25.01.2022 Fly Consulting are the first organisation in the world to run the Springboard Womens Development Program Live Online. 100% felt more confident in their own de...velopment 95% felt more confident in goal setting 80% felt more confident in their own positivity 80% felt more confident in their communication skills 80% felt more confident in their professional relationships Besides growing my network, I have learnt some key life skills to accept who I am and continue to develop a growth mindset in order to have a full, purposeful life and realise my potential. I have a lot to give and want to start channeling this energy towards constructive outcomes. I feel like I am being listened to more, and by being positive and encouraging others, my team has achieved more and the workplace has been more positive and a nicer place to work. Support network - never felt so accepted, supported and encouraged. I am more confident in speaking up and plan to keep improving this skill. An effective communicator is valuable in any organisation. Deb brought a positive attitude to our conferences, was supportive and great at keeping us on task. She is great at communicating and undertook the role of facilitator so well considering we had to undertake the course via Zoom.

23.01.2022 Ive been called crazy, mad & more. I love a bit of crazy. Bring it!

22.01.2022 Excessively apologising..... will we ever stop?

22.01.2022 Really? Does this still happen today? A friend sent me a message yesterday saying how happy she was and thankful to her boss as he gave her a payrise she didnt expect? She was so grateful till the unexpected happened........ She was sent the new starters contract instead of her own by mistake!!!!!!... Ok, so here it is........ Will you believe it.......? The new starter is a male, less experience, not proven his worth or capability and HE was paid $10k more than her on a starting salary. Seriously, is this still happening here in Sydney, Australia in the world we are in today. Where is the equality here? Yes, she has taken the ammunition in to fight for her rights. This exact example happened to me too when I was living in London 12 years ago, worst thing of all was my boss was a woman. I find this extremely sad! Even when I was the top three performing sales person from 53 Business Managers....... Shocking! In this case, I did speak up and the reply was absolutely ridiculous. It made me wonder why only three of the Business Managers were female in a predominate male industry. I wasnt heard so I made the choice to leave the business and find alternate employment. They lost a top performer. Fortunately I was able to do this financially, however there are a lot of people stuck in the same position that are too afraid to speak up for fear of loosing their job and financially dependant. Things need to change, unless we speak up they will continuously get away with this. What would you do if this happened to you?

21.01.2022 I made a goal to apply for a job after I finished the Springboard Program. My criteria was it had to be something that aligned with my values and goals. I didnt meet the selection criteria, only at least 60-70% of it. I still applied for the position, went into the interview with all of the tools I learnt at Springboard, and was offered the job! Thank you for your guidance under the Springboard program it was such a positive, character building experience. November 2018 ...WOW! So great to see the Springboard Program making difference in womens lives. Its been magical to watch the self-belief grow within someone when they find out what it is they want and the moment when they stop holding back! Small steps, big dreams, action taking! Love these testimonials.

20.01.2022 This has been around for a while, although it always sees me in an emotional state when I watch it. After watching this I remember asking my boys 7 & 11 to run like a girl & throw like a girl. Was brilliant to see they did exactly the same as they would as a boy. No difference in their eyes ... Catch your language even to the boys when you slip out your playing xxxx like a girl, stop crying like a girl - boys too can cry and show emotion. Lets not knock it out of them.

20.01.2022 What a great way to showcase the gender pay difference. I felt tears of sadness when the little girls and boys looked confused as to why they received less for the same job. It innocence as a child that gets gradually taught, stereotyped and influenced is just wrong. I too have been paid significantly less from a past employment, and the saddest part of that was my boss was a woman.... Its not just the men that need to see this its the women that sometimes feel inferior or threatened by other women, start championing the people that are doing their jobs well. Boy or Girl, Man or Woman- if the job is the same, pay the same

19.01.2022 What do you do when your procrastinating? How to you turn your thoughts into action? With the School Holidays in full gear ahead its tricky for parents to ju...ggle the balance with what to get done and what lingers ahead. Me today, Im trying to hide from my kids to get a Q & A complete for Womens Agenda. Its been sitting on my desk for a week and now the deadline is here. Why do we leave things till the last minute, study, completing the article, working out, finishing a project, cleaning the house..... When something is too hard, perhaps you dont know how to start, you know it will take longer than the time we can give it, maybe it doesnt excite you, perhaps your simply over thinking it or your harnessing too much energy for it to be perfect! There is only one way you can stop procrastinating! JFDI - Just F##ggin Do It! Next time to see yourself chucking a tantrum, pushing the documents from one side of your desk to the other. Think to yourself, whats the one thing I can do to get started. And then think about what it will look like when complete. Break a big task down into manageable steps. Sometimes its just about getting started. So whats one thing you have been procrastinating on and take a moment to look at yourself sulking, chucking a tantrum, feeling heavy and ask yourself how you will feel when its finished! Visualisation of the end result can drive your motive to completion. You willl feel lighter, accomplished, free to move onto other things and your endorphins will kick in. Lets face it, we never regret a good work out, you never wish you hadnt completed something. You will feel better for getting started. Take action - putting that pen to paper or turning up to the gym can be the hard part. Just getting something done without it being perfect and putting so much pressure on yourself can be ok as well. Dont be so tough on yourself and just get it done. JFDI

