25.01.2022 Hi Fans, Here is another caricature showing the photo example of the subject and the finished caricature. It was a gift celebrating his 10 years with the business. Stay sane. All the best - Spratti

25.01.2022 Hi Fans, If you needed any proof that Summer is just around the corner then look no further than these two recent caricatures. Both have people jumping into the water. What a great idea, might go and do it right now! All the best - Spratti

24.01.2022 Hi Fans, Due to Covid-19 restrictions the following will now apply. All caricatures must wear a face mask. Caricatures that include two or more people must be drawn 1.5 metres apart. All the best - Spratti

20.01.2022 Hi Fans, Do you know your Father's eye colour? Many don't, many don't know their partner's eye colour. When it comes to painting their caricature I need to know as it matters. Some people cover themselves by saying they are "bluey brown with a touch of grey green". The best one was this week. The guy ordering the caricature wasn't sure of his own eye colour - true. All the best - Spratti

20.01.2022 Hi Fans, To observe the Social Distancing rules this week I have attached a two person caricature ( Father and Son ). You will also notice that I did not include anyone in the background walking on the beach. Just in case they got too close. If you have a birthday coming up and want to give someone a good laugh, order a caricature online and I will send it directly to the recipient. Go to the prices page to view our special Corona prices. information.https://www.caricaturesb...yspratti.com.au/caricatures-get-st/ Stay well and happy - Spratti

20.01.2022 Hi Fans, I did this "Chick Magnet" last week for his 60th birthday. The birthday boy runs a hatchery so I included a few little chicks. Can you find the one enjoying a white wine and the one sunbathing? When Angela who commissioned it received it she wrote ..."I was expecting it to be good but had no idea it would be so incredible..." Another happy customer. Thanks Angela. All the best Spratti

15.01.2022 Hi Fans, I thought I would show you the steps I go through when creating one of my original cartoons. 1. I start by coming up with the idea and then settle on a ... composition that will best tell the story. 2. Next I refine the characters and draw the outline of the cartoon by hand with pen and ink. I like pen and ink because it gives me a very human line, (yes, a human line). 3. Finally I scan the line drawing into my computer and colour it up in Photoshop. Here I can easily play with colour options until I am happy with what works. Note: I only use Photoshop on my Cartoons and never on my Caricatures. They are all hand drawn and hand painted in watercolour. Cartoons are all about storytelling albeit a very short story. All the best Spratti

14.01.2022 Hi Fans, Here is one for a 50th birthday. It was well before the Corona Virus and not on the Ruby Princess, thank God. All the best- Spratti

14.01.2022 Hi Fans, Here is a cartoon I did some years ago on the last pandemic or was it the one before that...? Hoping this is not the "New Normal" (don't you hate that term). Stay well and isolated and keep laughing. All the best - Spratti

12.01.2022 Hi Fans, Still busy "caracaturing" ( is that even a word? ) Here are a couple of recent ones. The first for a guy's girlfriend. The second for a guy's birthday that included the family. Fun ones to do. All the best - Spratti

08.01.2022 Hi Fans, All of my caricatures are created from photos my customers have sent to me. This makes ordering really easy and each caricature is a complete surprise. The example below shows the photo sent so you can compare the final result. All the best - Spratti

07.01.2022 Hi Fans, Here is a fun family caricature I did this week. Three generations all together fishing in their boat. I call it wishing as that is about all I do when I go out. All the best - Spratti

07.01.2022 Hi Fans, Sometimes in addition to the information on the order form people will send me a drawing of what they have in mind. Here is one I did last week showing the image the customer sent and the finished artwork. I think my job is safe lol.... All the best - Spratti

07.01.2022 Hi Fans, Here are a couple of little Heroes that I did this week for a customer. I don't normally draw individual dogs, but these guys had real personality that was hard to resist. All the best - Spratti

04.01.2022 Hi Fans, People often ask me if I do live draw caricatures at functions such as Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs or Corporate Events. So I thought I would put together a list of reasons why I don’t do live draws. 1. Don’t want to grow a goatee and wear a funny hat. 2. Not willing to do 20 caricatures an hour. You can’t create ... anything worthwhile in 3 minutes. 3. Don’t need to do them as online commissions keep me very busy. 4. Not wanting to travel the countryside spending two hours to get somewhere for a two hour gig, makes no sense. 5. Never liked the idea of wearing a harlequin style waistcoat and a giant paisley bowtie . or something equally sad. 6. I want the satisfaction of creating artwork people will treasure for years, not put in the bottom draw never to be seen again. Any way enough of that. All the best - Spratti

01.01.2022 Hi Fans, You're not seriously thinking of giving your Dad the same old boring gift this #Father's Day are you? If your Dad is unique, give him a caricature and include all the things that make him special to you. If you want to see a grown man cry order one of my caricatures today. All the best - Spratti
