24.01.2022 Finished. Silver, coloured titanium and 18ct yellow gold. Onto the next jobs
22.01.2022 Taken along time but finally finished
20.01.2022 Sorry for being quiet of late. Due to carpral tunnel issues i havnt been able to effectively work on the bench, as a result. Once the jobs I have currently are completed, I wont be taking on any more work. Its not a decision I've wanted to make but until i can get it sorted properly, its not feasible as time frames do blow out and very uncomfortable to do any work. Once sorted though, will get back into making and repairing
18.01.2022 One of the last for a while. 18ct yellow pendant with a 2.44ct watermelon tourmaline from Afghanistan.
18.01.2022 Another long overdue job completed. Came as a remelt job initially, didnt work out that way and had to send metal for refining, then alloy back to 18ct. Finished this morning without a hitch
18.01.2022 Righto, happy new year and all. Just an update on where im at. Currently in booked in for carpal tunnel surgery on both hands sometime around april roughly. As of this moment (well november last year), I wont be taking on further work for a few months after being operated on (and until dates are finalised, im in limbo so cant say when)... I imagine in the new financial year, but not sure at this time. Im sorry if this is a pain but not got too many options, its just a wait and see. And after years of putting off, i do have to have them sorted
15.01.2022 Tourmaline set. Just have to finish up and final polish
15.01.2022 This chain came to me to fix the stirrup (final/end cap, whatever the terminology ) which had crumbled away. I had replaced all the metal around the eurobolt, soldering it and the bolt back on. Job done, just to polish. Wrong, the open end crumbled in tumbling (refer photos). This is a pretty common thing with these sort or ends. The chain itself is pretty sturdy, but the cast end caps can be brittle if poorly manufactured. Painful, but they can be repaired usually and a fai...r bit less than replacing. These sort or repairs are usually a 1 day turn around as do inbetween more involved work. If interested, please get in touch. Cheers
13.01.2022 Sorry to say this, but due to medical issues (carpal tunnel) i wont be taking on any further major work until after I have this issue resolved. It could be well over 6 months before im able to start new work (awaiting surgery on one hand, if not both) and I will be doing a full recovery term after to allow them to heal properly. The work i currently have will be finished but wont be taking on any further jewellery work for quite some time.... I apologise for this but i need to take this time to sort out issues ive had for over 10 years, and bring myself some relief (anyone who has had this issue will understand the pain and frustrations that go along with it) Wish everyone a great holiday season regardless. Cheers.
11.01.2022 18ct yellow gold pendant with a 2.44ct Afghan Watermelon Tourmaline. Finished
09.01.2022 Still to final polish but pretty stocked with this. Qld boulder opal in 18ct handmade pendant. Will be available to buy
09.01.2022 Got these back from cutting yesterday. To give an understanding on how much loss occurs during cutting ive provided the start and finish weights on these stones.... For the most part, percentage loss during cutting is reasonable, with one exception, the small round sapphire has run at a loss (finished stone worth less that price of the rough, a crack formed during cutting). Still a nice gem though
08.01.2022 Sorry, but i wont be taking on any more work until further notice. I do have a large backlog of work and limited time currently.Sorry, but i wont be taking on any more work until further notice. I do have a large backlog of work and limited time currently.
06.01.2022 Old jedi trick. When you have to work close to materials that dont like heat, there are a few tricks that work. But sometimes the simplest solution is the easiest. Wet tissue paper around the item you dont want to get hot. Building up a bale on a mutli stone pendant
04.01.2022 There are a few ways to resize a ring, but this is the style i use. I prefer to use this technique as allows a larger surface area for the solder to bond too, making it stronger/more resilient. Resizes and chain repairs are usually quick turn around and can usually do within a day. If interested, feel free to ask and can give an idea on pricing. This is one of a number completed today inbetween other work
02.01.2022 Been crook and tied up of late but an ongoing job i got onto again today (plus a few other jobs as well). This one isnt finished and i wont show any further photos till after it is finished but this is a wax i carved amd sent for casting. I started fabricating the final parts today
01.01.2022 Arrived back from setting today. 18ct white and diamond. 0.40ct GSI1 in the centre
