15.01.2022 Here’s another work in progress ...tiger myrtle burl in an island style ocean scene with a thick clear resin over top to give depth and dimension and expose the burl edge. Justin has outdone himself with this one, it looks amazing in person This one was made to be a wall art, as it still has some transparency and glows with a backlight , what do you think??

13.01.2022 Sometimes good things come in BIG packages We are so excited!!!! Our new Bandsaw from @woodworkmachinery was delivered today! Bill and the team made it so easy, they loaded up our car with tools and had the bandsaw delivered only a couple of days later! 13.01.2022 Here is a freshly finished commission for one of my timber suppliers He has milled a lot of my slabs including this beautiful piece of camphor laurel This slab had several softer spots which needed to be removed but added to the look of the finished piece. Pearlecent white and silver marbled resin fill the voids and cracks. 10.01.2022 Thank you so much to everyone who came down to the Uptown Markets today It was a great day and we appreciate all your feedback on our Island Tiger Myrtle Centrepiece. We have finally made a decision on how it should be displayed and set it up with its own display stand. We can still add brackets for a wall hanging, if you so desire. Next Sunday we'll be at the Made With Love Markets at Park Beach Plaza - and we have even more new stock scheduled to be completed in time for the day!

09.01.2022 I thought I would provide a bit of insight into the process of making this resin and camphor laurel slab table top. I forgot to take pictures of the raw slab but I have a few of the rest of the steps so you should be able to get the gist of it. Pic 1: This is the back side of the slab after I used the router sled to take out any cupping. You can see on the right of the slab a small patch of rough sawn wood that I didn't shave off to see the contrast in the raw colour. This st...ep also included removing soft spots and bark which can be tedious. Pic 2: This is front side of the slab after being levelled and has had a protective coating just to keep the freshly exposed wood from warping. Pic 3: this is after the resin pour which was pearl white, ghost white and silver. I have already cleaned up any excess resin and if you look closely you will see 50+ little holes i have ground in the resin with my dremel to take out any bubbles and soft spots that have shown up in the slab since being in contact with the resin. The next step was to touch these up with more epoxy. Pic 4: This is after the patches in the epoxy have cured and were sanded off. The sanding is at 320 on this pic and I went up to 400grit to finish.
