25.01.2022 New chicken coop built and the 5 silver laced Wyandottes we hatched are out of the brooder and onto grass for the first time. I learnt a bit by making mistakes with this coop, got a few ideas on improvement for the next one!

24.01.2022 Isn’t it beautiful. Two full tanks; something we haven’t seen in a long time. (Please ignore the bugs that have found a swimming pool)

24.01.2022 We have been reminded that we never announced the names of the new golden lace chickens and rooster. Thank you everyone for all of your suggestions; they were awesome; and we have lots of ideas now for future use too. For these 3 we have decided to go with a Star Wars theme; and we have named them Princess Leia, Hen Solo, and Luke Skysquawker. ... Special thanks to Chris, Jas and Ash for these names

24.01.2022 Learning more about avocados today; did you know that every Hass avocado tree in the whole world comes originally from the one tree planted as a cross pollinated seed by Rudolph Hass in 1926 in California; and he sold them to friends and family and the local grocery store; who then sold them for $1 each (todays equivalent of $15) Now that would make an expensive smashed avo.

23.01.2022 A different way to grow your veggies. Even though carrots dont grow that way, even from seeds would be great to watch

23.01.2022 Sometimes baby wearing is the only way to get things done.

21.01.2022 Its forcast to be 32 degrees tomorrow; so today we made some ice blocks to freeze overnight for the chickens; with basil and parsley. Mr 3 wanted to share with the chickens and be the taste tester. #chickens #homegrownherbs #iceblocks #summerscoming

20.01.2022 We are now on YouCamp! You can view our listing for camping here https://youcamp.com/view/spring-winds If you've never heard of YouCamp before; check it out; its a website that lists hundreds of private properties to camp at; all over Australia. Instead of packing in with the masses at commercial camp sites, you can have a whole or a section of a private property all to yourself; and the money goes to those property owners; some of whom rely soly on their land for their incom...e. Next time you're planning a holiday, consider checking out YouCamp first, some places even have villas you can hire; for those not into camping. Right now we can only cater to the self-sufficient camper (or yuo can hire our camper trailer); but we hope one day to get the granny flat fixed up; and have other awesome features for those staying here. We can also help you out with a range of extras; including bbq washing machine; local knowledge and tours; farm fresh produce and breakfast baskets. See more

20.01.2022 Due to overwhelming popularity, we have had to close orders for avocados, pending confirmation of one final order. Thank you so much to everyone for your support, and to those who shared our post. Should we have any more available we will advise on the page.

17.01.2022 Big day in the garden, moved the Silver Lace teenagers in with their parents, built a run for the Gold Laces, planted a heap of plants and weeded, fertilised and mulched the back garden. The back will know about it tomorrow!

17.01.2022 We have had 2 new baby silver-laced Wyandottes this week. Mumma chicken is still sitting on a bunch of eggs; so we will wait and see if any more babies are born. These are our first chicks bred on the farm.

10.01.2022 It’s avo time! Late picking this year due to a new arrival in the family making us a little busy. Lucky it’s the off year so there wasn’t as many to pick.

09.01.2022 G'Day Folks. Here are 3 of the easiest DIY aquaponics systems configurations you can build yourself. All of these systems can be added to or tweaked to increase the amount of fish & veggies you can grow for you & your family.

02.01.2022 Our three newbies won at auction today. Now to choose names trying to get a name out of the three year old has given us Rooster, Chicken and Strawberry; Im dont think he quite understands the idea. Whats a good chicken and/or rooster name?

01.01.2022 Rainbow and sunset in the valley. What a view! We are hoping for some more rain over the next week to fill up the water tanks

01.01.2022 Some greens for the Silver Laced Dottes this morning. Sprouted after two weeks. #girlslovegreens #barleysprouts

01.01.2022 Avocados! Now that I have your attention; we will be at Pappinbarra Markets tomorrow from 9am-12pm selling our avocados; plus we have a few dozen egg available; and Kerrie will also have craft items and free Cardmaking. There are also lots of other amazing stalls run by the locals with awesome goodies to buy too. Hope to see you there l.

01.01.2022 One very protective Mumma and her babies. Marina decided a while ago that she wanted to be a Mumma, so we moved her into the brooder box Andy had made. She diligently sat on her eggs, and managed to hatch 7 of them; 5 who are still clucking along. So far these 5 seem healthy and growing well; so we will hopefully have the start of the next generation of Silver Laced Wyandottes living on the farm soon.
