14.01.2022 Rejuvenation for Springwood Town Centre A rejuvenation of Springwoods busy town centre is happening later this year. Improvements include the upgrading of thre...e pedestrian crossings to Australian standards (on Macquarie Road, between Raymond Rd and Rest Park), making it easier and safer for pedestrians to access local businesses. New street plantings including more crepe myrtle trees and new seating, will further revitalise Macquarie Street. In addition, parking spaces will be defined by markings, making it easier to park. Mayor Mark Greenhill: These upgrades will provide significant benefits for the Springwood community, including those living with disability, and the people who care for them. In addition, the thriving Springwood town centre will be refreshed, making it more appealing to both locals and visitors. Works are due to start in October, and will take up to 12 weeks to complete, depending on weather. Businesses will not need to close while the upgrade is completed and Macquarie Street will remain open for pedestrians to visit their favourite shops and cafes. Parts of the road may close temporarily, but one lane will remain open to traffic. For commuters and travellers, access to public transport, including trains, buses and taxis, will remain open. These works are in line with the Springwood Town Centre Masterplan, and are funded from the Western Parkland City Liveability Program. 08.01.2022 Hi Friends! Ive been madly stitching away and have quite a few masks now in stock and in store. I have both adults and childrens sizes.... They are first come, first served at this stage, as there are just too many enquiries to keep track of. All of these professionally made masks have 4 layers, with two filter layers. They have elastic which can be adjusted to size, and also a nose wire to ensure a perfect fit. They are $20 each. I recommend hand washing in hot, soapy water or machine washing in a garment bag. The shop will be open 9-5 on Thursday. If you miss out this time around, please dont stress as I am still sewing a gazillion more. Stay safe everyone! x

04.01.2022 We have been contacted by NSW Health at midday today (Tuesday) who have advised a visitor to Springwood Sports Club on Saturday 12 September between the hours o...f 1pm and 2pm has tested positive to Covid-19. As a result, Springwood Sports Club has been listed as a casual contactvenue. NSW Health defines a casual contact as: Someone who has been near a confirmed case of COVID-19 while they were infectious but is considered at lower risk than a close contact. They should still be vigilant and watch for symptoms but casual contacts are NOT REQUIRED to self-isolate in their homes UNLESS they develop symptoms. With this advice and under the category of casual contact, NSW Health has advised no further action is required from Springwood Sports Club and the club can remain open. Springwood Sports Club continues to be committed in following Department of Health Guidelines precisely and will continue to operate under our COVID-19 Plan, relevant health orders and the advice of NSW Health. Our COVID-19 Marshalls remain in place and our venues are cleaned multiple times a day and overnight each night. Lets continue to look after each other by keeping physical distances sanitising and maintaining good hand hygiene. We encourage all club members and our team to stay home if youre feeling unwell or develop any symptoms, get tested immediately and self-isolate.
