24.01.2022 BJRU Post. NEWS | Great news from the Queensland Government regarding funding for our Clubs and for new players whose families have been affected by Covid-19. The $2000 COVID SAFE Active Clubs Kickstart will assist our Clubs towards sanitising costs. Grant applications will open Monday morning (tomorrow).... Families who have been impacted financially by Covid-19, and can provide supporting documentation, will be eligible to apply for the $150 Fair Play Voucher towards registration fees. https://www.qld.gov.au/recrea/sports/funding/fairplay/apply The BJRU will be stepping up our communications and support to our member Clubs this week, to ensure our Clubs are prepared for a safe return to training from June 13. 23.01.2022 NEWS | There has been concern raised about the postponement of rugby training and games until May, leading to a call for player refunds. As such, to assist club...s in maintaining some stability and certainty that our competition is not cancelled, a freeze will be placed on all player levy refunds other than those transferring from one club to another. Refund requests that have already been received will be processed. 21.01.2022 On Saturday the 12/12/2020 our club is having a muster for Seniors players and we encourage all players to bring their family. If you are interested in playing Seniors rugby (Social grade) in 2021 come on down to our club and meet some of the old and new player's from season 2020 and also the new President and new Committee of the Springfield Hawks rugby club. 09.01.2022 To all our Hawks community, It is with great sadness i am announcing the Springfield Lakes Hawks Junior Club will not be participating in the 2020 Rugby season. It has been a chaotic few months for everybody and the Covid-19 pandemic has affected us all in some way. ... Covid-19 has definitely impacted our club, our families and our wonderful sponsors. With this in mind, after much discussion with committee, coaches, managers and some families we had to make the hard decision to not participate this season. However, this is also an opportunity for us to really focus on rebuilding for next season. We have a few things in mind closer to the end of the year and with the support of the Bjru we will back to business as usual in 2021 Any families who have paid registration fees, these can automatically be transferred to another club. 06.01.2022 Our amazing under 15 team over the past several weeks have been extremely creative while being in isolation, still keeping up with their fitness and training, motivating others and a bit of fun during a trying time.
