24.01.2022 I scored an invite to Italian/ Pizza/ Pasta place Fratelli Pulcinella out at Gladesville . It was a cold and rainy night and I was looking forward to getting inside the warm restaurant - boy was I surprised on arrival haha. It was an outdoor venue operating a wood-fired pizza oven on wheels and an exceptional caravan making pasta! They had set up wet weather coverings and we huddled up next to the pizza oven. The guys have been in their location for 3yrs for a perman...ent location and they have to take it all down and put it all up daily. 23.01.2022 Having fun with Red Rooster!! Give foodies Burgers, Rolls, Chicken and Cheese and they will have a lot of fun and create some awesome content!! Red Rooster was awesome fun and super tasty, I left soooooooooo full. ... Food Coma Eats The Wolf Of Eat Street Lickyourphone and myself were given free access to see what we could create from the menu The quad burger enveloped in cheese was my fave - and the rolls are awesome. They have great selection of sauces which were all tried and liked. The fries are delicious and the Chicken Pops are insane - I could eat a bucket of them!! Give them a try! 23.01.2022 We had an epic burger lunch out at Nash Big Brother Burgers on Saturday - friend Elliot joined me for a burger buffet of awesome!! We both had the same favourite burger and it was the BBQ BOURBON BRISKET - there was no competition - it was that good - the best burger I've eaten this year. SLOW COOKED BEEF BRISKET, JALAPEÑO, BACON, BUTTERMILK ONION RINGS, SMOKEY CHEESE, SMOKEY SAUCE.... Perfection!!! 19.01.2022 I got to go to my happy place this week, Strathfield Red Pepper in Strathfield Sports Club for the single best fried chicken EVERRRRRRRRR!! The Snow Cheese Fried Chicken is astounding!! And all the rest is AMAZING!! We ordered soooo much, leftovers for days hahaha ... : Seafood Pancake Tender Long Chicken Khan Poong Gangjung Snow Cheese Chicken Incredible Gangjung As usual, the Snow Cheese Chicken was perfection!! 19.01.2022 Face melting, Squid Ovaries and Eggs, and my favourite dish was a Morning Glory Salad!! Sounds like the start of a new season of Where's The Food? !!! We've started filming an interesting new concept - fucked up food that makes you go ewwwww. Think Balut, Bugs, Things that make you squirm. ... And our first venue was Bangkok Restaurant for a dish of Squid Ovaries and Eggs. And it was actually delicious - I really couldn't taste any major variations from just easting squid. DISHES WE ATE Lotus stem with stinky fish sauce Pork Bone Mountain Sexy People Morning Glory More Morning Glory Squid Eggs and Ovaries Chicken Feet Hotpot More Chicken Feet Hotpot An amazing Taro Dessert For me, because the squid didn't weird me out - it was all about spice level for me - I can eat a fair bit of spice but the Lotus Steam had me in a whole lot of hot spicy hell! And then Chicken Feet - best broth but Chicken Feet belong on Chicken or anywhere not near my plate!! Seriously there is more effort required in eating them than in cooking them, as you have to pull out every toe bone - errrrkkkkk. The Morning Glory salad is divine - crispy morning glory and wonderful flavours, and the Mountain of Pork Bones are exceptional - they are soon to release this - it's about $40 and will keep you and your friends going for a while, epic!! This is one of the best Thai Restaurants I have eaten at - it's truly authentic Thai food plus some that only Thai people can handle haha. 18.01.2022 Manly Beachfront nightlife is slowly waking and what better way to celebrate than with a Raclette night at Hemingway's Manly . It's superb - For $45 / per person you can enjoy Raclette with charcuterie, potatoes & salad & Dame Blanche (dessert). The tables are beautifully lamp-lit and with all the French food it's quite the romantic venue. It was a romantic night for all the couples excluding Oni and I hahaha ... 17.01.2022 You've gotta love pink for the next month at Daniel San It's Daniel San's Cherry Blossom Festival at the moment and with the roof adorned with a million fake cherry blossoms, it's looking great!! I got to take one of my oldest friends, Tjinta, (first pic) and we had Pink Cocktails (amazing), Pink Lotus Blossom Chips, Pink Pork Bao Buns, Sakura Okonomiyaki (not pink and my fave!) and a Sakura Smoked Salmon Roll (very pink). We also had some wine - that wasn't pink.... The only downside is you have to vacate in 90min. I picked up a menu to order dessert when this waiter came by and said "just letting you know you must leave in 15min," we didn't order dessert. Upside to the night was seeing sexy friend Jake Kelly haha - a mixologist at Daniel San (third pic) - he made us some drinks. Good to see you Jake. I had a good night but would have liked dessert - maybe tell people on arrival they have 90mins so we can rush through dinner. 