25.01.2022 Come in and taste the new release Springs Road KI Chardonnay (it's the 2019). The eagle-eyed among you, or at least the ones with your glasses close to hand will notice the bottle shot is of the 2018 wine. I haven't quite got organised to get the 2019 bottle shot sorted out yet. The Chardonnay is available for tasting in our cellar door. We are offering a seated tasting of the Springs Road KI wines (4 wines including the Chardonnay) and bottle sales of our friends from over t...he water from Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines We also have yummy nibbles from Second Valley Cheese Company Ashbri Kangaroo Island SA and #littleacresfood Cellar door is open daily 12-5pm. Entry off the Playford Highway opposite number 761 - it's a long driveway all the way to the top. We'll see you there. #kangarooisland #kangarooislandwines Authentic Kangaroo Island

25.01.2022 Here's vineyard man Joch having a beer and sitting on his favourite tractor, without a care in the word. This was pre- 2020 obviously. We are celebrating over on the mainland however, even with other stuff going on. Our Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines McLaren Vale vineyards have been organic for 25 years this year, and it's only taken me till August to do the maths and work this out. Other things on our minds I guess. We have brought our organic ways over to our Springs Road KI vineyards and have been running things this way ever since we bought them in 2016. #bosworth25organic #organicwines #organic #kangarooislandwines Authentic Kangaroo Island

24.01.2022 Come and kick back at the Springs Road cellar door - we have wine, snacks, pale ale and a view. And a new comfy day bed. Check out Sarah from Kangaroo Island Spirits showing us how chilling is done. Wine by Springs Road and Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines, pate by Little Acre Foods, cheese by Second Valley Cheese Company, other bits and bobs by Ashbri Kangaroo Island SA Follow the yellow brick road up off the Playford Highway opposite 761 all the way to the top. ... See you there

22.01.2022 Seated tastings at Springs Road wines come and taste through our KI wines we are open 12-4pm Wednesday to Sunday. Watch the car park it sounds a bit boggy! Which means we’ve had some rain! #kangarooislandwine #authentickangarooisland

21.01.2022 What a view from our deck looking south-ish. Thanks to resident KI photographer Dean Wiles for the shot. You can come and admire this view at our cellar door from 12-4pm Wednesday to Sunday. Make a day of it while you are in the Cygnet River area and visit some of the other businesses in the district. #kangarooisland #kangarooislandwines South Australia Authentic Kangaroo Island The Islander Estate Vineyards Kangaroo Island Spirits

21.01.2022 This is the working one-stand shearing shed at Springs Road. We used this shed, and other shearing sheds as inspiration for the design of the cellar door here at Springs Road. Simple and functional and made of heritage galv which will weather gradually over time. Thanks Dean Wiles Images from a Different Perspective for the shot.

20.01.2022 Here's an article from Australia's Wine Business Magazine (WBM) about Joch and Louise's 25 years of being organic over at Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines in McLaren Vale. They brought their old-fangled organic ways to the vineyards at Springs Road too, although less use of the undervine dodge plough and rotary hoe to keep weeds under control (the method in McLaren Vale), more sheep in the vineyards to munch the weeds. The intention is the same however. The school hol...idays are nearly upon us and the Springs Road cellar door will be open daily 12-5pm for seated tastings and some lovely snacks. Come and see the team! #bosworth25organic #organic #kangarooislandwines #kangarooisland South Australia

20.01.2022 I liked this shot by Dean Wiles of our cellar door so much I got a big canvas made of it, ready to go on the wall to cover up the ugly electricity box. Nice one Dean Cellar door is open 12-4pm Wednesday-Sunday at this stage! Authentic Kangaroo Island #kangarooisland #kangarooislandwines

19.01.2022 We have had a lot of rain here at Springs Road which is great for the vineyard and trees and birds etc but not if you want to come and visit and don't have 4WD. We will be addressing this issue ASAP! In the meantime keep an eye on FB and Insta to see whether we are opening the bottom gate or not... #kangarooisland Authentic Kangaroo Island

17.01.2022 Here is Joch over on the mainland at Bosworth HQ talking about the 25 years of being organic in both the vineyards and the winery. The Springs Road site is different in many ways, but we are still bringing our organic principles to bear on the vineyards and land.

