20.01.2022 We really are as Proud as Punch to be a part of the winning team that made up the Ken McDonald shield, the Square Meater breed coming first in this class. Sun...set Park Proud as Punch coming equal 6th in his class totalling 88 points on the hook. A huge thank you to Oakvale Square Meaters ( G & H Sewell) & Rosellinos Square Meaters (E & M Ross) as without your entries this would not have been made possible. Equally important many, many thanks to Johanna van Elten & Karla Cannon for your preparation both behind the scenes and on the day, Im very much heavily in debt to you both. 20.01.2022 Exciting news for the youth who so keenly love to show our Squares, with the launching of the Tony Cairns Perpetual Trophy today at our QLD Square Meaters Breeder Group meeting. When you receive a placing in the show ring, let us know your placing and how many competitors you had in your class and you will be allocated points. Once a year these points will be tallied and the winning youth, with the highest points, in both the junior (6-12 years) and senior (13-18yrs) sections will receive a Square Meater show vest, valued at $65 and medallion.

19.01.2022 A special and well deserved moment with Oakvale Square Meaters Gary Sewell receiving his life membership badge yesterday at our QLD Square Meaters Breeder group meeting. He previously received a commemorative plaque in February 2016, but the current board has recognised that he was yet to receive his commemorative life membership badge that he can wear with pride at any event. Thankyou so much from not only us in Qld but Im sure all of our Australian members are very appreciative of your many dedicated hours behind the scenes, your long chats on the phone about our breed, your thorough research and also for your undying faith in our breed. Wanted Beef Stud Connections for Toowoomba School I am in the process of starting a cattle show team at a highly regarded Toowoomba Secondary Schoo...l and would like to form a working relationship with a beef stud in the Toowoomba Area to commence 2021. We are not in the position that we can host cattle at the school so would be looking for a existing stud that we can help with grooming, breaking, preparing and showing of their animals. We would be looking at busing students 1-2 afternoons a week to help work animals and help out where needed. If anyone knows of someone that may be interested, please let me know as this would be a great opportunity for both the students as well as your stud. 14.01.2022 Ellen Moffat & Eric Ross, Kilayr Finn has been with us for 6 mths. 10yrs old, great temperament and longevity. He’s a great advertisement for the SquareMeater b...reed and a testament to your breeding and welfare. He’s been working hard for us, despite us wanting him to take it easy, and can now look forward to some well earned R&R for a couple of months. For those of you who don’t know, Finn had a great start to his career as a Stud Sire, winning at Perth, Toowoomba and Brisbane Royal Shows as a young bull, before kicking back on a diet including bread and Mars Bars.