15.01.2022 Heaven on the Northern Beaches - finally the North Northern Beaches was let out of quarantine so we headed to Church Point. To The Waterfront - Cafe & General Store - on the wharf and a bloody amazing meal!! Everyone that came to lunch said it was one of the best experiences they've had in a long time, my god I loved it - and the drinks . 15.01.2022 What a treat it was dining at Mezza Via | Italian Cuisine - I didn't realise it's the sister store to Verace Pizzeria until I was seated and saw all the awards. Located in Denistone East, this Italian restaurant is a local's favourite and could be as popular in Newtown. The food is exceptional. : ( )... Gnocchi Ragu Spritz's Arancini Alla Tartufo - Homemade balls of arborio rice with black truffle, porcini and grana Padano Napoletana King Prawns - King prawns in a traditional napoletana sauce hot pot with extra virgin olive oil, garlic & fresh parsley served with toasted Italian bread ‘Nduja Pizza - San Marzano Tomato, Fior di Latte, ‘Nduja, mushroom, rucola, oregano, EVOO A Special Dish - one for the anchovy lovers - it is strongly flavoured - a true Italian fish dish, most likely heavily frowned upon with the parmesan haha. 14.01.2022 I went bonkers for Red Rooster!! Loving the burger porn we were allowed to create at Red Rooster. Food Coma Eats The Wolf Of Eat Street Lickyourphone and myself were given free access to build monster burgers and generally have a lot of fun.... I'm coming around to loving Red Rooster - I was raised on Maccas and KFC - not wholly but my fast food intake was really only from these two. The chicken is tasty, they are the only fast food place that sells entire chicken, and the burger toppings are fantastic, especially when you can pour liquid cheese on yourself lol Give them a try! 11.01.2022 Three of us eating pigs were invited to try the trial of a monster slab pizza at Manoosh Pizzeria Mosman . The Wolf Of Eat Street Food Coma Eats and myself arrived to see a giant Pepperoni Pizza being made - the first Manoosh has made in the shape of a rectangular slab - I for one think all pizzas should be square or rectangle - it's better use of the pizza box haha And OK - Scott (Wolf) believes the only pizza worth shooting is the pepperoni - I'm coming aro...und haha - it is the best to eat, craving one right now . 11.01.2022 Staying on the Central Coast a couple of week's ago with some friends we headed down to Killcare for breakfast and had to stop in to Hardys Bistro . Hardy's has a special place in my heart, James, a dear friend who recently passed on to the big vineyard in the sky, and I stopped in for a meal in the past. He didn't want to eat and I ordered fish tacos and then he wanted one - so angry with him haha. So I had fish tacos wth good mates of both of us, Jay and Claire and ...another good mate, Bec, who lives on the coast visited us with her fairly new bubba, Paige. 08.01.2022 Saddle's at Mount White on the Central Coast is one of my favourite restaurants in NSW. This is my second visit and it was wonderful visiting on a postcard day with some awesome friends. It was so good even swans posed for me. I also had a wee tipple of the grape and fell asleep like an old man in the sun as the day progressed. Saddlesmtwhite is John Singleton's office and he built it with no expense spared, the name comes from very expensive bar stool saddles th...at he had made for a few grand each and you will often see him having meetings in the venue om weekdays. 