24.01.2022 Introducing Spruce Creative Co, a digital marketing agency passionate about bringing brands to life with strategic social media and creative copywriting. I couldnt be more excited to launch my new brand today but let me take you back to where it all began. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to run my own business. It seemed like an unrealistic dream. I doubted I had the skills to make it a success and I never felt ready to take the leap and become a solopren...eur. Fast forward to May 2017. I was newly married and starting to think about my future. I had a great job but the thought of running a business was still in the back of my mind. However, I still didnt feel ready so I put it on the back burner. In December, I was approached by a family friend to help them with the social media side of their very exciting startup (oh hey @b2meaustralia!). As I began work with them, I realised I was never going to get to a place where I would feel completely ready to launch my business and in a way, I had taken the first step with them as my first client, a step that seemed so natural. I didnt really have a plan for my business so I named it by putting my name and my industry together and thats how Tegan Mullen Digital came to be. Over the next few months, my business grew as I invested time in my own socials, engaging with others online and taking on some amazing clients. As it evolved, I started thinking about my business and its values. I wanted a business that was creative, innovative, bringing a fresh perspective to digital marketing. I realised I needed a name change and a complete rebranding. As I began the long process of choosing a name, I was immediately drawn to colours. After researching many many colours, I stumbled upon spruce, a beautiful green. I was captured by this colour because I felt as if it resembled everything I wanted my business to be. I also wanted to include the word creative as it is one of the key values of my business and how I serve my clients. This is how I chose Spruce Creative Co.

If hiring a professional photographer is a little out of your budget, why dont you ask your partner or a friend to take some photos for you and in return, shout them for dinner? DESIGN YOUR OWN GRAPHICS Yes, there are plenty of gorgeous quotes on Pinterest but Pinterest is not an image library you can source from (without permission from the original creator). 19.01.2022 So its been a little while since I last posted on Facebook. Thats because I spent the first week and a half of July in Chiang Mai, Thailand. A few friends and I took a flight to Thailand to run a program for ridiculously cute children. We spent our days playing sports, doing crafts and singing songs. I couldnt imagine spending my time off any other way A trip like this really gives you an opportunity to take a step back from your life and see what is really important. I...ve come back with a renewed mindset - to bring more intentionality, authenticity and creativity to my life and to my business. You can expect a lot more realness on my page in the future. It was such a privilege to go and work alongside these seven incredible human beings. I saw each of them get out of their comfort zones and as corny as it sounds, we went away as friends and came back as family It is so good to do something that pushes you out of your comfort zone, serves others and is good for your soul! What do you like to do thats good for your soul? Tell me in the comments
18.01.2022 Are you getting strategic with your hashtags on the gram? Sure, it’s easy to add a popular one like #business. But what kind of results do you get? I’m gonna say, not great ones I totally get how daunting it can be to wander through the world of hashtags, not knowing which ones to add to your posts. But with a bit of research and a whole lot of intentionality, you can make these hashtags work for you! Make sure you’re using hashtags with no more than 500,000 posts. Using... hashtags with any more than that will attract bots (yuck!) and limits your visibility. Find out the hashtags your ideal client is hanging out on. If you’re a wedding photographer in Perth, try using #perthweddingphotography Create hashtag sets by using hashtags from a variety of categories. A few of my go-to categories are location (#perthcreatives), business (#buildingbossladies) and community (#postwithpurpose) So how are you being strategic with hashtags to reach your ideal client? If you’ve got questions, I’m just a message away!

I...n TLC (what we call it for short), youll be supported by the best squad of women. If youre already in, you know exactly what Im talking about! Share advice, ask questions, collaborate and talk about anything on your heart in a safe, supportive community So what are you waiting for? Like seriously. 13.01.2022 This week, I had the pleasure sitting down with Yvette, one of the lovely ladies behind Fresh Conference for a social media coaching session. Fresh Conference is all about equipping and enabling women to make a difference. I went along last year for the first time and it was incredible! I highly recommend this conference to any Perth woman passionate about making an impact on their local or global community They are already doing such an amazing job on their Instagram (I ...mean, have you seen their feed? So aesthetically pleasing and such good content!) so we mainly worked on being strategic with Stories, hashtags and measuring reach and engagement with Instagram and Facebook analytics. I am so grateful that I get to work with the best people on projects Im truly passionate about What have you been up to this week? Tell me in the comments

