Our priority has always been promoting the health and wellbeing of our members and of those we help. To do otherwise would go against the mission and values of our organisation, that is, to improve the lives and well-being of others. However, despite this, there are still ways you can get involved! 11.01.2022 ~COVID-19 Financial Support Infosheets~ There are currently many young Australians affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Action from government and other institutions is rapidly evolving in response. To support those affected, Square One Skills will be releasing free updates on financial support options, specifically for young people. These will be updated as the situation changes. Topics include support from government, support from education institutions, support for househo...ld bills, support for tenancies, and other wraparound support. They will outline options and pathways available for financial support. Infosheet #1: Government Financial Support, will be released tomorrow, with the others following shortly. Please note, these do not constitute financial advice. You should make your own judgement about what is right for you. Square One Skills is connecting with the MoneyMinded program to offer students the chance to become accredited MoneyMinded facilitators! ... What this means for you: Learn vital life skills relating to personal finances Make a difference to the lives of your peers by using your knowledge to assist Square One answer financial questions from other students Once trained, you have the option to become a Square One Financial Mentor. Mentors will work with students with financial questions to help educate them on the ways of reaching a resolution. If you want to make a difference and learn something useful along the way, this is the program for you. If you are interested, please email [email protected].

Our digital literacy program needs passionate volunteers to teach weekly lessons at aged-care facilities and Senior Computer Clubs in our community. You will be teaching valuable skills such as how to use email, Facebook, apps and more! You do not need any special technological background to apply, all students who have a basic grasp of tech we use in our day-to-day lives are welcome. 01.01.2022 Square One Skills is connecting with The University of Sydney Student Representative Council to provide students with assistance completing their Tax Returns through the Australian Taxation Office Tax Help Program. *Free Tax Help* is available to low income earners and operates from early July until the end of October at the end of the financial year. You are eligible for Tax Help in 201819 if your income is around $60,000 or less for the income year and you do not fall in...to a category stated on the ATO Website (see link).
