15.01.2022 Piglet Visit Junior Kindy have shown an interest in animals. Miss Kirsty extended this by bringing in a 4 week old Piglet for the children to get some hands on learning and obviously have a little cuddle.

09.01.2022 V IS FOR VOLCANO The pre prep group worked to create a volcano with sand, adding some rocks and trees for decorations. They then performed an experiment using vinegar, water, washing up detergent and bi carb soda to create a volcanic eruption. As the vinegar mixed with the other ingredients, it caused a reaction where it bubbled up and out of the top just like a real volcano! As the ‘lava’ poured down the side of the volcano, the children observed that it was causing the trees and rocks to fall down and also create cracks and holes in the sides. This invoked so many amazing discussions about what damage a real volcano would create.

05.01.2022 This week the pre prep children have linked their show and share to be bring something that starts with the same letter as your name. Today Adelaide bought along her dad who is in the army. He told us all about what he does and even came with equipment such as helmets and backpacks for the children to investigate and try on. Show and share encourages the children to develop confidence when talking in front of their peers as well as to think about appropriate questions related to the information they have seen. We can wait to see what other fantastic items and ideas our Friends will be sharing with us.
