25.01.2022 The team were excited to play in their last game of the season. Being a hot summer day, Captain Yasith chose to field first after winning the toss. Ayaan opened the bowling attack making it hard for the batsmen to score freely. Yasith provided great support from the other side applying pressure on the batting side, although runs were not scored freely we were not taking wickets like we have during rest of the series. The batsmen were determined to not lose wickets. The first ...change bowler Hemang provided the first break on his first ball with a yorker, this was followed by Christian also taking a wicket in the next over. Ayaan followed it up with a wicket on the last ball of his spell, finishing with impressive figures of 3-0-6-1, completely choking the batting attack in the first 10 overs. Neel provided fantastic support from behind the stumps as keeper, nabbing every ball that came his way. Ayaan and Neel switched keeping responsibilities at the break. The batting attack got a bit stronger after the break and 43 runs were conceded in the last 4 overs. The Albany Creek Grey Hawks finished at a net score of 100.Our batsmen were determined to put their new skills to test and ensure not to lose any wickets. Openers Christian and Max provided a steady start while Max hit some lovely boundaries, followed by Yasith who all remained not out. The team's score at the end of the first 10 overs was 39 for no loss. Determined to change gears and win the game Ayaan and Hemang started scoring confidently, followed by Neel who also sent the ball to the boundary on a regular basis as well as running quick singles and doubles with Hemang. Sarvesh came out at the end and scored 40 runs of 18 deliveries, ensuring the team wins. The team had a net score of 124 runs. This was a hard fought victory for the team and it was very pleasing to see the kids apply their skills acquired in the recent practise sessions. With this being the last game of the season and the team having won against every other team, deserved a celebration. Neel was awarded Man of the Match for his fantastic keeping as well as good contributions with the bat and ball. Ayaan was adjourned Player of the Season for his consistent good bowling, big scores with the bat as well as good keeping. Some tears were shed as the kids said good bye to their mates and headed home after the breakup party. See more

20.01.2022 Hi All, We were meant to have a tour meeting tomorrow night, however due to the uncertainty surrounding Victoria at present and the fact that it is the crazy first week back and many teachers are needing to get reports done, we will postpone this meeting until after our regular CSG meeting at 7:00pm on Wednesday 5th August 2020. We will resume meeting in the library and I would like to invite as many supporters as possible to attend and join the CSG group. Social Distancing will be observed as per the schools guidelines. Supporters who do not have children eligible for the Cricket Tour in 2021 are invited to stay on and be part of the planning for their tour in 2024 and beyond.

14.01.2022 On a hot summer's day and a player short, Captain Christian won the toss and elected to bat first. Hemang and Max opened batting to a shaky start, losing a wicket in the first over. What followed was a controlled and cautious first few overs with a few boundaries from Hemang to keep the scoreboard ticking. Hard hitter Sarvesh came out with an intent to change gears and continued his strokes from the previous game sending the ball over the boundary with perfectly timed shots, ...bringing up his half century on the last ball. His innings consisted of 6 boundaries and 3 sixs, that were a delight to watch. Christian at the other side holding his guard determined to not lose a wicket. Ayaan consolidated on what was already looking like a big score together with Neel, both running quick singles and regularly sending the ball to the fence. Ayaan unbeaten at 42 with 7 boundaries. The team set up a massive total for Sandgate Gators to chase. With a fielder short and opponents refusing a substitute fielder, Ayaan was handed the ball to open the attack and did not disappoint, taking a wicket on the second and fifth balls of the first over. Controversy erupted when the relaxation of bowling rules applied to the other team were not allowed to our team and 2 wickets were disallowed, however the team demonstrated strength of character and continued in the true spirit of the game. Ayaan continued the attack and took regular wickets at one end while Christian and Hemang supported with controlled bowling from the other end, not allowing the opponents to score freely, forcing the batsmen to play on the off side. Neel kept very well catching the ball of a very fine edge, whilst a few other catches were dropped around the ground by others. Ayaan in his 4 overs took 4 wickets and only gave 15 runs, fantastic performance by our opening bowler. Neel swapped wicket keeping duties with Ayaan at the break and continued taking wickets at one end, whilst Sarvesh and Max troubled batsmen at the other end. The opponents only managed to score 108 off the bat at a loss of 11 wickets to our net score of 201. Sarvesh was declared 'Man of the Match' for his half century as well as taking 2 wickets. 12.01.2022 U12 Cricket Report: St Paul’s Red 4/112 defeated North Lakes Blue 8/53 What another nail-biter! It was a one day format for our last match: 26 overs per side. Luka and Lucas opened & looked decidedly sheepish despite our season dominance. With the heavy morning dew, the ball was skidding off the synthetic wicket like an elephant on ice skates & both batters were struggling to get real bat on ball. After 15 balls, little Lucas hit the skids & was clean bowled. He always pu...Continue reading