10.01.2022 At the start of 2018, I was introduced to the concept of choosing a word for the year. Not just any random word, but a word of intention to live out. After much prayer and thought, I chose the word bloom and more specifically, to bloom where I'm planted. I had spent much of 2017 chasing the next thing, finding it so hard to just be. In 2018, I wanted to learn the art of contentment no matter the season of life I was in. And more than that, I wanted to thrive. I wanted to ...create something I was proud of in my business. I wanted to wholeheartedly invest in my relationships. I wanted to grow in leadership, in kindness and in gratitude As the days of 2018 rolled by, I was tempted to lose myself in chasing the next thing, comparing myself with those who were further along in their businesses. But time and time again, I was drawn back to my word for 2018. It was a gentle reminder to choose to bloom where I was planted and to not fall into the trap of comparing myself with others. I wouldnt say Im perfect at blooming where Im planted. After all, Im only human. But I have definitely experienced so much joy and contentment this year in every moment I have chosen to live out my 2018 word. How are you blooming where youre planted?
10.01.2022 How do you feel about you brand right this moment? Im loving where mine is at because Im infusing so much of my personality into it and Im showing you, my community, so much more than simply the services I offer. Im sharing my personality, my quirks, what makes me unique, why I love what I do and Im building real relationships with so many of you How am I doing that? Showing my face! Sure, its scary. It definitely took some time to get over the fear, out of my comfort... zone and in front the camera. But I have seen so many incredible things happen in my business (which I could go on about all day!) when I show up online. And I promise you, you will see the same benefits when you do the same (if youre not already)! A couple of weekends ago, my husband spent Saturday afternoon (thank you husband!), taking photos of me for my business. At first, I felt a little silly in front of the camera as Im definitely no natural. But as the day went on, I grew more confident because I knew that these photos would help me share more of myself and more of my brand story. My husband did an incredible job and I cannot wait to share the photos with you So how about you? How are you showing up online?

05.01.2022 I absolutely love new month feels. Especially when the new month welcomes a new season of warmer days and pretty flowers This month, Im getting serious about making plans AND taking action. Ive always considered myself to be pretty good at making plans but the taking action part is definitely my struggle. Am I right? After spending the last few days thinking, reflecting and journaling, Ive created an intentional plan for the month of September including one intent...ion, two habits and three goals: ONE INTENTION I will learn to rest well. TWO HABITS I will make seeking God my daily practice. I will wake up at a decent time to exercise three times a week. THREE GOALS I will finish the book Im currently reading. I will start and finish my business plan, marketing plan and brand script. I will learn how to cook three new dishes. So how am making sure I am taking action on my September plan? Im mapping it out girl! I find mapping helps because as I look at the intention, habit or goal, Im able to see the small steps I need to take to achieve them and then its up to me to go and do it. What about you girls? How are you getting intentional in September?
02.01.2022 I am beyond excited to reveal my beautiful new branding, designed by the lovely Mikaela Joy Designs. Over the past few months, my big focus in my business has been S T R A T E G Y . Ive taken time to assess where Im at and where I want to be. This has helped me create a clear vision for the future, values that reflect what I stand for and services that meet the needs of my incredible clients With Spruce heading in a new and exciting direction, I knew my branding needed a ...makeover. I hired Mikaela to design a new branding suite for me and she did not disappoint. Every element of my branding is an authentic representation of my business. What does your branding say about you? Tell me in the comments!
02.01.2022 Since being back home in Perth, I have found myself complaining a lot about the cold weather (and lets be honest, its really not that cold in Perth anyway). There are so many wonderful things to be grateful in winter and Im totally missing out It may be a little cold, but that means: - all my favourite winter scarves, knits and coats - thick socks, throw rugs and cuddles on the couch... - cups of tea and falling asleep to the sound of the rain Doesnt that actually sound amazing? this week, Ive been seeing the power of a shift in mindset - seeing all the things that make winter a truly beautiful season. More than that, Im seeing the beauty and joy in the season Im in - both in my personal life and in my business. Its so easy to complain and compare ourselves to others, leaving us feeling miserable and throwing pity parties for ourselves. But how uplifting is it when, instead of dwelling on what we dont have, we celebrate what we do? So heres to choosing gratefulness, joy and contentment in every season in life and business! Whos with me? Now its over to you! What are three things youre grateful for in the season youre in? the talented Hunting Louise
