Race fans can look forward to a series of monthly race meetings, showcasing SAs best in localised club show formats featuring a number of racing categories. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- PRACTICE A practice day will be held on the 3rd of October from 1pm to approx. 6.30pm. - Open to all divisions. - Drivers MUST nominate to the office via email: [email protected] with Driver Name & No. of Crew attending. - $30 pit entry p/person. - **No spectators allowed at the practice only due to Covid measures - Nominations strictly close on 30th September, 2020. We kindly remind everyone that social distancing must be maintained at the practice. If you are feeling unwell or have visited a COVID Hotspot in the last 14 days, please do not attend. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Racing will then kick-off 2 weeks later with our re-scheduled opening night. 2020 SEASON RACE DATES: Saturday, 17th October, 2020* Saturday, 7th November, 2020* Saturday, 5th December, 2020* Racing divisions to be announced. General admission tickets will be released prior to each event. *All dates are subject to COVID restrictions not being re-introduced in the meantime* At this stage, we then plan to re-assess the current situation by the end of November, where we will work towards determining our racing schedule for January, February & March 2021, and whether it will be viable to resume holding our larger format events involving interstate competitors - pending border restrictions: eg. USC Pink Night/World Record Demo Derby Attempt/and Australian Titles among others. Further re-assessment will then be made in mid-February for our April 2021 dates. Due to Federal and State Government guidelines, our venue will be capped at 1000 spectators for the time-being, with the pit area completely segregated for the entirety of each event to ensure the safety and well being of all. Further information will be released regarding ticket release dates, pricing and gate opening times, but tickets to all events will need to be purchased online via our ticketing website: www.speedwaytickets.com.au. Given the present situation, this measure is the best method which will enable us to collate contact details to meet contact tracing requirements. Once restrictions have been lifted, we anticipate that we will be able to return to our pre-Covid procedures. Many thanks also goes to the Murray Bridge Sporting Car Club & Motorcycle Club, Speedway Committee and our volunteers for their efforts in working with us to devise this plan to navigate through this COVID period. We also greatly appreciate all of the effort they have put in around the venue and track to get it ready in time for our first meeting. And lastly, we thank you, our supporters for your understanding and co-operation during these unprecedented times and look forward to having you back at MMS very soon! 22.01.2022 Hoping everyone is staying healthy and safe. Things are now moving at a fare pace, with the Mt.Gambier Speedway AGM this Friday, the SCCA AGM/Conference this Sunday and the Murray Bridge Speedway AGM next Tuesday at 8pm at the track (hope to see plenty of Sprintcar drivers, officials and members in attendance). The club having been working behind the scenes with tracks, drivers and sponsors to make Sprintcar racing happen this season. A recent survey of our drivers has seen... an overwhelming response to race. Obviously some of our SA registered cars are currently stuck in Broken Hill and Mildura, however, as we know, things are changing on a daily/weekly basis with this virus. I will update further next week as the club know more. Everyone is waiting on an updated calendar. In the meantime please read the updated information below from Speedway Australia. And please remember that your Speedway Australia licence is now electronic. Renew online as normal. Once approved, check your Speedway Australia app on your smartphone. You will also require email being sent to your smartphone.

21.01.2022 Good afternoon . Early this afternoon I had a conversation with the manager of Murray Machining and Sheds speedway Darren Shaddock at Murray Bridge and attention has already turned to next season . Next season the first major Sprintcar show will be the Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge to be run on the 19th of September .... This date has been chosen as it is the date of the first Supercars endurance round at Tailem Bend Motorsport Park and it is believed with the Supercars being on in close proximity that the sport of Sprintcar racing can capitalise on the large crowd that will attend the Supercars and also the media interest can have a real positive influence on the Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge . Sprintcars SA applaud the Speedway for this choice of date and we look forward to the event eagerly . Kind Regards Danny Holden President Sprintcars SA
19.01.2022 Joel Heinrich P2 Murray Bridge Speedway Saturday, Stoked with our first podium, never imagined this would be happening so soon. We rolled out in hot laps and the car was on rails and felt comfortable all night. In the feature we had a good battle with Jones, but I just kept sticking to my line and running the top. I’m super thankful and these guys are awesome to race against.

