As you probably have seen in the media some people who were infected with COVID-19 visited Springfield and sorrunding areas and today Friday 31/07/2020 there was one more case confirmed at Bellbird Park. The Government will monitor develpments for the next fourteen days and we will know then the appropriate time to reopen. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding

06.01.2022 The Springfield Ipswich Chess Club is humbled and proud in knowing that we are following the steps of chess giants in the area. One such giant was Mr. Gruber Karl. An Austrian born chess player who successfully played in the old Ipswich Chess Club some fifty years ago between 1960 and 1969. Sadly, he passed away on Sunday 1st March 2020. We pass our condolences to his family and friends. If anybody who reads this post knows something about Gruber Karl and would like share it please feel welcome to do so.
