24.01.2022 1/10 - SELF BELIEF I know you can do it... you are amazing, let’s be amazing together! This phrase (or close to it) is used regularly in our pool. Developing a trusting relationship with our students is our priority ... Kids learn best in an engaging, interesting and encouraging environment. Collaboration, connection, and child led initiatives allow students to have an equal part in not just the relationship but it teaches empowerment, to take ownership and responsibility for their learning, which is a skill needed for life... So when you are sitting pool side and you hear us encouraging a student to take the plunge and try something new or have another go, give them a cheer so they know we all have their backs #splashswimsoar #childledlearning #relationshipsarekey #encouragement #connection #collaboration #ittakesavillage

19.01.2022 3/10 - CHILD LED LEARNING What is it? Simply put, child led learning allows our children with highly curious minds and grand ideas to put thoughts into practice ... Last week I had a mum approach me and said - isn’t it funny, my son is now telling the teacher to stand further away so he can try swimming out to her she was amazed at his confidence to ask outright. When the teacher stepped back and allowed the student to take charge of the activity, the result was amazing. He swam unassisted, achieved something he felt ready to tackle and everyone on the pool deck cheered. The atmosphere was electric! The beauty of your child learning to swim at Splash Swim Soar is that learning is done at their pace, we create an environment that is set up to encourage curiosity, build self confidence, and support fellow team mates every step of the way. Our children are not cookie cutters, they are not the same shape and size and therefore are not taught as if they are. #splashswimsoar #childledlearning #explore #curiosity #confidence #loveisalwaystheanswer

09.01.2022 2/10 - PROPULSION There are many ways to move forward Just as each child has their own unique personality with thoughts, opinions and ideas of their own, how they move through the water is ultimately up to personal interpretation of information ... Watching demonstrations, joining in discussions, allowing gentle physical manipulation and viewing other swimmers around them, our students can begin to understand the concept of moving efficiently through water by experimenting with their buoyancy (how well they stay on top of the water) By exploring propulsion in lessons, the bath or other swimming location students are developing their ideas of what works for them and what doesn’t. All that annoying splashing and water on the bathroom floor is actually really helpful! Our power to move forward comes from our work underwater, so regardless of how the kick or stroke looks like out of the water it’s how well pressure is applied below that really matters While we teach correct technique for each stroke from the beginning, the most important part of propulsion is that it can be used in any form students are comfortable with to self rescue in an accidental fall in! #splashswimsoar #propulsion #foundationskills #experiment #watersafety #bouyancycontrol #youdoyou

03.01.2022 Over the last term our girl Georgia has been completing her training hours to become a swimming instructor. Yesterday she completed her teaching assessment and past with flying colours As of Friday (her 17th birthday) she can be issued with her official qualification. It has been a pleasure teaching and guiding her, and Mia and I are going miss having her around on Tuesdays. Hopefully she will come and teach for us from time to time. #austswim #austswimteachers #teachingaskillforlife #splashswimsoar

02.01.2022 At Splash Swim Soar we aim to give charitably whenever we can We offer 7 Random Act of Kindness donations per term, we have a sponsor child called Tiara Grace from Indonesia (her photo is above the lolly stand) whom we support in gaining an education, and this year we are also adding the Good Samaritan Christmas appeal to this mix We would like to fill 4 shoe boxes by the end of October. If you would like to help us fill these boxes that would be absolutely amazing. A lis...t of things we can place in the boxes is listed in the 2nd photo. It’s as simple as a packet of lead pencils or a hand ball (something small). A basket for donations will be placed on the reception counter if you would like to drop something into it It’s not how much we give, it’s how much love we put into the giving Mother Theresa.

02.01.2022 Happy Birthday Bec! Thanks for being a wonderful member of our team
