22.01.2022 Any person with a sense of humour, with and without disability, is invited to explore the rich world of physical comedy and humour with Sprung!! this year! Not only do we run physical comedy workshops on the first Saturday of most months in Tintenbar but we are now taking expressions of interest for a half day weekly workshop in the Northern Rivers! (Venue and day TBC) Join us for laughter, connection, fun and creative expression through the unique art form of physical comedy.... The approach to physical comedy is based on a deep exploration on what is uniquely and personally funny about each person. This journey brings participants closer to their core not only as artists, but also as human beings. Physical comedy training for mainstream performing artists is in many ways focussed on liberating the individual from inhibition and shame to enable innocence and abandon in performance. Kate McDowell, Sprung!! Principal Tutor reflects "Sprung!! performers with intellectual disability are miles ahead in this way; their lack of inhibition in improvisation and performance is masterful. We hope to explore how to retain and channel this for performance, as well as how to learn from it as collaborating artists this year". Includes: Expert tuition by our highly skilled tutors Kate McDowell and Simone O'Brien (professional clown/ actors) Connection with other persons with and without disability who share a passion and love of clowning around Cost: Sprung!! is a registered NDIS provider. Please speak to us about including this program into your plan. Must be 16 years or older with the ability to engage. Register by emailing [email protected]. 20.01.2022 Our Senior Dance Ensemble have been exploring site specific movement - movement that is generated in response to a particular environment or physical place. Artists often us resources beyond themselves to inform the dance making process. What is 'found', be it a gesture, a phrase or a feeling can be taken back into the studio setting and recreated. The movement embodies a place or experience that is tangible and evocative. #sprung #sprungdance #dance #dancetheatre #contemporarydance #australianarts #australianartists

Sharing the stories the world needs to hear, 'O, How I Dreamt of Things Impossible' is a physically dynamic and hopeful work that reframes our perspective and shows that Impossible can be transformed into I’m Possible.