16.01.2022 Cold weather and rain, perfect with red wine: We have a special August 6 pack available at the moment, 2 bottles each of the Springs Road Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon for $180.00 delivered to your door anywhere in Australia....

14.01.2022 I often get asked how does Springs Road Kangaroo Island fit in with its friend over the water at Battle of Bosworth and Springs Seed Wines in McLaren Vale. Often I can't answer without having a long think and a scratch of the head. Here is the best answer

14.01.2022 You might have missed this one so I have uploaded again. What to expect when you come to our cellar door. Stay off the moors, stick to the roads (path) and find your way to the cellar door!

13.01.2022 We are closed for the 6 day lockdown but open for online orders https://www.bosworthwines.com.au/Wines/Springs-Road-Wine

12.01.2022 The Loch Ness Monster lives - in our bottom dam! No, this is Roger, former owner and planter of the vineyards here at Springs Road manning up and trying to clear the foot valve. Apparently we needed to do this so that we could prime the pump so we could pump water from here up to the main dam so we have water for the vines over summer. Either way you wouldn't catch me in the murky (cold) water for all the tea in China. Joch tells me the water is lovely for vines. I'll take ...his - and Roger's - word for it. Thanks Roger for the help. #kangarooisland #kangarooislandwine #

12.01.2022 It was a busy weekend at cellar door over the weekend. Great to see Tim Cawte over here thanks for popping in Tim. Tim resides just around the corner from Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines on Gaffney Road. He had a lovely time! Thanks Ruth Loechel for looking after Tim and his gang. And on another note, this week is the Aussie Backyard bird count. ... Make sure you download the app and start counting. Make sure you have your glasses to hand. The first bird I spotted while having my coffee on the deck here at SRKI was a superb fairy wren. The little male is always popping into cellar door when the door is open. He loves a red! #aussiebirdcount #kangarooisland #wine

12.01.2022 Now I know that Father's Day is over for another year, but our Gypsy shines on throughout the year to bring good times to all who taste it. We do have a few of our McLaren Vale Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines at the Springs Road cellar door - just to mix it up a bit, and Gypsy is there too. If you ask nicely at cellar door, I think there might be a cheeky special if you buy 3 bottles of the Gypsy (and the same deal works for 3 bottles of the Spring Seed 'Poppy' Pin...ot Grigio. Cheers

12.01.2022 #kangarooislandwines Here’s a quick look at the vineyards as we were here to do some videoing for one of our export customers as they’ve got a online tasting coming up soon. Springs Road is looking fantastic! The dam is full. The sheep are shorn and the ‘lawn’ outside cellar door has been mown. We are open 7 days now from 12-5pm for seated tastings of our Authentic Kangaroo Island wines. ... Why don’t you follow the drive way off the Playford Highway at 761 up to cellar Door. We’ll be waiting at the top for you! #wine #kangarooislandwines

06.01.2022 This is Leon from Leicester who runs a gin tour company @Gin Journey in London while based in Sydney! Covid means you can do anything these days, doesn’t it? Leon used to play rugby for Leicester and played against a team ( I think) from Market Bosworth which is close to the site of Battle of Bosworth Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines correct me if I’m wrong Leon. Leon reckons he’s found the perfect match for our Springs Road Cabernet Sauvignon. As you you know every...thing is subjective, food and wine matching probably more so. Whatever floats your boat Leon! Thanks for visiting us and enjoy the rest of your trip. Authentic Kangaroo Island #kangarooisland #kangarooislandwines

Simple pleasures - (although the Chardonnay is a complex oaked style... ) Come up and try it as part of a Kangaroo Island seated tasting flight. We have guest wines from Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines and cheese from Second Valley Cheese Company amongst others. Authentic Kangaroo Island #kangarooisland

01.01.2022 Who are these Springs Road people, and what do they do? What does their cellar door look like? Answers to the above questions can be found in a short bit of footage that me and the sausage dog filmed the other day at the cellar door with the aid of Blair Wickham . It was a gorgeous day on the island and you can see it in the footage. Come up and see us and have a look and try some wines. We are open 12-5pm for seated tastings of the Springs Road KI wines, and bottle sales of ...our 'Guest Stars' from Battle of Bosworth and Spring Seed Wines The sausage dog won't be there today, but a much wilder canine, Eddie who is there with his Master Erin Stacey; her first day. Good luck Erin!
