25.01.2022 This car came in with a lack of power and what we found was far worse than just that! It had no oil pressure or compression and the throttle linkage geometry was so bad it could only get 30% throttle opening! The rear brakes were leaking badly and the front left brake had odd shoes on it, the king and link pin shimming was a long way out as well! We will bring this gem back to where it should have been and probably better than the owner imagined the car could be!

22.01.2022 Please excuse us at the moment we are having major problems with this page. We have contacted FACEBOOK multiple times over the past 7 weeks for assistance to sort this out! Since the upgrade to the new FACEBOOK! Well all I can say is they should have left it as it was! Our case number is 1695746650582898 so far they have not helped at all and show no interest in helping either this is becoming very difficult!!! It seems we are not the only ones having issues with the FACEBOOK Gods!!!

21.01.2022 Spring has sprung and it is one of the best times to get out and drive! Hopefully very soon we will be able to do just that, and it will be not before time! We are all going a little stir crazy, so when you can get out and drive be sure to do it responsibly!

17.01.2022 Everyone thinks the more powerful and higher energy ignition system, the better it is! This is true too but you need to ensure your complete ignition system is up to the job! These 930 rotor buttons are all from the same car, it is fitted with an MSD 6AL model 6425 matched to a MSD 8252 ignition coil blaster, both great products but very potent. This car has been melting the resin in the rotor button as a result of overheating the resistor in the contact arm and as can be seen in a couple of the pics one resistor actually exploded out of the surface!!! This just highlights the importance of keeping suitable components together and having systems working in harmony!

16.01.2022 This week marks the 8th year we have been in our current location. In this time we have grown and come a long way, thanks to our valued clients! The first weekend which was the weekend of 9th September 2012 we had an open day, which was very well attended! Since then of course we have had many open days and Friends of Spyder has had many events . The future is bright and we have many plans for the future!

12.01.2022 It is back in place but we have plenty of adjustments and more rectification to do!

10.01.2022 Interesting use of electrical shrink wrap, some how I don't think it was ever going to seal the hoses! The things we find and see!!

09.01.2022 This project began in Sydney where the bodywork and chassis was restored, the owner at the time decided to sell the project. A client in Melbourne bought it, and now we have the job of sourcing a 2.7 engine, rebuilding it and then getting the car running. This engine was purchased as a dismantled unit. It has been quite a task in getting all the required pieces together during the lock down and covid 2020!,We are almost there though, machining is done and assembly begun.

07.01.2022 THis was how we found the cylinder heads! The valve spring retainers were rusty, the valve springs had no seat pressure, The valve srping retainers were of the incorrect type and the valve seats were brass and installed at the incorrect height, giving uneven instaled heights of the valves!

06.01.2022 I finally got around to getting a pic of the oil filter that was removed from this engine. I was amazed at what had been trapped .....

05.01.2022 While closing the crank case 6 of the 8mm case studs pulled out of the case needing to have timesert, thread inserts fitted! The problem was the day setback in assembly of the engine!

05.01.2022 The old and new crankshaft!

04.01.2022 As we all know the Covid-19 issue has been building at a steady rate over the last few weeks. We have implemented many strategies in regard of this, such as a good supply of hand sanitiser, paper towels hand soap and spray cleaner/disinfectant, we have been changing hand towels daily and keeping the required social distance! A point to note is the delivery time for parts has been slightly longer in some situations, this can be expected to increase in coming days and weeks.

01.01.2022 Before and after trimming the seat belt bolts, which were left long and unpainted by the guy who restored the car! We are progressing little by little everyday!

01.01.2022 We just had this little gem delivered for a client, can't wait to get to look under and around it!