18.01.2022 Hoping everyone is staying safe. In these interesting times, tracks, clubs and race teams are gearing up for a new season. It will be a time of the new normal, with restrictions on tracks, to new electronic licensing for drivers and team members. For your Speedway Australia licence you will require a smartphone, with email forwarded to same and a Speedway Australia app. Hence apply as per normal for your licence. Once approved your licence, end date and categories you are i...nsured to race (for drivers) will appear - remember, if competing for example in Sprintcars, 360 Sprintcars and Midgets you need to apply to race all 3 and you are required to be a member of each club category. Sprintcars SA conducted a Drivers Meeting last night to vote on changes to the next SCCA Rulebook. Some drivers, team owners and officials attended in person at the Speedway Australia conference room, while others joined from SA and Victoria via zoom - another new normal. The drivers and officials were very enthusiastic about the forthcoming season, albeit, conditions and race meetings will take a new charter. Updates will follow in the near future. More will be known following the Mt.Gambier Speedway AGM on August 28, the SCCA AGM and annual conference on August 30 (via zoom) and the Murray Bridge Speedway on September 1. One interesting agenda item at the SCCA AGM is reduced fees for this season. As soon as I have updates (as club secretary) re driver fees and race dates, I will advise. This season will require a significant team involvement to progress with the sport we love. The following is an update on Speedway in Sydney.

08.01.2022 All Stars firing up With the Victorian Governments announcement of easing restrictions on the weekend we are excited to announce that Blue Ribbon Raceway will b...e holding their opening race meeting on December 5th. This date was originally a scheduled Series round. We have been invited by the club to be a part of their opening show. While the venue must run under certain conditions, with limited spectators and with Covid restrictions in place they are still keen to get the Speedway season up and running. I can’t tell you how excited I was when I spoke to the Clubs Vice President and we will work with them to make this event successful. We need to start racing so people don’t lose interest in our sport. We need to give our drivers an opportunity to get their cars out of the sheds and get life back to some normality. Drivers were equally as excited when I approached them about the possibility of running. says Mandy Searle. Current Series Champ Michael Tancredi, Paul Solomon, Chris Solomon and Jordyn Charge were the quickest to reply with how keen they are to get back racing again. Hopefully the SA/Vic borders will be completely open by then and it might give some of our SA teams a chance to come and have a run. Blue Ribbon Raceway held a successful Practice Day for all divisions at the start of November and now the season starts for real on December 5. See more

07.01.2022 BACK ON TRACK As COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease, many venues across Australia are pressing on with planned working bees, practice days or race meetings, gi...ving competitors plenty of opportunity to get their Speedway fix in the coming weeks and months. We will be providing regular updates for competitors via our Social Media platforms to keep everyone in the loop as to which events are running as scheduled, as soon as we have the information at hand. Should any clubs or venues consider running events in the coming weeks, dont hesitate to contact our COVID-19 staff (Liz Weaver and Ross Kirby) for assistance relating to any new government requirements. #weareaustralianspeedway
07.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Official Release: VR Media Thursday, November 2020 With a lot of speculation surrounding the start of the Valvoline Raceway Season, Management c...an confirm that there will be no racing scheduled at the venue over the December/January months. A review of the government restrictions will be made closer to February (around mid-January) and if favourable, an amended calendar will be released after consultation with the division committees. Whilst this decision is regrettable under the current restriction situation, this clarification has been made to allow race teams and their families to be able to plan their time through this period. We appreciate your understanding and support during this time. #WeAreVR --------------------------------------------------------------------------- **EDIT: Once again, it is quite disappointing to read comments that suggest that we will not be racing at all this season; we have said from the very beginning of the Covid Pandemic that we are 100% fully committed to re-opening and racing as soon as it is permittable and we are doing everything in our power to make sure that this in fact eventuates - it may not just be as soon as we would have liked.
06.01.2022 Just an update on racing in Parramatta this season.
06.01.2022 Avalon Raceway, Borderline Speedway and Premier Speedway Club JOINT PRESS RELEASE Re: COVID-19 Pandemic Due to the ongoing uncertainty with regards to the C...OVID-19 Pandemic and recent and continuing updates to Government Legislation and Law regarding this matter, the three host venues, being Avalon Raceway, Borderline Speedway, Mt. Gambier and Premier Speedway, Warrnambool have arrived at the tough decision to cancel all three nights of the 2020 Easter Sprintcar Trail as well as the supporting Easter Super Rod Trail. This release relates to events as scheduled for Friday April 10, 2020 (Avalon Raceway), Saturday April 11, 2020 (Borderline Speedway) and Sunday April 12, 2020 (Premier Speedway). This decision has been made in the best interests of all staff, competitors, race fans and race day officials along with the broader community. On behalf of all three venues, we would sincerely like to thank all of our Easter Trail Partners, Camden Signage and Building Services, the Ray Scott Group, S.E Fire Extinguisher Services, Anderson Bob Cat Service and the Gillin Boys Foundation for their amazing support. To our amazing Competitors and Fans, we thank you for your understanding during these difficult times and rest assured that all three venues are committed to returning to racing as soon as we possibly can. In the interim we urge each-and-every one of you to continue to take the necessary precautions as outlined for this Pandemic as we look forward to seeing you at a racetrack again in the not too distant future. At this time all on-line ticketing will remain suspended with all pre-purchased ticket holders advised to visit each venues website and social media pages for updates on ticketing information. Stay Safe Everyone.