10.01.2022 Final results are in and our undefeated U12's have finished 2nd on the ladder. A great result and an excellent season with some wonderful performances. Congratulations to all.

09.01.2022 St Paul’s Red U12 Cricket Report: St Paul’s U12 Red 6/240 defeated Albany Creek Falcon Hawks 9/77 & 3/106. St Paul’s won by an innings and 57 runs. Coming into this match, we were tied at the top of the table with the Albany Creek Falcon Hawks. To be frank, this was always going to be a tough match. As a coach, I have to acknowledge that the performance that the boys put into this game was one of the best I’ve seen in all my years of coaching. Adding to this, throughout thi...s season, we have won our games with our team numbers only consisting 9 or 10 players, compared to the opposing teams who have generally been playing with 11 players (and sometimes with a 12th man). We carried our match over from the week before (as we play the 2 day format). Albany Creek returned to bat on 7/61 (from 25 overs) to bat-out their next 25 overs. Quick wickets were deftly taken by our talented bowlers to wrap-up Albany Creek’s innings at 9/77 after 32.2 overs. Albany Creek then returned to bat out their 50 overs making a respectable 3/106 from 17 overs. Bowling Stats: Ryan 3/9, Lucas 3/20 , Noah 0/7, Matthew 3/18 , Aryan 0/20 , Sohail 2/30 , Ikshan 0/11, Luka 1/24, Manav 0/14, Hamish 0/14 St Paul’s then came back in to bat to build on our score of 2/124 from the previous week. Matty and Sohail built a solid partnership, with Sohail making a quick 16. Matthew saw out his batting duties to the mandatory 50 ball retirement. Hamish came to the crease solidly fighting for a nice 7 runs with some lovely stroke play. Ikshan walked out to the centre and put on a glorious batting masterclass with superb cover drives and solid defence. He ended up with 37 not out. It was the best I’ve seen him play. Manav and Captain Aryan were dismissed quite early but always give their very, very best for the team. Ryan came in and continued with the same fighting form he had last week. He raised the bat for 50 runs soon enough and ended up with an unbeaten 56 runs. We concluded the 50 overs with Ryan and Ikshan not out and our super-talented Luka, patiently waiting in the wings, in his pads, ready to bat. He didn’t get to go on, unfortunately. I suppose it’s a sign of how good our cricket is getting that we have players who could easily make 100 runs if they were given an opportunity to face more balls. It also shows that our other batters are stepping up to the mark and protecting their wickets. Well done, U12s! Thanks to Mr King for scoring and Mr Gupta for the warm-ups. Special thanks to AT for his work behind the scenes! Batting Stats: Luka: retired not out 67, L Mackenzie-Smith b 4 , Ryan not out 56, Noah b 3 Matthew 5 retired not out, Sohail b 16, Hamish cb 7, Ikshan not out 37, Manav b 1 , Aryan b

06.01.2022 Match Report 14th Nov 2020 U11 Girls After losing to Ferny in Round 1 by almost 60 runs, the girls played really well on the weekend and to come within 12 runs of winning against Ferny. The difference on the weekend was some excellent fielding, including two catches, a runout and lots of solid running between the wickets. 4s were hard to come by this weekend. But all the girls pushed hard to score at least 2 runs off well hit balls that stopped just before the boundary. It was awesome to see the girls continue to encourage each other and celebrate each other's successes. They are looking forward to all their remaining matches being at home.
