14.01.2022 When using the Sports Starting System on an outdoor 50m pool with 8 or 10 lanes it is recommended to use an extension speaker to distribute both PA and the start tone over a wider area for the swimmers. If the main system is adjacent to lane 8 or 10 then the extension speaker should be located between lanes 2 and 3. This will provide good distribution of sound across the pool. The time keepers at the other end of the pool should start their watches on the strobe light, not the tone due to the time delay down the pool. The starting tone is for the competitors only, not the time keepers.

09.01.2022 A tip for keeping your system operational when you need it... Use a 7 day electrical time clock to automatically keep the batteries charged during dormant periods. The batteries will self discharge over longer periods (e.g. a month) similar to a car battery. To prevent this the charger can be left plugged into the system and the time clock can then be set to automatically turn the charger on once a week for an hour or two to charge the batteries. Time clocks can be purchased from hardware and electrical suppliers. This will ensure when you turn on your system at the start of the season it will work... (Always fully charge the batteries directly after each use.)

03.01.2022 A further tip for keeping your system operational when you need it... Either use a 7 day electrical time clock to automatically keep the batteries charged or just leave the system on charge continuously. The batteries will self discharge over longer periods (e.g. a month) similar to a car battery. To prevent this the charger can be left on and plugged into the system. The charger is a smart charger and will not over charge the batteries. The light on the charger should be red for charge or green for charged and on float, if the light is flashing red or off, then there is a problem and action is required to determine what is wrong. This will ensure when you turn on your system at the start of the season it will work... (Always fully charge the batteries directly after each use.)
