25.01.2022 ...and tonight the joining begins. Currently measures around 2.15m x 1.10m with pieces from 4 contributors. Final size will flesh out a bit when joined/bordered with black.

25.01.2022 First lot of knitted rectangles darned together into the next blanket .... Just tested length against hubby and I think I'll add another 2 pieces. Darning vs crochet joining is way faster!

23.01.2022 Drop off points for squares are currently Blackwood & Kent Town. Squares can be picked up by arrangement. Any size, any colour, any skill, any quantity, any wool quality (even any shape ~ I can make it work) - all will be gratefully accepted and crocheted together into a warm blanket.

09.01.2022 There's only a 30cm square corner to finish/join then I'll finally finish first blanket tonight. It's taken the entire blanket but I've worked out some "best practices" for joining and blanket #2 should be more efficient. Meanwhile my boys are testing it out. Obviously "wrong side" trimmings and weavings to occur also...

06.01.2022 I have been listening to an epic 33 hour audiobook whilst crocheting squares of late. How do you crochet/knit? In silence/watching TV/as a car passenger/with a podcast or audiobook/watching the kids play soccer or minecraft? Aside from silence, all of the above for me. I'm keen to add a monthly "knit & natter" "stitch & bitch" social session to my habit. Watch this space

02.01.2022 Joining squares tonight... Only about half way through (I underestimated joining time)... I leave the room for 2 minutes and the half completed blanket proved much too tempting for Delilah!

01.01.2022 I've been a little AWOL since the July holiday and then illness in the house. Back with gusto and wanted to share a pic of the mega square I've been working on made of a bag of donated wool remnants.... Some of the pieces were under a metre, the textures vary, yet they all come together well - I'm really liking this look!
