23.01.2022 I’ve just started reading @soulmodes and I’m already nodding my head in agreeing with everything that I’m reading! I’ve always thought I’m so ‘inconsistent’. One day I’m full of energy and decluttering the house, the next day I want to curl up with the kids and read books all day, then the next day I just want my own space!! This book explains that this ‘rhythm’ is actually completely normal and tells how to use these 4 Soul Modes to our advantage! #Repost @mim.dart.coaching... I’m not going to make any promises.... But knowing this info will probably change your life You have an innate, natural, internal calibration system. It’s genius. It’s already happening, you might just not have noticed it yet. Notice it, listen to it, track it and you will find a whole new understanding about who you already are. The constant flow of our four @soulmodes in our days and lives creates rest and productivity, connection and boundaries, balance and growth....our own natural, internal calibration system. 21.01.2022 So, what are 'Sprinkles of Joy'? It's not just the name of this little business, there's a story behind the name! Imagine the face of a child who receives a bowl of ice-cream with sprinkles on top...their face would burst into a grin from ear to ear!! Now imagine if the same child was presented a bowl of plain vanilla ice-cream...still happy, but probably not as ecstatic!! Plain vanilla ice-cream is a bit bland and boring. Now imagine a house that is just white, grey, cream..., no decorations and lacking colour... It would be like the plain vanilla ice-cream!! Now imagine the same house with pops of colour, artwork, bright cushions, coloured towels, cute storage, plants etc. That would be like the vanilla ice-cream with sprinkles!! So essentially, 'sprinkles' are the items that bring 'life' to a home, it's what makes it uniquely YOU! Once I'd gone through our house and totally minimised our belongings, it felt bland and lifeless, even hubby said it looked 'sterile' So I set about adding in bits and pieces that made me smile, just like the kid adding sprinkles on their ice-cream! If you scroll across to the next image, you'll see that the 'sprinkles' don't have to be anything expensive or crazy coloured, they're just items that are a little different to the normal 'neutral' colour palette! Everyone will be drawn to different 'sprinkles' depending on what makes them happy! Now, you can't just add 'sprinkles' to your home and expect it to look great! That would be like putting sprinkles on top of broccoli and expecting the kids to be excited about it! It is absolutely essential to start with a base of vanilla ice-cream (a home that is decluttered and organised) and THEN you can add the 'sprinkles'. That's why 'Mama's Jumbled House to Joyful Home Kickstart' isn't just focused on decorating your home... We first start with getting that beautiful creamy vanilla base, and then we focus on 'energising' our space with 'sprinkles'! Register now at www.sprinklesofjoy.com.au to discover more! 21.01.2022 A little reminder... There are no rules, do what you have to do to get through

20.01.2022 What if you could simply uplift your mood by exposing yourself to particular colours? Have you ever noticed that you'll be walking through the supermarket or clothing stores or even nature, and all of a sudden a particular colour will stand out and make you FEEL an emotion. That emotion will depend on the experiences that you associate with that colour. Doesn't it make sense then to surround ourselves with colours that make us happy? Why have a home that's just white, c...ream, grey and neutral? The first image is the kitchen in our current home! Yellow is my favourite colour, and it always makes me smile. If you feel like this would be a big commitment to make a change like this...let me tell you a secret!! The yellow backboard is just a simple, cheap piece of gyprock (wall lining) that we've painted and popped under there. If the next person who lives in our house isn't a fan, they can simply repaint it :) The second image is the kitchen in our first house. I didn't choose the purple colour, and at first I was a bit unsure, but I quickly grew to love it and the effect that it had on the space. If you'd love to learn how to confidently and intentionally choose colours for your home, hop on the wait list for our 5-day Jumbled House to Joyful Home Kickstart to be the first to know when we open the doors in October! >> www.sprinklesofjoy.com.au << See more

