21.01.2022 In response to SA Health’s directives following the recent Parafield cluster, we will not be dancing for 2 weeks. We value your safety and fully support SA Health’s efforts to contain this outbreak. We thus will close for the 2 week period to Mon 30th November inclusive. Whilst it is disappointing to close again, we will do our part to reduce likelihood of transmission. We’ll update everyone with any changes to this and of course confirm when dancing can resume.... Can't wait to see you all again soon!! See more

16.01.2022 Announcement on future National Conventions. Our National that was to be 2022 will now be in 2023. A very considered decision by the Conventions Board that we fully support in light of recovery from the pandemic. For background to this decision see earlier post. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^... The Australian National Square Dance Convention Board (ANSDCB) is excited to advise that the National Square Dance Convention for 2022 will now be held in the regional town of Goulburn, NSW, 21 - 25 April 2022. The Convention in Adelaide will now be held in 2023. After consultation with past and future convenors and researching possible locations, we are pleased to announce that Jason and Leanne Nicholson will be leading a team on behalf of the Australian National Square Dance Convention Board to bring you a great dance experience in 2022. The committee will provide more information in the coming weeks so stay tuned for updates. We wish all of our dancing friends across the country a wonderful Christmas and look forward to everyone getting back on the dance floor in 2021. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

09.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT ON FUTURE NATIONAL CONVENTIONS FROM THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL SQUARE DANCE CONVENTIONS (ANSDC) BOARD Inc. Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, recent cancellation of two National Conventions and the uncertainty of timeframes for recovery, the ANSDC Board has been working towards a plan for Nationals over the next few years. 2021... The Darwin National was cancelled due to future uncertainty, giving dancers time to adjust their plans. There will be no National in 2021. 2022 This National was originally scheduled to be held in Adelaide. Due to a small dancer base in SA and the fact that they would rely heavily on dancers travelling and crossing borders, the committee have requested that the ANSDC Board look into alternative locations for 2022 to allow a state with a larger population of dancers to host this convention. This would allow for maximum attendance at our first convention coming out of the pandemic. The ANSDC Board have understood and support the committee’s request and have a working team investigating possible locations on the east coast and perhaps a modified format for our 2022 convention. Constant changes in Covid information and health and safety of dancers is top of mind and will make planning a challenge but we are confident that a National Convention will be held in 2022. 2023 Adelaide will now host the National Convention in 2023. Updated details will be communicated as the ANSDC Board and Adelaide convention committee work through the changes Future conventions NT and QLD are still planning on hosting conventions in the years ahead and the ANSDC Board will advise in due course of the relevant details and dates. All of this is reliant on trends in infection reduction, National and State regulations/restrictions, effective suppression and vaccine development continuing in a positive direction. Should there be a change in any of these circumstances, the ANSDC Board reserves the right to revisit the scheduling decisions based on the health and safety of dancers. We certainly appreciate the disappointment in recent cancellations and uncertainty that clouds the future. The ANSDC Board were consulted and fully supported the decisions made by the Blue Mountains and Darwin committees in keeping our dancers safe. The ANSDC Board acknowledges the important role that National Conventions play in the future of Square Dancing as well as the importance of keeping all dancers informed of decisions and relevant information as it comes to hand. More information will be made available as soon as plans develop for our future conventions. If you have any questions regarding scheduling of Nationals, please direct them to: THE CHAIRMAN Australian National Square Dance Convention Board inc. 07.01.2022 Hi Adelaide Outlaws dancers. No doubt you have seen/heard the latest update on SA’s lockdown. It is good news but bear in mind the restrictions are only lifted on Sat night to the level we were just before full lockdown. i.e Our square dance clubs will be closed up to and including Mon 30th Nov at this stage.... We fully support SA Health’s efforts to get on top of the current cluster contact tracing and that’s why we will not be dancing yet. (SA Health have actually said no dancing in this period.) It looks like the plan is to ease restrictions step by step to a point we were at mid-November so we will stay tuned to when our clubs can open again. Rest assured, we will contact everyone as soon as we have the go ahead. It’s looking promising so don’t pack away the square dance outfits!! See you soon
