23.01.2022 Any idea who this shearer is? In Tasmania, possibly mid 90s. Maybe Peter Whatley remembers as I have no doubt Peter is the shearer behind the one in question.

12.01.2022 Morning to all Sports Shear Tas supporters Apologies for being AWOL lately, life & nursing have caught up with me! Our AGM will be held on Sunday 9th August at 1pm at The Campbelltown Hotel (upstairs). Your attendance at this meeting will be greatly appreciated. Sadly, I will not be continuing in my role as President of STTAS following this meeting, as I now work most weekends and cannot make meetings, attend events or travel for SSAA interstate competitions to give this ...association the attention it deserves. There are other roles in the committee to be filled, and I urge you all to consider taking on a role to keep SSTAS afloat. If anyone has any questions about the roles, don’t hesitate to contact me on 0457335787. I’d like to thank you all for your support over the last 2 years. I’ve loved being a part of this wonderful crew & being able to add some shows into our Tassie circuit has been a bonus. I hope to see as many of you at the meeting as possible. Fran

12.01.2022 SSTAS Inc. is saddened by the news of our friend Kent Moss’s passing. We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Kent’s wife Wendy and to the family. Kent was instrumental in aiding SSTAS Inc. with formalising and fitting our State Team members in uniforms, looking dapper and ready to attend Nationals every year. Kent was a true gentleman and friend to us and he will be sadly missed.

11.01.2022 Finals results from Fingal yesterday. Congratulations again to all competitors and thankyou to everyone who helped bring the day together.

01.01.2022 Good evening to all SSTAS supporters & competitors. Just a quick message to say that we definitely have not forgotten about our shearers and wool handlers who would have been competing for Tasmania at the National Shearing and Wool Handling Championships this year. COVID 19 has put a stop to this event, however we definitely do still plan on formally acknowledging you for all for your wonderful efforts and success throughout the 2019/2020 season. We are working towards host...ing an event to congratulate you all, one which follows COVID safe guidelines. Further, there has already been a reduction in the number of shows for our upcoming season. We will keep you all informed as we find out more. Please continue to support SSTAS and any shows that do go ahead, and ask how you can get on board with fundraising etc to prepare us well for future events. Please support your new president Robbie Glover by attending the November meeting on Sunday the 22nd at 2pm within the Campbelltown Hotel. Hope to see you there !