18.01.2022 Repost: @thefemaleentrepreneurmovement Don’t let your ice cream melt while counting somebody else’s sprinkles Oh I love this so much via @bestfriendsforfrosting We’re told this so much - don’t compare your life to what you see on Instagram, but it is so easy to get swept into pretty photos, pretty lives, businesses etc...... 18.01.2022 Flicking through the latest @homebeautiful I was stopped by this gorgeous hanging pot plant by @jonesandco_ Isn't it devine? I love the colours and the way they're layered together. I was inspired, that I had to put together a mood board for a pink inspired kitchen! The 4th (and final) ingredient of 'Mama's Jumbled to Joyful Recipe' is to Energise your space. This is where the 'Sprinkles of Joy' come into play! So what are 'Sprinkles of Joy'? Imagine a child looking at... plain vanilla icecream (meh, it's ok), now imagine the same child looking at vanilla icecream with SPRINKLES (eyes light up!)... Once your home is minimised and organised, you might find that it looks a little bland or plain (just like the plain vanilla icecream), however, if you ENERGISE your spaces with colours, quirky decor, textiles, artwork, plants etc then you get a space that is joyful. These 'decorative' items are the SPRINKLES, the items that make all the difference to how we feel in our space. But don't just go rushing out to @kmartaus or @targetaus !! You'll undo all the good work of minimising and organising if you just go out and purchase random items. You need to learn how to intentionally purchase items that match your vision and are going to create the right FEELING that you want for your home. Learn about all four ingredients (Visualise, Minimise, Organise and Energise) in our FREE 5-day Kickstart. Register NOW! www.sprinklesofjoy.com.au Credits: Kitchen by @studiodiy . 16.01.2022 Yesterday I told you a little story about the ‘sprinkles’ that we can add into our home... Today, I wanted to show you that the ‘sprinkles’ don’t have to mean spending lots of money... This lounge room in our previous house had dark grey carpeted floors, light grey couches, brown window frames and grey curtains...very much ‘plain vanilla ice cream’! With some cheap cushions from @ikea_australia and some flower stems picked from our bush outside, it transformed into a space that made me smile when I walked in! So, vanilla ice-cream with sprinkles! It’s about intentionally bringing items into your space that you love, and know will make you smile If you’d like to find out how to intentionally decorate, you can register for our FREE kickstart via our website. Begins on the 12th October.

15.01.2022 Put your hand up if your ‘plastics’ drawer is a little crazy at the moment! Mine has been a little crazy for the last few weeks, so today I had a clean out and tidy up! It’s so much nicer to open the drawer and be treated by an organised space! In this drawer we keep our spare set of dinnerware and cutlery so that we only have what we need in our ‘everyday’ drawer, otherwise we’d keep using all the clean plates until we run out, without washing them!! We also keep... the ice cream moulds and ice cube moulds in here. On the right-hand side is the bread tin, spare lunch boxes, more moulds and the mango cutter. In the middle is our food containers which I discovered are quite ‘light on’ at the moment!! I did find a few floating in the fridge and hubbies lunchbox though!! Tell me, what’s the current state of your ‘plastics’ drawer!? See more

15.01.2022 If you spend just one minute per day looking for an item...that amounts to 20 days over a lifetime that you’ve wasted!!! What!!? When I read this statistic from @clutterbug_me I was so surprised, that I had to do the maths myself, and it’s true!! How often are you searching for things that have been misplaced? Kids shoes, socks, keys, wallet, scissors, sticky tape...you name it!! What if you had an organising system that was easy to maintain? Not some fancy colour coded syste...m or a cupboard of pretty labelled boxes, but a system that is totally practical and easy to implement. For the past two years, I’ve been keeping the kids kindy bags in the wardrobe just around the corner from the kitchen. Problem is, even though the wardrobe is close, the bags always ended up kicking around the kitchen floor! One day, I thought ‘this is not working, either I force myself to always put them away into the wardrobe, or I just put up two hooks in the kitchen’. Well I got two cheap removable sticker hooks, and popped them on the wall in the kitchen and like magic, the bags get onto the hooks every afternoon, without fail. It might not look ‘pretty’, but having the bags off the kitchen floor and in a super convenient spot has made a huge difference. Want to know more practical organising tips for busy mums? 11.01.2022 Thanks to @theorganisingplatform for this great cleaning tip! Simply fill a microwaveable jug with half a cup of water, squeeze in one lemon, then pop in the whole lemon. Place in microwave for 3 minutes. ... Remove jug and glass tray. Wipe down inside of microwave, clean glass tray and then wipe the outside. Enjoy your clean, lemon scented microwave! Yes, my microwave was looking a little gross to start with! See more

10.01.2022 #Repost @declutteranddwell Have you ever said this? A messy house is just what happens when you have kids. #momlife... Now listen, we all have a mess somewhere in our homes whether it be big or small. I’m not advocating for perfectly clean homes because that just isn’t realistic. What I’m saying is that there are so many things in this world that we don’t have control over. Why not make the place that you *can* control a pretty great home to live in? A messy house doesn’t just happen when you have kids. A messy house begins with 1) clutter and 2) things out of place. Mama, it might not feel like it, but YOU have control over this.

