19.01.2022 UPDATE ON RANGE OPEN DATES/TIMES Unless otherwise advised, the SSAA Buchan Rifle Range will be open on the second Wednesday and the fourth Sunday of the month for regular shoots and the first Sunday of the month for black powder shoots, as per normal. The range will open from 9 am and shooting will start from 10 am. There may be a restriction on the number of benches that are being used so as to maintain social distancing and the regular BBQ is not likely to be run until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Big smiles all round now that the range is open again!

17.01.2022 UPDATE ON RANGE OPEN DATES/TIMES Hello members. Good news at last.... The SSAA East Gippsland Branch Range will be open for business on Wednesday 14th of October. All members will need to pre-book a time prior to attending the range. If you would like to attend the range and have a shot on 14th October, we ask that you phone Brian Bateson on 0488531098 between 9.00 am and 8.00pm and discuss with him the availability of a time for you to attend. Bookings will not be made from voice mail or text messages. Only members of the SSAA will be allowed to attend. There will be a maximum of ten shooters per session. Each session will be one hour with breaks of half an hour between sessions. Shooting sessions will start at 9.00, 1030, 1200 and 1.30. Shooters will need to be at the range 15 minutes prior to their session to set up. Once you complete your session, we ask that you please leave the range. Masks must be worn at all times and the social distancing rules need to be followed. (1.5 meters) Each group of ten must be 100 meters apart, so no spectators at the firing line. These measures will keep us compliant with The Chief Health Officer’s Instructions. Unless the rules change, the above arrangements will be in place for the 4th Sunday shoot, October the 25th. Bookings for Sunday 25th of October will open on 19th of October. Best regards, Steve Waddell President SSAA East Gippsland Branch [email protected]

14.01.2022 UPDATE ON RANGE OPEN DATES/TIMES The Buchan Rifle Range will be closed until further notice due to the stage 3 restrictions that will come into effect from Thursday 6th August for regional Victoria. We hope to open the range again as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

10.01.2022 As a LAFO I am so sick and tired of state Labor governments who have it in for us. Aren’t you??

09.01.2022 Hello members I am pleased to advise that the SSAA East Gippsland Range at Buchan South will be open for business on the 24th of May 2020. Due to the corona virus, there will be some restrictions but common sense will prevail.... Hand sanitizer will be provided at the range office and on the firing line, please use it. We have 12 benches at the line but only six (6) will be used on the 24th to allow for social distancing. If you are not shooting, please maintain the 1.5 metre social distancing rule. Please do not gather in groups of more than four and ensure you maintain the 1.5 metre distancing rule. Normally we allow each shooter to occupy a bench for two hours, this time will be reduced to one hour for our shoot on the 24th. There have been a lot of inquiries as to when the range will be open so we are expecting a large turn out on the day. Please be mindful and respectful of other shooters space and time, we want everybody to get the chance to have a shot or two. A bbq lunch will NOT be provided for our shoot on the 24th, so bring something to eat and drink. The Bruthen Bakery is a keen supporter of ours, so if you need to buy some lunch they have a good selection. Safe hunting and we hope to see you on your range.

08.01.2022 UPDATE ON RANGE OPEN DATES/TIMES Due to the COVID related restrictions still being imposed on the operation of our range and the potential for fines, license cancellation, etc. for breaches of these restrictions, our club has decided to NOT open the range on Sunday, September 27th. We are hopeful that the range will be open on regular days from the second Wednesday of next month (October 14th) and between now and then aim to have a plan in place to allow us to adhere to the COVID related restrictions while using the range. We will also most likely need to start using a booking system, the details of which will be announced at a later stage. We'll announce more details once things are finalized. Thank you for your patients.
