23.01.2022 Wishing all of our families and friends a very safe and Happy Easter, we are all working hard to keep ourselves safe and keep Spunky Monkeys a safe place for our children and the community. We’ll get through this together, thankyou to our families for their ongoing support, Happy Easter!
23.01.2022 A big thank you to Miss Karin who has generously donated 2 hutches to the centre, the children were very excited to help her put them together. Such a fun week has been had by all, some normality in our children’s lives. Stay safe everyone, see you next week!
23.01.2022 Spunky Monkeys Bangor are truly blessed to be supported by our fabulous educators and families. Miss Ebony & Miss Fiona have mindfully re-vamped and re-purposed some much loved resources back to life. Miss Ebony’s partner, Marcus has volunteered some time to create our new outdoor quiet area by re-purposing some pallets and Frank’s dad Brett, giving some of his free time to tend to some minor repairs! Thankyou so much for your ongoing support and dedication to Spunky Monkeys, you are greatly appreciated.
22.01.2022 Spunky Monkeys Educators share in sustained conversations with the children to extend their ideas and thinking. Open ended resources and shared communication provoke curiosity, intrigue and problem solving which provides a balance between child led, child initiated and educator supported learning.
22.01.2022 The children’s active involvement in their learning builds on their understanding of conceptualization and creativity. They are challenging and extending their own thinking to create new knowledge in collaborative interactions and negotiations.
22.01.2022 A huge thankyou to the Moffat Family for your generous donation of groceries for the service. It is very humbling to feel supported and valued by our community and Spunky Monkey family. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated.
22.01.2022 The children at Spunky Monkeys are supported in active learning environments. Our educators encourage the children to explore, collaborate and engage in problem solving which supports the child’s emerging dispositions of curiosity, persistence and personal creativity. Being involved learners inspires deeper thought processes, builds stronger relationships and makes learning more meaningful when children can relate to their current context. 19.01.2022 ZOOM time for our children at Spunky Monkeys! Our 1st Zoom interaction with Bangor Public School, the children were able to engage in a virtual tour of the kindergarten classrooms and search for bears in each of the rooms that they visited. We will be revisiting the Zoom meeting throughout the week to ensure all of our children have the opportunity to experience the ‘Orientation’. Thank you to Bangor Public School and the Gorilla classroom educators for making this possible!
18.01.2022 Easter is just around the corner; the children have had a lot of fun with some Easter activities We went hunting for eggs, had egg & spoon races, sack races, baked hot cross buns in the sandpit and just enjoyed being with our friends and teachers!
17.01.2022 Dear Families In this challenging time we are here to offer you support, if we can help in any way please reach out to us. All our educators are currently undergoing COVID19 training through the NSW Department of Health, we’re here to help where we can. The government has just announced an increase in allowable absences of 20 additional days. This will greatly help many families. If you are experiencing any financial hardship due to a decline or loss of income please log into... your mygov account and start your application for Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS). We thank every one of our families for your support of our educators and Spunky Monkeys. We look forward to seeing you each and every day. Take care and stay safe Kareena Approved Provider
16.01.2022 We are here to hold your child’s hand, give them hugs and show your children that they are in a safe place. We continue to engage in fun play-based experiences which builds on the children’s current learning.
15.01.2022 Please Stay Enrolled Today our industry is hurting and we need your help to survive post COVID19. Hundreds of families have left services, leaving thousands of early childhood educators employment future unknown. Childcare Educators are on the frontline, we support so many children where their parents are police, fireman, nurses, doctors, supermarket employees, all of which we NEED right now during this Pandemic. We hope soon when this is all over, when everyone returns to t...heir normal place of work, their studies or community work, we really want to be back here waiting for you. Spunky Monkeys has spent 13 years building a team of educators that we highly value and need, we can only keep this here for you when you return if you help us. For any family experiencing financial hardship we can assist you in accessing additional benefits (ACCS) so your child can stay enrolled with no out of pocket fees. For families that feel they need to self-isolate now, we can confirm families can now access 62 absence days without needing medical certificates during COVID19. The government has funding for our sector but we need you to stay enrolled so we can access this funding and be here when you are ready to return. If you have any questions or concerns about the information provided in this post please reach out to us. To our families, please stay safe xxx
15.01.2022 And our children’s world is still turning! We’ve been baking muffins, refining our fine motor skills, exercising with Cosmic Yoga and embedding sustainable practices. We continue to make life as normal, safe and stress free for our children.
13.01.2022 A few weeks ago Frank and Arjun planted some vegetable seeds! Over the following weeks we have cared for the seedlings, giving them water and sunlight to help them to grow. It was exciting to see some shoots appear and grow taller each day. Well, today we were able to plant our seedling into our vegetable garden, Zara even dug up 2 carrots that we had planted last season! We’ll keep you posted on the progress of our seedlings, hopefully we will get a great harvest!

12.01.2022 Our children see the world in many different ways, they have different processes of learning and their own preferred learning styles. To extend on the children’s enquiry about rocks and how they are made, we are exploring our outdoor environment through meaningful and deeper engagement. Can you find all the rocks?
11.01.2022 The educators at Spunky Monkeys are forever mindful of creating learning spaces that evoke intrigue and curiosity, but also safe for the children to explore and extend their independence and problem solving skills. This week we looked at ‘Risky Play.’ It is a time where the children could practice new skills and test their abilities and strengths in a supported environment.