09.01.2022 I want to show you just how simple it is to brighten up your home and energise your spaces! This is the entrance way in our previous house. It was the first wall that you looked at when you opened the door. Originally, it was just a blank white wall, then we added a couple of caricatures. Then, I decided to give some removable wallpaper a try!! At the time, my husband and I owned a sign-writing business, so we already had a large format printer and I just ordered a sa...mple roll of removable wallpaper. After whipping up a quick design, I printed it off and stuck it on the wall. I’m so happy with how it turned out! Everytime I walked into the house it made me smile This wall was also facing into our bedroom, so upon waking it was one of the first things I seen! I know it’s not everyone’s taste or style, but it shows how a couple metres of removable wallpaper can dramatically change a space. See more

07.01.2022 Please tell me I'm not the only one!!! Who else is counting down until the last day of packing lunchboxes for the year!? This year I've been pretty lucky with only 3 days of lunchboxes each week, but next year it'll be 5 days a week!! I think I need to build up my list of 'lunchbox food ideas'!!

05.01.2022 Ok, who here is watching @thehomeedit on @netflixanz or @netflix !? While I love watching these types of shows and love getting a heap of ideas...there’s a part of me that makes me feel like these shows set us up for unrealistic expectations... Check out the images I’ve shared... Tell me, could you actually colour code YOUR pantry? Do you have a collection of socks that represent the whole rainbow? Do you purchase bulk frozen packages that can be colour coded? ... Yes, these photos make for amazing Instagram photos, BUT is it achievable when you’re a busy Mum, with kids to look after, a home to keep clean, maybe a partner, possibly a job...? Putting pressure on ourselves to make our homes look like Instagram photos doesn’t seem ‘joyful’ to me!! Instead, I like to focus on simple changes that make a big difference to everyday life. Will a colour coded pantry actually make a huge difference in your life? Will it make the school morning run smoother? I’m doubtful... It’s not about creating a ‘picture perfect’ home, it’s about creating homes that not only look good, but make you feel good and are easy to maintain as well. Trust me, I would not waste my energy and time colour coding my pantry every time I do the shopping I’d rather have a simple system that gets every thing in the pantry quickly, and then get on with living life and being present with my kids! Tell me... A) would you like your pantry/sock drawer/entire home to look like these photos? B) do you actually think it would be easy to maintain, or would it just create more pressure in your already busy life? The Jumbled House to Joyful Home Kickstart is created especially for MUM’S Homes are meant for LIVING, not just photographing Join the wait list now at www.sprinklesofjoy.com.au

03.01.2022 Kids of 2020... Dolls wearing face masks... Growing up, I never would’ve thought to put a mask on my dolly... Now, my little ones think it’s just ‘normal’ to wear a face mask... What will our new ‘normal’ become? ... Mixed feelings about how much this pandemic is affecting our little ones... As we in South Aussie go into lockdown for the next 6 days I’m looking forward to spending quality time with the kids, catching up on jobs and taking the days a bit slower. However, I have concerns about my kids missing their friends and not developing those essential social skills before they head off to school. I can notice their confidence being knocked around every time we have to ‘restart’ kindy again... What a crazy year!

03.01.2022 Today I’ve been working on creating some ‘methods’ on how to visualise your space, for the Mama’s Jumbled House to Joyful Home Kickstart. Think of a recipe book, full of recipes you’ve never cooked... Who here is like me and needs to see the picture of the final dish so that you have something to motivate you and something to compare to? If we have the image of the completed dish, then we get an idea of the size the ingredients need to be chopped to, the consistency o...f the liquids, the presentation and so on. So what if you could create a visual image of how you want your home to look and feel before you made any changes? Once you’ve got the image of what you want to create, then you just need the right ingredients and the right methods to successfully create the image. In this FREE 5-day kickstart, you’ll discover the 4 ingredients to transform every space in your home, along with the step-by-step methods to guide you through each process. It’s as simple as selecting the right recipe, selecting the right method and then following the steps! Stay tuned to find out more! Yes, it’s a quirky idea, but trust me on this one! 01.01.2022 Inside the Jumbled House to Joyful Home Movement I’ve been sharing the setup of our entrance area. This little space is at the start of our hallway next to the door that we use to enter and exit the house 90% of the time. There’s a simple row of hooks for bags, jackets and the ‘essentials’ basket. Then a bench to sit on with shoes stored underneath. The big green box is my ‘drop box’. This is where I dump everything as we enter the house in the afternoon, then once the ‘after...noon toilet/snack/crazy kids rush’ has settled down, I grab the box and put everything away so I can take my time! How’s your entrance area working at the moment? Edit: These are some of the random things that end up in our drop box when we come inside... Special shells, little drawings from kindy, flowers, plates, bowls, dolls that come for a walk in the pram, hats, little things we’ve purchased, bills, library books etc. Previously, all these items were just dumped on the dining table or kitchen bench!! They’re ‘bits and pieces’ that need to be sorted, and when you rush through the door after kindy/school with 2 tired and hungry kids, you don’t have the time to put them all away! We all know that the ‘after kindy/school’ rush in the door is crazy Now, they all get chucked into the drop box and then sorted out later. See more
