20.01.2022 2019 Student Member School Council Nominations The Department of Education have mandated that Secondary School's must elect two student members to their School Council. The two positions available are a 2 year tenure. Please return the completed nomination form by 4.00pm, Monday 25th February. All students in Year 7 and above are eligible to be nominated and once elected are required to attend all meetings. The School Council currently meets from 1 - 2.30pm on a Tuesday after...noon 8 times per year (2 times per term). Meeting times could be subject to change. Please note School Captains are not automatic council members. On compass you will find the fact sheets for both students and parents outlining the roles and responsibilities of Student Council Members. Also a nomination form if you are interested in one of the positions. If there are more nominations than available positions we will need to run an election. Nomination forms are available on compass and must be completed and handed into the main school office by 4.00pm, Monday 25th February. ... The following positions are available: 5 Parent Member Category (3 x2 year tenure, 2 x1 year tenure) 1 DET Staff Member Category (2 year tenure) 1 Community Member Category (2 year tenure) 2 Student Member Category (2 year tenure) The School Council has a most important role in developing the future direction of our College, especially in the areas of educational policies, finances and facilities. If we receive more nominations than places available, a ballot will take place and nominees will be asked to write a short bio about themselves which will be distributed to families along with a ballot paper. 08.01.2022 School Photos - Monday February 11th School Photo Day is next Monday 11th of February. Students will receive an individualised photo envelope for ordering in Homegroup. Instructions for ordering photos are printed on the front. Please note that the deadline for ordering photos has been extended until February 22nd. No surcharge will be added for orders before that date.... If students have PE scheduled on Monday they should come in their full school uniform and bring their PE uniform in their bags to change into later. 07.01.2022 Textiles Room open Mondays From Monday 18th March the Textiles room (D05) will be open for student use, 3pm until 4pm on Monday afternoons. This supervised time can be used for completing book work, using the sewing machines for a class task or for you own personal project. Notifications will be given via the news feed if a particular session will not run.
07.01.2022 Year 9 Elective Program Information Hi, On compass is information regarding the Middle Years Course Selection process. All students in Year 9 are expected to read through the handbook and make decisions regarding their preferences for electives in 2020. ... Students should download each of the three documents: 2019 Middle Years Course Selection Handbook 2019 Year 9 Elective Preferences Form 2019 Year 9 Soccer Skills & Coaching expression of interest form Regarding the Year 9 Elective Preferences Form: All students in Year 9 must study at least two semesters of Arts and two semesters of Design & Technology subjects. In addition, students may choose to select courses from the "Optional Elective Block". In this block: Students can select to study Italian as a year-long program. Alternately, students can select either or both of the Duke of Edinburgh and City Experience programs. Finally, students can submit to be part of the Soccer Skills & Coaching program. Please note that these "Optional Electives" do not take the place of electives in the Arts or Design & Technology programs. If students do not wish to elect any of the "Optional Electives" they will be undertake additional studies in the first and second blocks, according to their preferences. This form needs to be completed and submitted to the front reception by Friday 3rd August 2019. All students are also required to complete a digital application using the online access provided to them. 06.01.2022 Welcome all to the 2019 school year, The Health and PE team are excited for another year of sporting events and allowing students to represent the college. We welcome Miss Hayes and Miss Teeken to our department and we look forward to working with them this year and beyond. Students are asked to sign up to their desired sports using a Google Form located on the college website. From there, teachers can organise trials and training for each team. Sport for the lower year level...s doesn't start up until Term 2 but for Years 10 and 11, we are right into it from now. Options for Term 1 sports include senior volleyball, senior futsal, intermediate volleyball, intermediate cricket and individual swimming events. Can students in Year 10 and 11 please sign up to these sports using the link on the website by Monday 11th Feb. The link is here aswell. 03.01.2022 Emergency Drill Dear Parents, As part of our Emermgency Management plan we are required to run a number of Emergency response drills throughout the year. Emergency response drills provide the opportunity for our school to ensure the procedures we have in place are practical and that staff with responsibilities during an emergency have the knowledge to carry out their role....
