24.01.2022 A long-time member, staff member and all-round lovely guy passed away today. Chris Daines (Dainsey) was always up for a chat and a laugh and loved to trade humorous insults with his mates. Chris, we will miss your cheeky grin around the course and we are glad to have so many happy memories of you. Vale Dainsey. xxx

24.01.2022 This is to let you know of the funeral arrangements for Chris Daines, our beloved member and staff member who passed away over the weekend. Chris funeral will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Church on Hawkesbury Road this Thursday at 11am. A burial will follow at Springwood Cemetery, then the Wake here at the Club from about 12.45pm. For regular Thursday golfers who wont be attending the wake, the Clubhouse will be closed from 12pm. Please return all scorecards to the Pro Shop.... Apologies for any inconvenience. I know Chris family are overwhelmed knowing how many people loved Chris and they would be delighted to see as many of you on Thursday as they can. It is going to be hard with current COVID restrictions in place as we are only permitted to have 100 people inside the Club at any one time. So the suggestion is that if you would like to come and honour Dainsey, please do, but maybe not at 12.45pm, but possibly arrive at 2/3 OClock once some guests start leaving. But of course for those that were closest to Chris please attend the Church service from 11am or come to the Club from 12.45. Chris family have asked that in lieu of flowers, they would greatly appreciate you making a donation to the Kidney Foundation in Chris name. 22.01.2022 We are delighted to say that the NSW Office of Sport and the Police Minister have given the okay for Golf to continue. THE COURSE IS BACK OPEN. We are very lucky to have a sport where we can strictly practice social distancing. All golf will be in pairs only, both competition and social play. ... We have in place rules that must be followed to the letter. If they arent, the member faces suspension or the guest faces expulsion and a ban from the Club and Course. 1. Single use Golf Carts - one person and one set of clubs per cart 2. NO removal of flag sticks - buffers are in the cups to prevent ball from dropping fully inside 3. Rakes have been removed from bunkers - players to please smooth with foot or club and prefer lie 4. Single marking of scorecards - mark own scores and competitor score 5. Social Distancing in Pro Shop and on the course 6. After you finish your round please leave the course immediately and return home. Good news.

16.01.2022 In line with guidance and advice from Golf NSW, the current restrictions will be eased at Springwood Golf Course from tomorrow. Rakes will be back in bunkers, you may take the flag out, you can swap cards again and 2 people not from the same household can share a cart. We are still adhering to all other distancing measures and ask that our members and guests do the same.

04.01.2022 As you would be aware, from today, golf can now be played in groups of 4. The Board of Directors have decided to allow people who live together to share a cart from now on as well. This decision is in line with advice from the NSW Department of Health. Please be aware that you may be required to prove your home address and the Pro-Shop staff have the final say. ... All other social-distancing measures are still firmly in place and any person that is caught not abiding by them will be removed from the Course.

03.01.2022 Sharing this to try and help support a beautiful local family that has suffered a terrible tragedy recently. On Saturday afternoon, the 6th of June 2020 Wayne Tailford was tragically and suddenly killed in an accident while he was riding home to his family on his bicycle along the Great Western Highway in Springwood. Please help support them if you can.
