03.01.2022 Functional training... This video made me laugh. In all seriousness though functional training is brilliant but just because a certain exercise is right for one person doesnt mean its right for you. ... Here's 3 quick tips to think about 1) Do you have any current injuries- An injury can mean compensation in different muscles when you do particular exercises. This can lead to secondary injuries which none of us want. Get this fixed and get massive gains in your workouts. 2) Muscle imbalances - Take the safety clips off your bench press, squats etc Do your weights slide off one side? If you do you may have some significant imbalances again causing overload injuries taking you out of training which no one wants. 3) Are you training in the most efficient way ? Too many people feel the urge to carry weights while doing squats or lunges without looking at can they do the movement effectively. Build the fundamentals of movment first you will still get an effective functional movement. Gain control and confidence then add the load as you go .
