12.01.2022 Melanoma is just as common during a viral pandemic as at any other time. But it seems melanoma diagnoses are declining in Victoria as fewer people venture out to have suspicious-looking spots checked. If you aren't at high risk and you don't have any spots, it's fine - and responsible - to put off a routine skin check until after COVID restrictions ease and non-essential services are available. But if you are at high risk (previous melanoma history, lots of moles, history of... solarium use) or if you have an odd-looking new or changing spot, please don't hesitate to have it checked.
