25.01.2022 Just quietly putting it out there... but today is International Coffee Day. Make sure you enjoy a nice cup of coffee as you look after your children, grandchildren, great grand children and your Kalita/ Hario /v60/ Chemex/ Delterpress if you have one of those :)

24.01.2022 And the phone line dramas continue :) We have an exchange issue with our phone lines after the NBN Construction so if you have been trying to call us and/or left a message and we have not gotten back to you, please try again on Friday (hopefully to be all fixed by then). Sincere Apologies for this debacle.

23.01.2022 Not the greatest start to the Long Holidays but Springwood Physiotherapy would like to wish all our patients(past, present and future) a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. Our practice will be closed from the 20th December 2019 1pm and reopen from the 6th January 2020. Stay safe everyone and see you on the other side :)

22.01.2022 You have to admit, we have some pretty good walks around us. Hope everyone had a fantastic Queen's Birthday today and if you see someone waddling around the practice, you'll know why :)

22.01.2022 Our phone lines are down today due to nbn construction. Please leave a message and we will try to respond as quickly as we can.

22.01.2022 On behalf of the team, we wish you all a merry christmas and a smashing 2021 compared to 2020. 2020... a year where sports injuries declined and home renovation injuries increased (a lot of retaining walls were built and painting). We all made it through probably the most memorable year of our lives so enjoy the holidays!... Joseph Lee

20.01.2022 It has been awhile since the cars have aligned. A quote comes to mind. " Every cloud has a silver lining" :) If you have any niggling aches or know of someone complaining about their niggles, tell them to give us a call for an appointment!

19.01.2022 May this festive time be a time of self control from sugar, surviving the traffic and spending it with friends and family :) Springwood Physiotherapy will be closed on the Public Holidays Good Friday, Easter Monday and Anzac Day (Thursday) We will be open on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week so if you are needing to get some physio treatment from either Brett, Ruth or Joseph give us a call.

17.01.2022 Shout out to the mums out there including my own mother! To the kids as well, look after your mothers today :)

17.01.2022 Warning - GRAPHIC CONTENT One of the reasons why we always recommend trying conservative management before considering surgical options......

17.01.2022 Another birthday and another cake baked by Ruth :) Happy birthday Wendy

16.01.2022 And...we are back for 2019! We are starting the year strong with our phone lines being down this morning (again). We have diverted our number so if you need to make an appointment, give us a call again and we will answer.

16.01.2022 Another December, another year, another birthday, another gluten cake for Sharon. Happy birthday Shaza!

15.01.2022 For those who believe in the carpark predicting the future..... The Cronulla Sharks might win the Premiership this year. #gambleresponsibly

14.01.2022 Due to the developments of the Coronavirus, you will be noticing changes around the practice in regards to infection control and possible refusal of treatment if you appear unwell when attending the practice. We are not doing this to incite fear amongst the community, but to do our part in protecting the patients that come through the door as we work with the elderly and vulnerable population of Springwood and the Lower Mountains Community Oh, and we have toilet paper that you can use without worrying but we ask that you do not take it off the wall from us :)

14.01.2022 You have to admit, we have some pretty good walks around us. Hope everyone had a fantastic Queens Birthday today and if you see someone waddling around the practice, youll know why :)

14.01.2022 Is this your dog or does this dog look familiar?? We have had a visitor knocking on our door. Happy thursday :)

13.01.2022 Just another confirmation that we are still allowed to operate as per NSW Government guidelines :)

13.01.2022 After 19 years it is time to say farewell. We wish you all the best in your retirement . Thank you for tolerating the staff and keeping us in line especially in the early mornings when some ( Joseph) are half asleep. It is time now to pass the "baton" on to the latest addition to the gang. We welcome Wendy to the team and please make her feel welcome!

12.01.2022 And the Umenbergers have survived their Euro Trip. They are back to work this week so call in if you have been waiting for their return :)

12.01.2022 Countdown to 2021! On behalf of the team, we wish you a better year in 2021 and hope you have happiness and peace in yourself, your family and your spheres of influence. I won't lie... 2020 was a bit of a blur but we hustled on and became deeply humbled that the Lower Mountains Community supported us and still entrusted their health during a pandemic. Thankyou.... We promise to still focus on you in 2021. Still provide you with a smile when you come through our doors and still provide you with the best treatment an advice to get you back doing the things you love! Once again, Happy New Year and as I always say,, we hope to see you on the streets and not in the rooms :) Joseph Lee

11.01.2022 Springwood Physiotherapy would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope that today has been a day filled with ham, prawns, family and drinks in moderation. The practice will resume normal operations from the Monday 7th January 2019 and we look forward to getting you back on track doing the things you love. Let the celebrations continue!

09.01.2022 From Friday 15 May, the following will be allowed in NSW:

07.01.2022 Educational Tuesday http://bjsm.bmj.com/content/52/5/313 TOPIC: Arthroscopic surgery for osteoarthritis and degenerative meniscal tears for people over the age of 50.... There is now strong evidence to support conservative management for knee osteoarthritis and meniscal tears for people over the age of 50. When they compared arthroscopic versus conservative management, there was no difference in long term benefits at 1-2 years in pain and function. There were however better outcomes in the short term (less than 12 weeks). There were greater risks with an arthroscope such as DVT and infection compared to conservative management. So what can we make of this? 1. In the 1-2 years, there will be no difference to your pain and function surgery versus non surgery. 2. Surgery will alleviate your symptoms relatively quicker compared to conservative management but there are increased risk of DVT and infection with surgery. So before you rush into any surgical procedure for degenerative knee conditions, we recommend that you give physiotherapy a trial.

07.01.2022 At Springwood Physiotherapy we do regular checks on our equipment and staff to make sure that things are working well. For Example, we can now tell patients that they can have their lunch whilst having lumbar traction :) Oh and Sharon is working well as well.

06.01.2022 And our phone lines are fixed! NBN cut the wrong wire..

06.01.2022 Just a post to let all the community know that we are still open until we are recommended by our Governing Body - Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority. We are taking extra measures on cleaning and disinfecting common areas and you may notice a few other changes to the practice compared to last week in line with the new recommendations by the Government. Fear not, we have toilet paper too.

04.01.2022 Another year, another Christmas Party combined with Lithgow Physiotherapy. Thankyou Silks Brasserie for an amazing night and really nice food!

04.01.2022 With developments of COVID-19 in NSW, the Australian Physiotherapy Association and NSW Health has recommended that Practitioners wear masks. Masks will be available at the practice for patients to wear during your consultation. You will only see our eyes but rest assured, we are still smiling beneath the mask :)... We do request that if you feel unwell, to reschedule your appointments with us. If unsure, call us on 4751 2490.
