25.01.2022 VALE - JEAN MCFARLANE We have just received some very sad news - Anyone who knows Ray would know Jean. Jean McFarlane passed away yesterday after a hospitalised illness (Not Covid). Most in the shooting community would remember Jean as a very active helping member of Geelong Sporting Clays. Although Jean never pulled the trigger she always assisted Ray & the Geelong Sporting Clay Club for 35 years at most Club & National events in the canteen. The thoughts of the Sporting Clay family are with Ray & his family at this sad time.
23.01.2022 Anthony Panetta of Sporting Clays Australia talks to us about the role his local club played in supporting him on his way to winning the National Championships!... With restrictions easing it's important to get back to the range and support your club, but even with a returning sense of normalcy, safety is still the number one priority so make sure you contact your club before heading out!
22.01.2022 SCA MAGAZINE UPDATE - As the Lockdowns start to lift & SCA Clubs start getting back into breaking Clay Targets it is timely to provide other news that is positive as we move away from the incarcerations & back into our normal lives & Sport. We mentioned a few weeks ago developments in the on-line magazine being loaded to the SCA Website. Going forward these magazines will be uploaded as a Flip page brochure, with the added advantage to include videos into the Electronic upl...oad. Although printed Magazines are great for reading, they do lack a video content to be uploaded for real time action. We now have this option to embed videos into our Electronic upload. This has the added advantage of showcasing other areas, for example, Advertisers, SCA National Titles plus a myriad of other ways to showcase the sport. The videos can be changed & expanded at anytime to get information out, We have been in contact with our advertisers & event partners, with Beretta & Perazzi taking advantage of this option. They have provided video content which can be viewed from their advert page through the "Play"Button Link for the Flick page Magazine - https://online.flipbuilder.com/kcax/fcgg/

21.01.2022 News just in - Good News for Queensland Sporting Clay Members. They have saved the best until last
19.01.2022 Advice received from Queensland - Beautiful One Day - Perfect the next? While the rest of Australia starts shooting this weekend, Queensland has to wait another month due to the latest QLD GOV decision made on Wednesday 13th May. Expected return to practise will be 13th June for QLD
19.01.2022 ON THE MOVE - INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL? There seems to be some positive news on International Travel. The Tourism Restart Taskforce met on May 22nd and reviewed the "Deemed Safe" Countries, with the decision to start operating International flights opening back up on 1st July between New Zealand & the Pacific rim "Bubble" . To what degree & to what cities still has to be finalised.... Other good news is that the 14 day Quarantine period will NOT be required in those countries to travellers. This News will be of interest to the members looking to book the Oceania in New Caledonia, although now we are aware travel is opening up we will have to confirm with New Caledoinia on the event timing. More countries will be opened up as they are deemed safe. The next move to allow travel to the next batch of safe countries will be 12th September 2020 Full International travel is expected to be on line for 15th December 2020 . It is expected that only 50% of flights pre-Covid will be in operation by the end of 2020, with the full pre covid flight capacity not expected until 2022. Domestic Travel expected 5th June 2020. There are no plans to remove the middle seats (which was flagged previously). Airports will have protocols applied which will include temperature checking. No information is available on what the expected fares will be like compared to pre-Covid? More news to follow as we are advised. .
18.01.2022 Sporting Clay Nationals 2020 - Further to the cancellation notice advised yesterday of the October date for the 2020 SCA Sporting Nationals in Brisbane. There has been a lot of interest shown for this event to still go ahead at Brisbane Sporting Clays if at all possible, although it is obvious that any new date has faded for the rest of 2020, . ... SCA will keep the options open to possibly reschedule the date of the 2020 National Sporting Championships for early 2021 should the opportunity arise. The deciding factor for this event to be rescheduled will be a reopening of State borders allowing all Australians to freely travel again within Australia. In the meantime, keep healthy everyone & we look forward to seeing everyone around the traps again sooner, rather than later

06.01.2022 Sporting Clays Australia announces its Online Nominations System, Please Note - This system is for the SCA Clubs & States to use in preparation, The SCA National Competitions will still use the Standard membership online portal. The current restrictions imposed with the COVID-19 pandemic are gradually being lifted but there will be ongoing restrictions on all sporting activities, including clay target shooting, for many months to come.... The need to meet social distancing regulations and crowd sizes means that the way events are run has to change. One way clubs can meet these requirements is to stagger the arrival times for competitors and this is best done by setting up the nominations for the event before the event so that people are aware of what time their squad will be required to start shooting. SCA is currently trialling a new online nominations system which will provide this support. We need your help to test this system before competitions get restarted. The SCA Live Scores website (https://scalivescores.com.au) will host a number of test events over the coming weeks and you are cordially invited to connect to that system and nominate for one or more of these test events. You should be able to use a smartphone to complete the process and we would welcome your feedback on how you found the experience. Some features of the system: One person can set up nominations for a group Payments are not required in the testing phase, but when used for real events, payments can be made by bank transfer or pay on the day When two or more people are nominated as a group, they can request to shoot together (e.g. parent, child) People can select preferred start times
04.01.2022 NEWS IN FROM VICTORIA We have just received an update for Victoria Sporting Clays regarding the easing from the present lockdown, which will allow their Association & Clubs to start planning for shooting - 13th MAY 2020 for Step 1.... 03.01.2022 As we start to get back into shooting Sporting Clays a new format with Shooting Australia. SCA Vice President - Anthony Panetta in the live podcast https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=919036618613672
01.01.2022 SPORTING CLAY NATIONALS - BRISBANE - OCTOBER DATE CANCELLED - Sorry Folks but we tried to keep the event alive for October but we have run out of time with good news. When the Covid-19 situation was reviewed a month ago the country seemed to be getting it together & it looked hopeful that we would all be Australians again with free travel between the States happening in August,.... Our earlier optimism has been deflated with the worsening conditions in Victoria & also NSW with further lock downs as more people are being infected with a second wave of Covid-19. The news is the lock downs will be here until Christmas at least. This news along with the other states in Australia in either keeping their borders closed down or stopping travel interstate for the remaining States makes the process untenable. Sad we know, but this Covid-19 problem is out of our control and unfortunately we are all passengers along for the ride. We will keep you informed as and when we receive further news.
