comfortable being uncomfortable you will no longer be uncomfortable and a whole world of possibilities will be available to you in abundance. Let’s do this!!

I didn’t even like to look at myself in the mirror. Fast forward a few years and after putting in time and effort with my own personal growth I realised something.... In order to be successful we have to first look the part.... If you look like a million bucks, you’ll feel like a million bucks and with that you will be on the road to making a million bucks. Life is a chain reaction, every move we make follows on from the last. With that we have to make decisions that will help us on our road to success. Dress for success today! If opportunity doesn’t come knocking, hey at least you will feel good.

First of all, y’all have heard the phrase knowledge is power. Reading inspires us. Tell me your brain doesn’t swim in inspiration while reading. What about fiction, you’re asking this are you not? Even with a made up story there is always an underlying message. Look for that underlying message and let the book make you think. Personally my imagination is at its best when I’m reading, this is why i love books.

04.01.2022 Fun Fact about me: I have Spina Bifida That’s not fun Joel, you’re saying. Oh but it is my friends, Oh But it is. ... My life has been both very eventful and a life that nightmares themselves would have nightmares about. Through it all I’ve learned to be very level headed in high pressure situations because i’ve had to be. The Spina Bifida has taught me to be resourceful because i have often had to find other ways to cater to my own abilities. I’ve certainly had to get creative from time to time because resources i’ve needed are not always available. Things have been out of my reach and in my way. People have looked at me funny. Guess what, i’ve even at one point in my life not been to fond of myself. Point is... I LOVE MY LIFE!!! Life is going to feel like one big mess from time to time, does that mean we stop enjoying life just because some stuff we find overwhelming happens? No it does not!! Strap yourself in and enjoy the ride. See it’s those forks in your road that we loathe that are actually taking you to a beautiful destination of self awareness, Gratitude and pure awesomeness. Every day you are becoming a better person than you were yesterday, every day you learn and grow, every day wiser, more intuitive, more resilient, stronger, more compassionate, empathetic, you’re becoming you. So stop fighting it! Let it happen. Grow through what you go through.

No, you’re constantly trying to keep track of which fear is connected to which limiting belief and it gets you all overwhelmed and you end up having an anxiety attack, right? ... Let me let you in on something... It’s alot easier to step outside your comfort zone. We just don’t know it because our fears have fooled us into thinking that venturing outside the safe zone isn’t safe. Let me tell you it’s not just safe, it’s quite magical. Take the leap, step outside your comfort zone and discover a world of possibilities.
