20.01.2022 Today we remember Trevor Bailey A big sister weeps for the loss of her Lil Bro - each day hoping and waiting for the telephone call or the knock at the door..., with news. 27 years have now passed since Trevor Bailey's family last heard from him, 27 years in which his family have travelled this path of heartache. Do you know what happened to him? Can you help a family that have spent the last 27 years waiting, hoping, wishing for answers? 25 year old Trevor Wayne Bailey was last known to be living at Burrawong Court, Rocherlea Tasmania, prior to his disappearance on the 16th January 1993. Trevor had contacted his mother in Launceston by telephone on the 6th January 1993, and although it was never mentioned in conversation, it is believed Trevor may have been calling from interstate due to what sounded like STD beeps. Trevor was last seen at the Launceston airport on the 16th January 1993, and has not been in contact family or friends, or been seen since this date. Extensive police investigations revealed Trevor may have spent some time in Nerang QLD and possibly spent time in South Australia as well. It is also possible Trevor may have travelled to WA as he spent some time there prior to his disappearance. Police are treating Trevor's disappearance as suspicious due to numerous enquiries interstate leading nowhere. Although, it is possible Trevor may be using another name. Although not wanted by police, they would like to know where he is so they can notify his family that he is ok. At the time of his disappearance, Trevor was described as standing 182cm tall with a slim build, blue eyes and shoulder length black hair. Trevor would now be aged 52 years old. If you have any information please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 Note from Admin - I had the honor of meeting Trevor's sister and his nieces at last years Leave A Light On function in Launceston. His sister, such a beautiful woman, struggles with the loss of her little brother, the heartache so evident in her eyes. **Trevor, if you are reading this, please contact Crime Stoppers and have a message passed along to your family, they would just like to know you are ok.** **The following poster was provided to Leave A Light On for our October 2019 event and has been reproduced with permission by Trevor's family**

19.01.2022 All the best in those trying conditions.

19.01.2022 LIFE & DEATH ALWAYS HAVE MEANING... this is the DEATH MASK of a young woman who drowned in the River Seine in the 1880s. As was customary in those days, her cor...pse was put on display in the Paris mortuary, in the hope that someone might recognize her and claim her body. The pathologist on duty became entranced by the girl with the enigmatic half-smile, and so he commissioned a plaster cast made of her face. This mask was replicated many times over. She became known as "L'Inconnue de la Seine, or The Unknown Woman of the Seine. In 1955, a toymaker named Asmund Laerdal created what we now know as the CPR doll. Asmund wanted his mannequin to have a natural appearance. Remembering a mask on the wall of his grandparents' house many years earlier, he decided that the L'Inconnue de la Seine would become the face of Resusci Anne. So you see, this anonymous woman who drowned in the 19th century is responsible for saving many, many lives the world over. It is said that she has the most kissed face of all time. I hope you enjoyed this little tale! See more

19.01.2022 Please heed these warnings. We are always ready to help search for you, but we would rather be walking the tracks for our own enjoyment

14.01.2022 ***Update*** Police have located two of the three people from the vehicle of interest near Lake Pedder a short time ago. They have been taken into custody in re...lation to the alleged theft of that vehicle from Westerway on Sunday night/Monday morning. Police are on the scene looking for a third person (youth) in relation to the incident and hold concerns for them given the current weather conditions in the area. Police would like to thank members of the public for their information leading to the location of the people. **** Police are concerned for the welfare of three people who are believed to be in the Scotts Road area near Lake Pedder. Police have received information that a white Toyota Hilux registration E41AY may have been driven to the Scotts Road area near Lake Pedder on Sunday night/Monday morning. Police and family hold concerns for the welfare of three people (one adult and two youths) who may have been in the vehicle. Police are seeking further information with a view to divert resources including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to search for these three people, Acting Inspector Phil Curtis said. Anyone who has seen the vehicle or has any information where the vehicle may be should contact Police on 131444 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperstas.com.au Meanwhile, dangerous weather conditions are continuing to hamper a police search for overdue walker Michael Bowman in the Cradle Mt/Lake St Clair National Park. Three police search and rescue teams, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, a police marine vessel and a team of SES volunteers, are currently searching for the 57 year old Victorian man, who is an experienced bushwalker. Police also remind members of the public not to travel to the weather affected areas unless they are properly equipped. This includes people wishing to volunteer to search. Anyone who may have seen Mr Bowman in the Cradle Mt/Lake St Clair National Park is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444. In the north, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter will this morning be used to evacuate a father and daughter from Western Australia, who are currently near Pelion Hut. The helicopter will also be used to check every hut on the Overland Track including Scott Kilvert Hut, which is where a school group is believed to be located. Anyone who is venturing into Tasmanian alpine conditions should be fully aware of forecast and unpredictability in weather conditions. They should be experienced bushwalkers and have the right equipment. . . . #Tasmania SES #Ambulance Tasmania #Westpac Rescue Helicopter Tasmania

03.01.2022 Great news.... a Brisbane man bushwalking in the Lake Petrarch area near Lake St Clair has been rescued by Westpac Rescue Helicopter Tasmania a short time ago. ...The man, in his mid-40s, was evacuated and returned Derwent Bridge after activating a personal locator beacon this afternoon. The man is an experienced bushwalker but he experienced difficulties due to severe weather conditions, Acting Inspector Phil Curtis said. This reinforces the current dangerous conditions in some parts of the state at the moment and members of the public should consider their need to travel into these areas affected by bad weather at the moment. Meanwhile, dangerous weather conditions are continuing to hamper a police search for overdue walker Michael Bowman in the Cradle Mt/Lake St Clair National Park. Three police search and rescue teams, a police marine vessel and a team of SES volunteers, are currently searching for the 57 year old Victorian man, who is an experienced bushwalker. Anyone who may have seen Mr Bowman in the Cradle Mt/Lake St Clair National Park is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444.
