24.01.2022 Did you know Dolphins love to eat cuttlefish and have learnt to carefully prepare this tasty meal? Each creature featured on the stools and pavers around the Cuttlefish seat is part of the cuttlefish lifecycle. The coloured dots in the paving provide info about who eats who!! Thanks to Barb Murphy of EPLB and Shelly Paull of NPWSSA for all your great work. #dolphin #mosaic #publicart #functionalpublicart #educationalart #accessiblepublicspaces #cuttlefish #communitymosaic #communityart #eyrepeninsula #southaustralianartist #whyallatourism #whyalla

23.01.2022 Cuddle fish or cuttlefish? During the installation process onlookers could often be heard trying to work out what we were building. We’d often hear...what is it?.....its a crocodile....or is it an octopus? One sweet little boy asked his dad who replied with this clue well what do you do with your teddy at bed time? The child replied cuddle! The dad said that’s a clue the little boy replied in a confused tone ... is it a Teddy? Jodi How. Thankyou to Jayden and his family for sharing this great image of how to cuddle a cuttlefish. See more

18.01.2022 Honeyeater Casserole. The birds don’t mind what you use as long as it holds water. This dish is set 2m high atop a post amongst our sugar gums. It’s a favourite for many of the shy little birds like Weebills and Pardalote but today the bossy New Holland Honeyeaters reigned supreme. #bushgardens #nativeaustralianbirds #birdbath #ourbackyard #newhollandhoneyeater #eyerpeninsula

16.01.2022 An update on the bandwagon and a heads up to another recycling idea. We took our washing machine to be repaired at Truelight appliance repairs and discovered they recycle lots of bits and bobs including these nifty dishwasher baskets . I also discovered the enamel metal panels from defunct appliances make great kitchen splashbacks. Who knew the inside of a white dishwasher would be this delightful green ? #recycle #bandwagon

14.01.2022 Gotta love a good crab migration....there’s been a few crabs catching my attention lately ! Nature is amazing !

14.01.2022 Here’s a great excuse to not do the poisoning or the mowing this weekend!

07.01.2022 Thanks for the selfie King Basil and Queen Bella, looking good on the throne of the Cuttlefish. Penny Nolan #whyallatourism #whyalla #cuttlefish #accessiblepublicspaces

07.01.2022 I love to add little hidden gems in my work that might not be noticed the first time! These little fellows on the end of the Heritage trail timber bench seat are almost covered by plants now but that’s absolutely ok. #rustictimberfurniture #publicart #australiannativetimber #publicart #chainsawcarving #localartist #eyrepeninsula #rainmoth #natureinspiredart #lizard

07.01.2022 Cuttlefish candid camera! So good to see people & pups chatting with Craig and his friends. So many stories to tell and information to share. ( permission to use images granted) Penny Nolan

07.01.2022 Even our little bandwagon scrubbed up well on the wedding day. #tinyhouse #bushwedding #australianbushwedding #ourbackyard

05.01.2022 Bikie chick, no leathers, just feathers! Shirley’s actually loving her new fast food delivery job! You may well be wondering if I am actually doing any art work these days....well yes, I’m currently working on a large commission which will eventually be a gift for a very special community in Japan ( I can’t spoil the surprise) So meanwhile I’ve decided to share intermittent images of what else goes on here at Squashed Cocky Gully. #chooksofinstagram #bikiechick #happychooks #australianbushgardens #ourbackyard #southaustralianartist

03.01.2022 Frankly it was hard to leave this guy today but from the overwhelming positive reactions from everyone while we worked we are sure he will be loved by the folks of Whyalla. He’s been part of our life for a couple of years now. After 1000s of hours creating him in the studio, community workshops in Whyalla and a further combined effort of 200 hours from the 3 of us installing him, he’s now the new people greeter at Whyalla’s famous new jetty . Thankyou to everyone who has been part of this project. A space for all to join the conversation. #cephalopod #cuttlefish #publicart #communitymosaic #communityart #accessiblepublicspaces #whyalla #whyallatourism #swimwiththecuttlefish #localartist #eyrepeninsula #whyallaforeshore

03.01.2022 Perfectly peachy parrot ! We are very lucky that our soil and the climate suits growing stone fruit. We are also lucky that each of our fruit trees seem to ripen at different times across the season. #ourbackyard #australianringneck #growyourownfood #peach #eyrepeninsula

02.01.2022 Now for the next challenge! It’s time to turn these beauties into comfortable public seating without shaving off all their history. From rustic wharf timbers to smooth benches for the place of reflection we are creating for Port Lincoln. Thanks to @Lincoln Alive , raising awareness for suicide prevention
