25.01.2022 Spring has sprung in Perth... its time to have a wardrobe shuffle! Taking a few steps to lovingly store away your winter wardrobe items now will mean they will be ready to rediscover and re-wear next winter. Heavy Knitwear 1 ... Make sure knitwear is clean before putting away for the summer. Silverfish love food on clothes!! Washing First check items for any holes as best they are mended then now save more damage through washing. Turn the knitwear inside out before washing, leave them this way for drying too. Hand wash , in a wool liquid wash, I use Earths Choice wool wash or dish wash liquid. Alternatively pop all your like coloured knitwear into laundry bags and machine wash on the wool cycle. 2 Dry flat ,on an airer, in the shade. 3 Storing Away Knitwear keep best folded and stored in a draw or on a wardrobe shelf. 4 Silver Fish deterrence: -Shake up your lavender bags, do they still have fragrance? If not replace them with new dried lavender. Lavender smells lovely but doesnt always work to keep the little blighters a bay.... Adding organza bags filled with cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks tends to be more powerful and smells more pleasant than moth balls. -Do your Cedar Balls still smell of cedar? If not, they can be refresh with a splash of Cedar oil! Let the oil soak into the wooden balls for a few hours before returning them to your storage space. -Have your scented soap lost their smell? If so, it is time to use them up to wash your hands and replace with new fragrant bars. Comment below if you have any knitwear care or storage questions?

COATS AND HEAVY JACKETS 1 Spot clean any dirt marks, with a damp cloth, paying particular attention to the cuff and collar areas. 2 Hang out to air, in the shade, for at least a few hours. 3 Store away on a hanger that fits the coat shoulders properly. If the hanger is too big or small it may cause stretching and damage the shape of the jacket. 09.01.2022 #toptiptuesday Freshen up your trainers simply by washing the laces and cleaning the soles. Remove the laces to pre soak then in Sard Vanish ( I do this in a small container to save water) give them a scrub with a brush before popping then into a laundry bag... ( saves them getting in knots) and adding them to a white wash cycle. Wipe over the soles, give an extra scrub with liquid soap if required and pop out on an airer to dry. Hello fresh trainers!!