18.01.2022 Sometimes we need to say no to Re-energise ourselvesSometimes we need to say no to Re-energise ourselves

18.01.2022 Its a great reminder to remember that we cant always see someones struggles in life. Anxiety is not always an external form of body language and a smile can hide a million battles inside ones mind. Its a great habit to get into asking someone how theyre world is every now and then. A warm hug, a question of warmth or a sincere compliment may go long with people. ... As well as checking in with others, checkin with yourself as well. You are worth looking after. Thank you Osher for sharing your journey, one of challenges and triumphs.

16.01.2022 What an incredible morning having the opportunity to hear from our Olympic Medallist in the 200 sprints! Melinda Gainsford-Taylor AM. I found her story absolutely inspiring and felt welts of tears building throughout her story today. Sharing her work life balance with being a busy mother, how she knew from a young age of 8 that she wanted to be a runner, she took ownership of this and personally found & called a correspondence coach which ended up with a wonderful 23 years o...f achievement together. She didnt always have a smooth road ahead. Melinda had a tough time personally seeing her mother battling multiple cancer challenges till she lost the fight 3 years ago. Although harnessed her energy for the greater of her running. When injuries occurred (as they do and will) she had a Plan B and altered the route to keep achieving and knowing when to listen to her body, slowing it down and picking it up again at the right time. This astonishing sprinter even completed her first Marathon, yes the 200 mtrs is a tad shorter than 42km some would say. She certainly had people making judgement at times throughout her teenage years and I love that she didnt let this take over and damage her career, resilience and coming back from hardship is tough to do. She is an advocate for if you want to achieve something you need to put in the time, energy and have the resources around you. One of the many benefits of having her marvellous coach was for self belief, those times when your confidence is lost, they are there to pick you up and she never, never gave up on her. So lessons learnt: - Try rather than not try at all, even if its Plan B - Put the hard work in and you will eventually achieve - Have the right support crew around you - Reduce negative influences in your life - How sacrifices in social engagement when young can be a greater reward when you hit those highs later in your career. Rarely in life to we achieve on our own, she made many comments on her coach. The team around us give us the energy to keep going, work, social, sport its all relevant. Truly a magical speech today. So blessed to have been there. Thank you Melinda for sharing. International Womens Day #PressforProgress 2018

16.01.2022 Not sure Id wear them. Not sure we need to walk in them. Its nice to see the future is female and we are out and proud. I ponder the though to seeing a man walking in the future is male shoes and the kicking he may get from this. Im all for gender equality. But, is this too far?

14.01.2022 And thats a wrap, another happy group of amazing people ready for the next stages of their lives. Here is what our group from the Office of Environment and Heritage said about the Springboard Program yesterday: Thought provoking & inspiring. It really has changed my perspective on things & has given me the confidence to peruse what is important to me & know that even when I fail I will be supported and ok. Incredibly valuable - I could do it every year!... Amazing & life-changing. Im so grateful to have got a place in it & done the course. Ive never had the chance to do a course like this. Very meaningful. Awesome program that has enabled me to build my self-confidence and take control of my career and network. A fantastic program that has helped me believe in myself & my abilities once again. Empowering, invigorating & inspiring. Self-awareness, Values, & Integrity, Goals, Great People and superb stories are my big life-changing takeaways from this course. Bloody Fantastic Deb helped us feel comfortable to be vulnerable. I love that Deb brought her own personal experiences into the activities, it really built a safe space. So great to enable these women with the tools, an open forum and empower them with self-belief and a support network that is so valuable for their future. Raising their hands to lift each other up and building their networks for sustainable success. Its been magic to watch them from three months ago to yesterday sharing all their achievements from new positions, organised household, assertive conversations, asking for what they want, being brave and most of all taking action towards their future in a true and authentic way. And not to forget our incredible line up of Guest Speakers along the way. Thank you for yesterday Wendy Hills. Cant wait to see them all again in three months for our post Springboard Program.

12.01.2022 Could you do it? Probably yes. Do you really want to do it? Not really. Are you feeling exhausted, tired and overwhelmed? ... Then I encourage you to take some ownership of your time, energy and resources and simply say, No! Its up to you to nurture yourself with some self-care from time to time. Next time your feeling any of the above. Use that power word No to reclaim some of your precious time back. It will make a huge difference in your productivity and the end result.

