25.01.2022 We are excited to announce the launch of the PIM Gap Year at New Dunesk in 2021. This Gap Year Program aims to equip and engage young people with a heart for Ch...rist, preparing them to one day be committed congregation members and potential future elders in our country churches. Some of them may even begin a journey that may one day see them become a PIM worker or a rural pastor. For a long time, Gospel ministry in remote and rural parts of our country has called out for suitable workers. This program is a first step toward filling that need, sowing the seeds that will one day reap faithful Gospel workers. Our Gappies will live on site at New Dunesk, as they learn to work on the land, serve in the church and grow in their faith. They will develop practical vocational and life skills, undertake introductory theological training through the Timothy Partnership, and get involved in local church ministry. AUSTUDY is available. If you know someone 18-20 years old who might be interested, you can find more information here. We have only two places available for 2021, so don’t delay! Feel free to give Andrew a call on 0438 868 964 if you'd like to talk about this. More information is available here: https://pim.org.au/gap-year/

17.01.2022 LEBANON: (It is not the first time a country has come round for prayer in the OW calendar just as it faces a national emergency. We grieve with our brothers and... sisters in Lebanon today, and unite to intercede.) Lebanon has struggled to recover after 70 years of tragic communal wars and foreign interventions. Add to that the last year’s fervent political unrest, economic deterioration, Covid-19 pandemic, and now devastating explosions in Beirut which have left hundreds of thousands without homes, hundreds dead, and thousands injured. Meanwhile, over a million refugees are already seeking shelter in Lebanon. Across these challenges, Christians have cooperated to demonstrate compassion and Christ’s love to the many needy people. Praise God for this testimony and generosity. Christians and others have responded immediately to provide food, shelter, and more in the most recent crisis. But the needs of the nation are too great, and the people of Lebanon will not have the resources to continue such provisions long-term on their own. Pray for hope, and for help. Pray also for peace. http://www.operationworld.org/today (Image credit: REUTERS/Yara Abi Nader, 6 August 2020)
