We love you all immensely Second, we will be CLOSED on Friday the 27th of December. As we are not working on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, we will require Friday the 27th to pick and pack fruit, thus nothing will be fully ready during that day. We will be open Saturday ONLY, from 9am-5pm for business as usual. To confirm; Friday - CLOSED Saturday - 9am-5pm Will leave you all with a little Spring Hill Orchard Easter egg. Found this Mumma bird nesting her eggs in our plum tree. Best of luck Mumma bird, we will watch over you and protect you as best we can

25.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers You might notice a change as you pull into the driveway this coming Friday/Saturday! Netting the persimmons against fruit fly, sunburn, wind damage etc etc... A heap of work goes into the annual persimmon netting but the net return in reduction of Grade 2 and completely ruined fruit is worth it. Grade 1 pack out 65-70% (without nets) ----> 90+% (with nets). 1 row down, 25 more to go

24.01.2022 Good afternoon fruit lovers Please read the link below (posted yesterday) as it contains important information regarding sanitary measures that will be implemented whilst the Corona Virus is in play. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=891260411305935&id=229840244114625...Continue reading

23.01.2022 Shhhhhh......... We have a little secret that we have been working on....... A trial variety that just needs to pass the flavour test...... No guarantees yet. Apricot season MAY just have been extended ... Reminder - we are closed on Friday and Saturday the 3rd & 4th of January. Open again Friday and Saturday the 10th and 11th of January. We can let you know that one of your favourite varieties of nectarines will be ready, the sugar-spot ladden Ruby Diamond. Full details will be posted 8th-9th of January.

22.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers We need some help from our wonderful customers for this coming weekend (6tg & 7th of March) so please share and tag in this post as you see applicable Unfortunately the recent heavy rains have damaged the skin surface (pics attached) on a LOT of peaches and nectarines, making them all unsuitable for a Grade 1.... On top of this much of the fruit simply falls on the ground and is wasted (unsuitable in Food Safety programs for coming in contact with the ground) There is still one redeeming feature of the fruit, it still eats magnificently. Very sweet and very juicy. The visual appearance of the fruit is the only problem. As such, we will be putting this fruit up for sale this weekend as a Grade 2 for just $2/kg ($4 per 2kg pre-packed tray). Friday 1pm-5pm Saturday 9am-5pm 195 Urch Road Roleystone We are cash only due to troublesome internet issues. This is below cost of production, but we are primarily happy to see the fruit not being wasted and if we are able to recoup some of the costs, that is just a bonus. A full post on all Grade 1 and Grade 2 offerings and prices will be placed up on Thursday. If you, or anyone you know, are interested in some fantastic eating fruit that just has rain damaged skin then please SHARE this post and/or TAG any friends.

20.01.2022 Sometimes nature leaves us these beautiful little surprises in the orchard. Often they come at the right time. We could be having a sh!tty day or its stinking hot, yet finding something as simple and precious as some tiny bird eggs in a nest can put a smile on your face and things seem to get better from there......

18.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers We just wanted to take a moment out of our day off to thank you for your support Friday afternoon and Saturday to help us move a lot of rain damaged fruit. It genuinely warms our hearts that our amazing customers never fail to come to our aid whenever we require that extra effort to help overcome any seasonal obstacles.... The willingness that you all showed to overlook the obvious imperfections of the rain damage really put a smile on our faces. You girls and guys are the BEST. THANK YOU so much again!

Saturday November 7th Both days will be 1pm - 5pm We are cash only again. We have had a tel-co out to try to remedy the situation but the wires running up Urch Rd and through our property are so old and decrepit that there is no chance of reliable service. As we move to the Christmas season we will move the Saturday opening time to 9am Unfortunately we are too busy for now to open any day in the morning. Sundays, as per usual we will be closed. Our initial range for sale will be; Peaches (Grade 1&2) Nectarines (Grade 1&2) Jarrah honey Marri honey Creamed honey (new line!) Creamed CINNAMON honey (new line!) Lemons Limes Fruit Fly netting Katek fertiliser Volcanic dirt NPK Blue fertiliser Apricots will follow 2 weeks later our initial opening. Tasting samples will be available on the honey ranges. The price of peaches and nectarines are super expensive at the moment. Things could change a lot in between now and then, so there is little reason to place a price on them now, when the prices could drop in the next 10 days. We look forward to seeing you all again November 6 & 7th Look for our post NEXT WEEK with prices

17.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers Thank you all so much for your kind comments and support yesterday afternoon into today. We know, and fully appreciate, that we have the best customers in the world and one person making a bad decision doesn't change that. ... The sad part is, if the lady spotted stealing extra apricots from our trees wanted some and didn't have the money for them, or couldn't afford them, we would have absolutely worked something out with her. Onwards and upwards nothing can dampen our spirits when we are blessed to have such shows of kindness displayed in the comments below in the original post We won't be taking any formal punitive measures, every one makes a mistake, including us! Have a great weekend all, and drive safely in the wet weather. Link below. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1073694943062480&id=229840244114625