05.01.2022 Good evening all . Just putting some initial feelers out to the public as to whether people would be interested in purchasing Sprintcars SA polo shirts . The shirts would have minimalistic logos and could be worn any where casually as per a regular polo shirt .... If their is enough interest in purchasing polo shirts the club will proceed . If you would be interested please comment in the comments section
04.01.2022 Brad Keller Racing P1 Murray Bridge Speedway Saturday, It’s been a long winter for us, so it’s good to get a win on the second race back. The car was comfy, it was quite a racey track in the end. A big shout out to my guys, crew and sponsors, there’s no easy win, even thou these are club shows it’s still hard to get the job done. Hopefully we can build on it and get some laps in this year and come out next year in a strong position.
03.01.2022 VALVOLINE RACEWAY SEASON UPDATE Official Release: Valvoline Raceway Tuesday, September 22... We are all living in uncertain times at the moment and trying to manage our recreations in an ever-increasing changing environment of Covid-19 rules, restrictions and regulations. All sports and venues are bound by any number of varying restrictions as to how they can operate their activities depending on criteria under the COVID Industry Safety Plan. Valvoline Raceway is no different to any other venue and is governed by the Community Sport Public Health Order updated on the 28th July, found on the NSW Government Office of Sport's Coronavirus update site. Whilst Barry and Felicity are committed to have racing commence this season given the emotion around it being the last season of the venue's operation, the current restrictions under the order make it financially unviable to operate. Border closures, regional restrictions, participant number restrictions, medical personnel, all play a part of allowing competitors, spectators, volunteers and staff to be part of a race meeting. Whilst restrictions are being constantly reviewed so will the season for Valvoline Raceway. Given the current restrictions it is expected at this stage racing would not commence until restrictions are greatly reduced which is estimated would not be until Jan 2021. Therefore, the season will be postponed at this stage until then with a review in November as previously mentioned. Should restrictions be relaxed prior to this date an immediate review will take place with plenty of notice given to everyone prior to going racing, which will also allow the sourcing of necessary personnel ie. medical. How the season will look once started will be part of the review, and all clubs will be involved in the process and once finalised - a new calendar will be released for public knowledge. To get the venue up and running takes time, and a number of external suppliers and operators along with race teams, volunteers, race divisions and staff all need sufficient notice to be ready. It is expected that once a start date is imminent, then a couple of practice days prior would be scheduled and then the racing would commence. Whilst management know it is frustrating for all involved, please understand that it is the intention of all involved with Valvoline Raceway to have the season get started and continue until the final ever meeting at the venue. Once we get racing, things may look completely different to what we are used to, however once it can be done safely and viably the season will get under way. In the meantime, please stay safe and watch for the November update when hopefully a clearer view on when we can get back to what we all love will be closer. 03.01.2022 WORLD SERIES SPRINTCARS CANCELLED COVID-19s latest casualty is World Series Sprintcars, with the 2020/21 series cancelled due to the ongoing uncertainty affect...ing the entire country. With no timeframe in place for the opening of the West Australian border, Victorias timelines for staging public events in December being uncertain, and Queensland reviewing their border position in December, its impossible for organisers, teams and suppliers to be able to plan and commit to a national tour such as World Series Sprintcars. Wed particularly like to thank the teams and tracks that had committed to running the 2020/21 series, especially the two new venues who were coming on board in Whyalla Speedway Club Inc. and Geraldton City Speedway. Theyll do a great job of hosting World Series Sprintcars when they eventually get the chance. We know that tracks, teams and fans are hoping for some good news, and we hope to be back with a vengeance in 2021/22. In the meantime, when regions and states begin to open back up we urge all competitors and fans to get behind their local tracks and enjoy regional racing when the opportunity arises. Planning for the 2021/22 series will commence in November, by which time there will hopefully be some light at the end of the tunnel.

01.01.2022 Sprintcars SA wish all drivers, especially our SA representatives a safe and successful final weekend to the Chariots of Thunder at Hidden Valley, Darwin. In R1 last weekend Jamie Veal had a commanding lead in the feature until he encountered an incident in lapped traffic, rolling himself. Steven Lines taking the lead and the chequer. In R2 Steven Lines would develop mechanical gremlins. Hence he would start at the back of the 'C' Main, however, he would transfer to the bac...k of the B, and then miraculously transferring from the B to the back of the 'A' feature. Albeit Steven was progressing well in the A, a RR puncture would end his night. Ryan Jones had initially taken the lead in the feature, dropping back to 3rd from Matt Egel, with Jamie Veal taking the win. Progressive series points: NQ5 Danny Reidy S63 Ryan Jones V35 Jamie Veal S13 Brock Hallett W97 Mitch Wormall Q83 Steven Lines S20 Glen Sutherland W25 Taylor Milling V42 Jye O'Keefe V44 Tim Van Ginneken Q7 Robbie Farr S52 Matt Egel (20th) S74 Daniel Pestka
