17.01.2022 The body doesnt have an organ called the immune system. The human body is an immune system. A system composed of viruses, bacteria, fungi, parasites & a few h...uman elements too. The last decade has uncovered discoveries of the vast universe we call the microbiome. Two paradigm shifting conclusions have been ascertained from thousands of research studies: Neither human immunity or the human brain work without the interaction of millions of species of tiny organisms that inhabit every niche of the human body. The gut is the Manhattan of the microbiome. Every internal organ; liver, kidneys, vascular system, and brain, have unique ecosystems of viruses, bacteria & fungi that maintain balance & function. The foundation of the gut & microbiome in human health cannot be over emphasized. Our lab has been working for 7 years to understand the relationship between the microbiome & integrity of the intestinal lining. Your gut lining, covering two tennis courts in surface area, is only half the thickness of a human hair. This super thin cellophane-like barrier is not a wall, but rather an intelligent gate keeper, allowing the good stuff in, & keeping out unwanted biome, toxins, organic, inorganic toxins, etc. In a profoundly eloquent method of checks & balances, mother nature has designed our gut barrier, the primary structure that defines your self-identity at the biologic level, to be completely dependent on its continuous contact with the microbial population of the earth. Through your breath, food & all you touch, your microbiome is an extension of you. If you isolate yourself from nature & her biodiversity, you will falter in your self-identity, immune function, & in your mind. 1 course of antibiotics: shown to increase your risk of major depression by 24%, anxiety disorders by 17% 2 courses of antibiotics in a year: 52% increase in depression & 44% increase in anxiety disorders. Neither the microbiome or the virome are against us. The microbiome, communicating via viruses, is the origin of biologic life & the avenue of adaptation that makes a biodiverse, abundant, resilient earth. If we fight it, we will die. Go hug a tree. 14.01.2022 WHY ARE THE PSOAS MUSCLES CONSTANTLY CONTRACTED DURING PROLONGED PERIODS OF STRESS? Whether you run, bike, dance, practice yoga, or just hang out on your couc...h, your psoas muscles are involved. Thats because your psoas muscles are the primary connectors between your torso and your legs. They affect your posture and help to stabilise your spine. The psoas muscles are made of both slow and fast twitching muscles. Because they are major flexors, weak psoas muscles can cause many of the surrounding muscles to compensate and become overused. That is why a tight or overstretched psoas muscle could be the cause of many or your aches and pains, including low back and pelvic pain. ANATOMY Structurally, your psoas muscles are the deepest muscles in your core. They attach from your 12th thoracic vertebrae to your 5 lumbar vertebrae, through your pelvis and then finally attach to your femurs. In fact, they are the only muscles that connect your spine to your legs. Your psoas muscles allow you to bend your hips and legs towards your chest, for example when you are going up stairs. They also help to move your leg forward when you walk or run. Your psoas muscles are the muscles that flex your trunk forward when bend over to pick up something from the floor. They also stabilize your trunk and spine during movement and sitting. THE PSOAS AND FIGHT OR FLIGHT RESPONSE The psoas muscles support your internal organs and work like hydraulic pumps allowing blood and lymph to be pushed in and out of your cells. Your psoas muscles are vital not only to your structural well-being, but also to your psychological well-being because of their connection to your breath. Heres why: there are two tendons for the diaphragm (called the crura) that extend down and connect to the spine alongside where the psoas muscles attach. One of the ligaments (the medial arcuate) wraps around the top of each psoas. Also, the diaphragm and the psoas muscles are connected through fascia that also connects the other hip muscles. These connections between the psoas muscle and the diaphragm literally connect your ability to walk and breathe, and also how you respond to fear and excitement. Thats because, when you are startled or under stress, your psoas contracts. In other words, your psoas has a direct influence on your fight or flight response! During prolonged periods of stress, your psoas is constantly contracted. The same contraction occurs when you: sit for long periods of time engage in excessive running or walking sleep in the fetal position do a lot of sit-ups Here are some tips for getting your psoas back in balance: Avoid sitting for extended periods Add support to your car seat Try Resistance Flexibility exercises Get a professional massage Release stress and past traumas Stretch HOW TO STRETCH Roller Psoas Stretch Use a foam roller for this passive, relaxing stretch that lengthens your psoas, one of your deep hip flexors. 1. Place the roller perpendicular to your spine and lie with your sacrum (the back of your pelvis) not your spine on the roller. 2. Pull your left knee toward your chest, keeping your right heel on the ground. You should feel a stretch on the front of your right hip. 3. To increase the stretch, reach your right arm over your head and open your left knee slightly out to the left. Hold for 30 seconds, then switch legs. Repeat as needed.

12.01.2022 Are your Glutes (bottom muscles) causing lower back pain or sciatica symptoms? Gluteal stretches are a great way to relieve the ache in your back which can be ...a result of tightness in your gluteal muscles. A tight Piriformis muscle (one of the gluteal muscles) can also impinge on the sciatic nerve causing a world of pain down your leg including tingling and numbness from the compression of the nerve. Gluteal Stretch 1. To perform this stretch lie on your back. 2. Bend your left knee with your foot flat on the floor. 3. Cross your right leg over your left knee so your right ankle is just above your knee. 4. Exhale and flex your left knee and hip, lifting your left foot off the floor. 5. The higher you lift the left leg the greater the stretch to target the deeper gluteal muscles such as Gluteus Minimus, Piriformis, Superior Gemellus, Obturator internus, Inferior Gemellus and Quadratus Femoris. 6. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds on each leg 3 to 4 times, twice a day. [SEE THE PHOTOS FOR HOW THIS LOOKS] Variation: In A Sitting Position [CHECK OUT THE SEATED VERSION IN THE PHOTOS] Variation: Standing Gluteal Stretch 1. In standing position flex your left hip 90 degrees as well as your knee. 2. Place your left foot just above your right straight knee. 3. While holding onto a chair or bench for balance slowing bend the right knee and hip until you feel a stretch in the left gluteal muscles. 4. Hold for 30 seconds on each leg 3 to 4 times, twice a day. [CHECK OUT THE STANDING VERSION PHOTO TOO] Remember none of these stretches should cause you to feel ANY pain.

10.01.2022 THE MACE ENERGY METHOD IN PRACTICE We address the cause, not manifestations. One of John Mace’s discoveries was, it is Negative identities that manifest in man...y ways including; low moods, lack of energy and motivation, depression, relationship problems, fears, phobias, low self esteem, anger bursts, lack of confidence. In short, one feels something is wrong and cannot necessarily see the cause. These negative identities are not a self. They are something we accidentally create via upsetting events and or trauma and then over time, we unknowingly identify and believe it is who we are as a person. And because we did create them, we can discreate them. They oppose your own dreams, goals and purpose, producing many unwanted consequences in your life. As a departure from conventional counselling, MEM does not involve self disclosure. With the guidance of a MEM practitioner, and the new understanding of the true source of our emotional and mental health issues, they walk with the client facilitating a series of simple mental exercises, where the client effectively and permanently clears any and all the adverse negative emotional effects of these negative identities. Thus revealing and returning clients to their inherent naturally happy, positive, optimistic and productive Self. Results are guaranteed! MEM operates at two levels. 1. Eliminating all negative aspects of a client’s everyday life. (Non- survival ) 2. Enhancing one’s awareness of self as a Human Energy Unit. (Spiritual being) Pro Survival