11.01.2022 Did you know its International Day of Happiness today. Are you feeling it? I certainly am. This years theme is #sharehappiness embracing friendships, kindness and helping each other. ... This is me off to a concert with some beautiful friends, our bellies were filled with laughter, fun chats and a wonderful afternoon with some great tunes. My hubby kindly drove us there and I looked after my friends kids yesterday when there Mumma was poorly yesterday. Enrich your soul by hanging out with those that give you energy.

10.01.2022 Why mums need their own goals. Do you wake up have your brekky, go to work, come home and do the same old thing every day? For some of you thats exactly what... you want, although sometimes life takes over and we begin to exist and forget to live. For all the parents out there, ensure you are working on a goal for yourself and create a life where you want to get out of bed in the morning.

10.01.2022 One of the favourite parts of a program is when you have an exceptional speaker that has been through many challenges although makes a choice to look after her self, caring enough about nurturing ones self, showing gratitude, how to get through adversity in tough times, building your support crew around you, showing up everyday, asking for help and knowing that you can come through the other end still shining your positive self on this land in which we live. Along with continuous learning to up-skill yourself and many more inspiring words of advice from Louisa Thomas at The Finishing Touch. Thank you Louisa for being part of the program today. Absolutely inspiring words you shared today.

10.01.2022 There is nothing more rewarding in life than hearing from a past participant taking action and gaining control over her future. So blessed to do what I do and love my job! "Thank you for all your support throughout the programI found it extremely worthwhile. Since starting Springboard Ive prioritised my mental and physical health so much more. Following our last session Ive made lots of personal progressIm acting in a higher role and loving it, Ive started taekwondo (I...ve always wanted to do martial arts and its great exercise and fun!) and Ive got my first Toastmasters meeting tomorrow night (public speaking is a fear of mine that I want to tackle). Springboard provided the opportunity to reflect and check in with myself, identify what I want from life, and improve myself. Thank you, and all the best!" Rebecca, Office of Environment and Heritage, Sydney, 2018 Springboard Program

09.01.2022 Come join us here in Sydney for the next Public Springboard Womens Development Program. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/springboard-womens-developm

08.01.2022 Part of your future success depends on your image. Not only what you wear and how we non-verbally present ourselves. Although the words in which we speak, our c...ommunication and conversations with each other. How we represent ourselves. One element in the way we speak is about using positive language for ourselves as much as others. Learning to articulate that we are good, inclusive or capable of something is ok. Something women and Im sure some men find it hard to do without going over the top or the other extreme of underselling ourselves, our contribution or involvement. Here are some key powerful and attractive words the women of the RBA and APRA came up with on Tuesday. BTW - its ok to blow your own trumpet from time to time

08.01.2022 Dont let other peoples words drag you down. Your own inner thoughts are what matters.

08.01.2022 I was a tad excited this morning when my son read out his school project questionnaire. Loving the natural gender equality he has shown here. When I asked him what made him put both genders on the card with both Batman and Batgirl.... (I agree why did I have to ask, although I was curious as I had no part in shaping his mind). His reply was, I had to make sure if a girl was playing the game that she felt included. Its not just boys mum. It was obvious to him that this is how we should think. Men/Women #equal Lets hope society doesnt strip this away as his innocent mind develops.

06.01.2022 Do you make judgement on an instant interaction with someone? Have you ever made the wrong judgement? Me too. Take a peek at my key learning from being young and care free to opening my mind up and being a better person from a chance encounter with an inspiring woman.... #inclusion #inspiringwomen #personalgrowth #creatingchange #diversityandinclusion

05.01.2022 What an inspiring and diverse group of women from Environment, Energy and Science on the Springboard Womens Development Program we wrapped up yesterday. Spendi...ng sixteen weeks together, fostering their self-development, gaining strength from their connections, opening their minds with empathy and sharing how others lead, creating positive self-talk, Connecting with themselves, responding to lifes challenges, Sharing their future plans with their managers, speaking up in the right light and much more. It has been wonderful to create a space where women feel safe and supported whilst planning their future, especially through these trying times. Wishing them all the very best for their future development. #diversityandinclusion #engagedemployees #womensdevelopment #springboardwomensdevelopmentprogram #backingyourself #selfdevelopment

05.01.2022 With more awareness around mental health then ever before, today and every day following we want to be checking in with our friends, families and colleagues to really be there for each other in these trying times. When asking are you ok? Dont leave it as a flying comment. Ask twice, yes twice! Have sincerity to it and warmth, really open up to them that you are there to listen without judgement. ...