08.01.2022 A video I made from our E P I C lunch last weekend at Hurricane's Grill with Get Fat With Nat This venue, literally on the beach is just perfect. I shoot pics for these guys but had never actually sat down to eat. Bottle of wine, watching a huge storm roll in and feasting with a good friend. I couldn't ask for more!! ( ):... Cheesy garlic roll Garlic mushrooms Louisiana style chicken wings Chicken and Ribs Combo Prawns VillaMoura Steamed veggies And Dessert - but that will be in another post this week! The entrees are perfect, their Louisiana Wings are possibly the best wings in Sydney and the Garlic Mushies are just a to-die-for guilty pleasure. For the mains I was highly impressed with the prawns, the flesh came out of the shell with ease, normally when you get prawns this way the flesh is stuck to the shell and you lose half of it. And the Chicken and Ribs combo I literally ordered because I had not photographed it before - and I prefer it to the steak and ribs combo. It breaks up the meat so you aren't eating all red meat. Hurricane's Grill has locations at Brighton Le Sands, Circular Quay and Darling Harbour, the other Hurricane's around Sydney and other places are owned by different people. 07.01.2022 Thanks to La Panchina, the owner Luca and the staff, and Jimmy Wong Eats for hosting myself and a bunch of bloggers last night!! We discovered a hidden gem in Surry Hills and if you like hanging out with Italians on the side of the park while they cook wood-fired pizzas and then feed you Mandarincelo afterwards this is your culinary mecca!! PIZZAS WERE EPIC - some of the best in Sydney and this place is so far under the radar that locals will be pissed it... will now get some attention! And fun fact: La Panchina, the store name, means Park Bench. And most of this caption is copied from my reel this morning hahaha Luca was cooking creatively and a lot of dishes weren't on the menu but they have daily specials and they are amazing!! I can't work the dishes out from the menu - they were all amazing!! Just order what you like and try out the specials. 06.01.2022 I've started editing the pics from Monday's shoot at The Harvest ground . The Harvest Ground won my first competition in the #20for20for20 competition - a free 2hr shoot with me. The place, the people and food was A GRADE and beautiful - I was the lucky one with these guys and gals winning - I'm already organising my return visit to enjoy the food! ... They're located in Penshurst and I can't recommend them enough!! This is their Hot Dog - Grilled Sausage, Caramelised Onion, Shredded Cheddar, Tomato Chutney and Mustard Mayo!! Divine!! 05.01.2022 New burger guys on the block, or blocks, in their pimped shipping container out at Minchinbury, BurgerQue deliver the goods. They cook on coal, hand-make their own everything, and the burgers taste amazing!! Rik and his wife know burgers. They're cooked perfectly and if it didn't take me an hour and 20min to get there, after collecting @ellmangoods , I would be visiting regularly. The venue is awesome and they have really thought out the shipping container. Orig...inally planned to open on Parramatta you can thank Covid for where they ended up, I visited for a Wednesday lunch, in gale-force winds and they were still busy. I see good things coming for this burger duo!! Now we had the Double Trouble but we had 4x patties and 4x cheese and added sucuk. Two of us couldn't finish it haha. We also had the Heavy Hitter. Their cabbage slaw is the best!! 2x premium beef patty, 2x pastirma, 2x lettuce mix, caramelised onion, cheese, special cabbage slaw, beetroot, burgerQue sauce on a gourmet bakery bun. 03.01.2022 We had a little foodies breakfast on Sunday at The Boathouse Shelly Beach - just around the coast from Manly. And being a total deadhead dumb bum I left my camera at home haha - so I shot it on my phone - not something I usually do. And I made a video (will post in the comments) and I gotta say I'm really happy with the pics haha My guests around the table were Kurt and Sarah from Thewhereto.com Jimmy from Jimmy Wong Eats and Michelle from MsLunchalot and the... amazing food we ate was..... + Potato rosti, roast tomato, poached eggs + salsa verde Caviar, creme fraiche, zucchini + poached eggs Kale, brown rice, poached eggs, sesame + chilli Lemon curd, mascarpone, poppy seed + berries The Salmon Fritters didn't look enticing at all and Jimmy confirmed, the Mushrooms were amazing but the Potato Rosti is the main thing on the plate - and it was so damn good (name change maybe?)!! Sarah ate the Greens and enjoyed it. Everyone at the table agreed however, the Ricotta Hotcakes were hands down the best - oh and the Scones were delightful. 01.01.2022 As luck would have it - I won a foodie comp out at Fire and Brimstone Barbeque inside Hillside Hotel, Castle Hill . I grabbed mate, Elmo, and hit the road - a few bevvies and a wicked Brimstone Box, and the night was set. The Brimstone Feast Box includes beef brisket, pulled pork, hot links, slaw, mac n cheese, beans, pickles and fries....
