20.01.2022 Last night the Sporting Car Club welcomed Brad Johnson of Zagame along with two of their lovely vehicles on stage.

19.01.2022 The Veteran and Vintage Sections' Around the Garages is always popular and this year was held in perfect weather. We were pleased to welcome 48 members on our run and a mixed array of beautiful vehicles turned out to visit the garage of longstanding member, Trevor. From an ultra modern F-type Jaguar to the stately Falcon Knight, there were Vintage, post- vintage, classic and modern cars to satisfy all tastes. Trevor's garage was full of beautiful and highly desirable pieces of motoring eye-candy, all of which had interesting back stories. From our host's venue it was only a short hop to our lunch stop where 40 of us continued to socialise while enjoying good food and great company. Many thanks to Trevor and Maureen for their kind hospitality and especially to Trevor for volunteering to show us his wonderful collection.

02.01.2022 Merry Christmas, everyone

01.01.2022 To all members and friends of the Sporting Car Club of SA best wishes for 2021. Let's get ready to have some fun!

01.01.2022 The first Sporting Car Club event of the year is always the New Year's Day Breakfast. Not for the faint of heart, this activity sorts out those with strong stomachs, hard heads and iron wills. Our numbers were a little lower this year, but a determined group met to make sure that 2020 had left the building and 2021 was greeted in style and with (muted) enthusiasm. Breakfast became brunch with much talking, eating, changing of seating positions to follow the shade and sol...ving the problems besetting the world. Possibly the best way to say goodbye to a not so great year and to acknowledge the potential of the year ahead is to sit in the shade of tall trees and enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts. Old friends caught up and new friends were made. There was a good variety of cars representing the club - from the Club Dodge driven by President Keith Williamson, through Vice President Rob Mead's Clubman, Geoff Vaughn's Durant, the Templer's Valiant, Trevor Shepherd's Bentley, the Chennells's Citroen and a brace of MGBs from either end of the spectrum - Tony and Sheen Beaven in their MKII and the Days in their "rubbernose" - to a smattering of modern cars. Many thanks to Don Bosanquet for "staking out" the sheltershed which we didn't end up using, but which we would have needed if the weather had been inclement. This is an event to which all Club members are invited so mark it in your diaries for next year. It really doesn't matter what type of car you drive, it's the company that counts. See more

01.01.2022 On Friday night the Classic & Modern Section held their annual "Meeting on the Move" which again was held at the superb West Lakes Golf Club. 93 members attended the meeting and there was an amazing display of Classic, Modern Classic and Sports Cars lined up in the car park, a great sight. After the meeting formalities were conducted it was onto the inaugural trophy presentations, first was the West Lakes Golf Club Classic award, this is awarded to the most desirable classic ...on the night and the winner was Warren Lewis in his superb Sunbeam Tiger. The next award was for the committees choice award and in a split decision Rocco Giglio with his stunning Nissan GTR was awarded the trophy and competition was hot so this was a well deserved winner. Many thanks to everyone that helped make this event a great night and we look forward to 2021 being a great year for the club. See more
