19.01.2022 Good Morning To our Springvale Little Athletics Community, We found out last week that one of our former athletes Rhys Tonkin was diagnosed with b-cell non-Hodgkin Burkitt lymphoma. He had surgery earlier this month and was found to have cancer in his blood. ... Rhys is now having 3 rounds of chemotherapy a day over about 8 weeks to clear it from his system. Rhys is in good spirits and doctors have advised of a positive outlook. Rhys's friend have created a page to Raise Money for Lymphoma Australia. 19.01.2022 Updated COVID safe procedures Please take a moment to read through our updated COVID safe procedures. These changes will be effective from this Friday and reflect the State’s easing of restrictions and changes from Little Athletics Victoria. What’s changed:... Spectators are now allowed in the Venue/track on Friday nights (the total number of people at the track will be capped at 500) Face masks must be carried by all people 12 and over. Face masks must be worn outside if physical distancing of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained Face masks must be worn inside at all times by all patrons 12 years of age and older. Athlete group sizes have been increased to 50 What’s stayed the same: You must still register with the QR code upon arrival/entry at Ross Reserve - adults from separate households will need to register their attendance separately (i.e. if grandparents don’t live with you and they attend the track they will need to complete a separate QR) Equipment cleaning/sterilisation protocols have not changed Athletes must sanitise hands before and after their field events, including after throws completed and after each jump If you would like more info, please refer to LAVic Protocols 24.11.20 (https://lavic.com.au/covid-19/
