23.01.2022 Thank-you to everyone for their continued support over the past month! We have put multiple steps in place to pay it forward and help everyone where we can. We are very fortunate that we can remain open to help people stay healthy and overcome any injuries, aches, pains or musculoskeletal conditions. We are currently open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and hopeful to open more hours soon.

Worry less about your training or exercising shoes and more about the shoes you spend the majority of the day in. #Repost @myfootfunction (@get_repost) It’s what you have on your feet for most of the day which will have the biggest impact.... One of the most common mistakes we see is that people only use their foot-shaped shoes during training, and narrow, symmetrical shoes all other hours. Let’s put it into perspective; Walking is 1,25x your body weight. If you weigh 80kg and take your 10000 steps per day, that’s 1000 tonnes of force through your feet. Running is up to 3x your body weight, if you run 60 min averaging 170 steps per minute, that’s almost 2500 tonnes! Avarage person works 40-60 hours and trains 3-6 hours. Spending x10 longer in narrow, symmetrical shoes.

We are an allied heath centre consisting of 4 Sports Chiros, 2 EPs and 2 Massage Therapists. One of our Sports Chiros is moving overseas at the end of the year, we are looking for someone to absorb the database that will become available.... 12.01.2022 The safety of Chiropractic is often questioned. This diagram nicely puts it in perspective, a cervical manipulation/adjustment is remarkably safe when performed by a trained health professional.

09.01.2022 Some great research for Manipulative Therapists . The Evidence supports the use of Cervical Manipulation as a treatment for cervicalgia, epicondylalgia, temporomandibular joint disorders and shoulder pain. I suspect cervical manipulations would be a viable option for numerous other conditions aswell when used in combination with other modalities of treatment such as Soft Tissue Therapy and Prescriptive Exercises.

07.01.2022 I get asked frequently what to do for warm up or prepping drills. This is a little flow that I do before BJJ plus or minus a few others. To be honest there are bucket loads of exercises that would benefit nearly everyone. Then there are also specific exercises that would change based on the person and / or the exercise they were preparing for... bottom line the warm up or preparation drills should have a purpose. The goal for this one is to move, load and lengthen my joints and soft tissues in all different directions. #traindontexercise #warmup #bjj #exerciseprep

06.01.2022 Some of the team have changed, some of the team still remain, some of the team have little rugrats, some of the team are still children themselves... I am grateful to have a solid group of people around me, people who share the same belief of a 'patient first model'. Regardless of the profession we all work together to achieve the best outcome for the patient. We will continue to build the team with likeminded health profressionals to offer more services and options for the patients.