17.01.2022 Good afternoon fruit lovers We are so pleased to let you all know that we will be open this Friday and Saturday afternoons! Hours listed below. For the time being we will not be open Friday or Saturday morning, as per usual prior to Christmas. Unfortunately, we are far too busy at this time of year to open the morning hours.... This will change back to mornings also being open around Christmas. Friday 1pm-5pm Saturday 1pm-5pm. 195 Urch Road, Roleystone. 15.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Please share this so that all possible customers may see this. Good morning fruit lovers ... Given the latest comments from Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, relating to the Corona Virus we have decided to close our farm gate sales for the season, effective immediately. Obviously the situation is critical and developing at a rapid rate. The risk of contamination to ourselves and our customers has been deemed too great at a family meeting that was held this morning. We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you for all your support over 2019-2020. Please take care of the health of yourselves, family and friends. Hopefully the situation allows for us to open again in November 2020

14.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers Just a sneak peak of what to expect this weekend. The first, exclusive pics of the Golden Sweet apricots, ripening to perfection on our trees. Plus a little sneak peak of the plums that will be ready to go ... You will not eat a juicier, sweeter apricot than a Spring Hill Orchard grown Golden Sweet, a perfect treat for this week's hot weather. Unfortunately for the apricot lovers, this will be a short apricot season , so don't miss out! We usually don't start picking GS until between Christmas and New Year. This year is tracking 2+ weeks early, so we commence harvest for Friday and Saturday. One more little secret for you all. This year we will be planting an apricot that is the equal, if not superior, to the GS. We can't say much more at this point, but we guarantee this one will blow your mind and your tastebuds. 14.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers Just a quick message of THANKS to everyone who showed up to support us Friday and Saturday. We appreciate it so much.... APRICOTS will be added to the line up this week. Full details will be posted Wednesday. Please spare a thought for our wonderful friends at Irymple Orchard. https://www.facebook.com/irympleorchardroleystone/ The rain tomorrow will cause significant splitting of the current variety of cherries. They are working their butts off today to get as much fruit off as possible before the rain. Support them this weekend at 128 Irymple Road, Roleystone It hasn't been an ideal start to the season, being 3 weeks early, so the acid would be slightly higher than normal and the sugars a touch lower. But we have made the best out of adversity and things only get better from here

08.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers IMPORTANT INFORMATION A quick mid week note about some safety protocols we will be implementing whilst the Corona Virus is in play.... We care about the health and safety you and your family every bit as much as we care about our own. That is precisely why the following measures will be in place for Friday afternoon and Saturday's service; - Sanitisation of your hands will be required prior to entry of the shed. We will have a sanitising foam dispenser at the shed entry point, or you are free to bring your own. Either way, it is now a condition of entry. We will not allow touching of produce, or even entry for that matter, unless your hands have been sanitised. - In line with Australian Government guidelines and those undertaken by other Australian employers, if you have travelled overseas within the past 14 days we respectfully request that you maintain the 14 day self-isolation - If you are suffering with symptoms that reflect those of the Corona Virus..... Fever, cough & headache please do not bring this on to our property. We do not consider these rules an overreaction, but sensible restrictions to minimise the risk of spreading the virus. If you do consider this an overreaction. Tough luck. Our property, our business. Our rules We have a 91 year old Nonna on the property with Dementia, who would have zero chance off fighting off any infection. Any deliberate flaunting of these rules may just see you banned for being reckless with health and safety measures on our property. We will not be a party to endangering the health of the many families and children that visit us each week. With these measures we are doing everything reasonably possible to keep everyone safe. A full post will be put up tomorrow with all offerings and prices

07.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers As many of you would know, the honey that we stock is from bee hives on-site in our surrounding bushland, that are owned, diligently cared for and collected by our family members, Aaron & Ebony Kain. They have started up their own Stony Brook Honey facebook page to help spread the knowledge of their products and business.... Here is the link, if you would like to follow them https://www.facebook.com/Stony-Brook-Honey-109483527264312/

06.01.2022 Good afternoon fruit lovers Unfortunately one of our customers was spotted stealing apricots from our trees along the driveway, on their way out. It is reported that numerous bags were filled.... We have one witness, who also said that a couple of other cars were driving out as the theft was occurring. We have car details and a description of the person. If anyone else witnessed this and can provide further collaborative details, that would be immensely appreciated. It's not even about the fruit or the money, we have given away enough free fruit to kids, schools, customers, community groups etc to prove that money is the last thing that motivates us. It is about the lack of respect. We aren't even angry, just disappointed, that's all.

05.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers For the first time this season we will have the indomitable TEAGAN BLUE plum. Everyone's favourite. Big, fleshy, juicy. The grapes this week are honestly the sweetest and crispest grapes that we have stocked on the shelves....Continue reading

04.01.2022 Good morning fruit lovers An early week announcement that this will be the final weekend that we will be open for public sales. This decision has weighed heavily upon our minds, but we feel that we need to find the balance of protecting the health of our younger and elderly family members but also providing you with the opportunity to stock up on some fresh fruit for the coming weeks.... The safety measures from last week will again be in place it will be mandatory for you to sanitise your hands at the Hand Wash station at the door. if you have travelled overseas OR interstate in the past 2 weeks, do not attend this week's sales. if you feel unwell at all with cold/flu like symptoms, do not attend this week's sales. To assist with the 'social distancing' aspect of public safety we will be spreading our range of fruit across a larger area of the shed Unfortunately the Corona Virus has had a terrible impact of the global stage and we wish to minimise the impact on our local community. This week we will definitely have available fresh; Nectarines Grapes Apples Pears Plums Pluots Mangoes (limited) Peaches are a possibility, but not guaranteed. Persimmons are unlikely. I will post a full details on Thursday. We hope that you all stay safe and well
