21.01.2022 This morning Nora brought in some Carrots that she she has been growing at home from seeds. The Orangutan children looked at the carrots, as they were still dirty and had their tops on. They cleaned the carrots, then cut them up ready for afternoon tea. Cindy and Ieshia then used the tops and placed them on cotton wool to see if we can sprout even more carrots to plants here at the service.

20.01.2022 Here are some great Summer Safety Tips from Red Nose Australia Keep your baby safe in the summer months with our top six summer safety tips. 1. Dress baby for the temperature: with overheating being a contributor to sudden infant death, it’s important to make sure your baby is not too hot while sleeping. Use lightweight breathable bedding made from cotton or bamboo, and if you’re using a sleeping bag, make sure it has a low TOG rating. 2. Keep baby hydrated: when the weather... is hotter, your bub may need more to drink. If you are breastfeeding, feed baby more frequently. For older children, make sure they are drinking water. 3. Be aware of the heat when travelling: Temperatures inside cars can rise very quickly, especially if there is no window shade. Take breaks frequently and offer baby more to drink. 4. Don’t leave baby in the pram: Don’t leave your baby asleep in a pram unsupervised or for long periods. Always make sure they are in a safe sleeping environment, even when travelling. 5. Be safe around water: Toddlers and infants can drown in even just a couple of inches of water. Always make sure young children are supervised by an adult. 6. Check your port-a-cot for rips and tears: When away from home and using a port-acot, make sure it is in excellent condition, with no rips or tears; and meets Australian standards. You should always use the mattress that comes with the port-acot, and never add additional bedding or mattresses into the port-a-cot environment. https://rednose.org.au//red-noses-top-six-summer-safety-ti

13.01.2022 Dear Families, Spunky Monkeys Covid-19 practices are regularly reviewed and updated where required. Due to the current status, we still require families and visitors to sign the Covid-19 Declaration at each visit. While we continue to have paper declarations for families at the sign in/out area in each room, we now have the QR code for those families that have the Service NSW App. This would need be completed for any family that needs to spend additional time within the serv...ice (parent/educator meetings, new enrolments etc). We continue to ensure our families and children's safety is always maintained at all times and we thank you for your patience during the uncertainty of the current pandemic. We will continue to keep you informed of any future changes.
