17.01.2022 A dirtbike riders view directly behind the 500 meter targets, the track is only 40 meters behind the targets. This is One of the signs you fail to read on this track, so unless your bike can do more than 3400 FPS or 2318.182 MPH and if it is only for your bikes sake don't ride it. All this taken into consideration you should take notice of the 19 safety signs put up around the safety Zone for all to read and do not go past them. there is one million acres out there to ride in some of the best trails you will find anywhere

17.01.2022 A big HI to all the people that like our page we will try to keep everyone informed as to when we can open the range up.

17.01.2022 As we had some people come to the Special general meeting on the 1st August that were turned away because they were not in Branch Q23. When you become a member of Sporting Shooters Association of Australia you are allocated a branch in the State you reside in, if you do not state which branch you prefer you will be put in Q00 which is only a float. You can transfer from Q00 to your preferred branch by getting in touch with your State Association. You can only attend and vote at a meeting of the branch you have been allocated. I hope this has helped to understand how the system works. At the moment we are putting a plan together for reopening the Range thank you all for your patience and understanding.

16.01.2022 Another great day at the Range for Field Rifle today there will be Rifle Metallic Silhouette on Sunday 18th October Rimfire and Centerfire. Q23 members only at this stage until we have more trained Range Officers.

14.01.2022 What a great turnout of members for the Rifle Metallic Silhouette Competition on Sunday. The branch would like to thank the members that came on Sunday and also for practicing safe distancing, The Competition took a little longer than normal as we were only able to use every second bench but it still went without a hitch. Sunday 1st November will be Combined Services ( Military) in the morning and Rook and Rabbit in the arvo. Only Q23 members at this stage as we only have limited Range Officers to run the Competitions.

14.01.2022 Hi to all of our Q23 SSAA Imbil Branch Inc. Members. Firstly, my apologies for the previous post which has since been deleted from the SSAA Imbil Branch Facebook Page. Some of this information was incorrect. In order to hold any Range Pass Card at the Q23 SSAA Imbil Branch Inc. Range, you must first be a Member of SSAA if you are not a current Member you can join here - https://membership.ssaa.org.au/ . Please ensure you allocate your Membership preference to the SSAA Imb...il Branch Inc., this is necessary if using SSAA Imbil Branch Inc. as your genuine reason for a Concealable Firearms Licence. The previous ‘Yellow Card’ issued by the Branch does not meet the requirements for Weapons Licensing Branch by way of proving Membership with an Approved Pistol Club. From 1 September 2020, Range Pass Cards will be available for both Longarms and Handgun. Should you wish to use Q23 SSAA Imbil Branch Inc. as your genuine reason to hold a Concealable Firearms Licence, you will need to be able to prove your current Membership with SSAA with a Branch Allocation of Q23 SSAA Imbil. As SSAA (Qld.) Inc. do not have reciprocal rights with any other shooting organisation, the SSAA Imbil Branch Inc. can only sign off on Concealable Participation Records for those Members who can prove they are a Member of SSAA. Should you hold a Concealable Firearms Licence and not be a Member of SSAA, you will need to sign in as a visitor and pay the appropriate fees in order to use the Range. Your Concealable Participation Card will not be endorsed. Range Fees are as listed below: SSAA Imbil Branch Inc. Range Pass Holder - $6 SSAA Member, non Range Pass Holder - $12 Non-SSAA Member - $18

The range is now closed but will re-open on Saturday 9th January for Pistol Metallic Silhouette and Sunday 10th will be Field Rifle. Hope to see you all in the new year stay safe and watch out for the big fella in the red suit.

12.01.2022 Q23 members. A big thanks to the members who shot Pistol today for your patience and help on the day, it just made the day go over great. Field Rifle tomorrow Rimfire and Centrefire. We had a good turn out today and it was good to see everybody practicing their safe distancing.

12.01.2022 Our car park out at the Range now that we had 17 dead trees cut down. The trees died I was told by the Bell birds not letting other birds eat whatever is on the trees that will kill them. We have a large number of Bell birds in the bush around the Range.

11.01.2022 Went out to the Range this morning to check everything after the rain we had and a light gold coloured Warrigal was walking around the club house he just sat down and watched me for a while and then trotted off to do his own thing. it's great that all SSAA ranges are flora and fauna sanctuary's. We have a great range of birds, animals and flora on the Range complex.

10.01.2022 No news on when the Range will be open yet it will depend on the size restrictions being lifted on 11 July by the Government

10.01.2022 Hi guys and girls it looks like we may have a weather event this weekend so keep a look out in case we have to cancel one or both shoots. If we have to cancel I will post on this site. Lets hope we can get our shoots in before the downpour.

09.01.2022 Hello again Q23 members, just a few things that came up at the state AGM earier this month. empty chamber flags are going to be phased in over a period of time (don't ask me how long) so it might be wise to start looking at getting a couple. Range standing orders are going to be standardised to stop confusion of members going to other clubs, also to be phased in, however one of the changes is going to be that you bring your firearms to the firing line cased which is the oppos...ite to what we currently do. I think that it might be a good idea if we try getting into the habit now. you wont get grizzled at if you make a mistake but if the range officer points this out to you please dont get upset about it. We were going to have a working bee to move the target shed onto the new pad but in light of Jasons accident at the range last week we have decided that it will be better to get a contractor in to do this job. For those comming to the range tomorrow be aware that there is now a concrete pad over the creek crossing so just take it easy and have a look at what change's there may be. Hope that you all have a safe and enjoyable day. See more

08.01.2022 I know it has been gone for a while but it would be good if the absent minded child that borrowed our SSAA 4ft x 4ft sign off the front gate could return it, by throwing it over the fence would do, that is if they have finished with it of course.

07.01.2022 A big thanks to the Q23 members who attended the Special meeting on Saturday 1st August, The Management Committee was elected by the members at the meeting and this Committee will continue until we have our Branch A.G.M.We will be emailing our Q23 members on the progress of getting the range up and running again. We will need workers if there is work to be done on the range, Thanks again for the Q23 members who gave up their valuable time to attend the meeting.

07.01.2022 Q23 members, Saturday 14th November Pistol Metallic Silhouette. Sunday 15th November Rifle Metallic Silhouette make sure you bring your SSAA membership card and your License.

06.01.2022 Q23 members. There will not be a working bee this weekend as we are going to get a price from garage builders to dismantle and reassemble the single garage, there is no shooting events on this weekend the next shoot will be Combined Services (Military) on Sunday 6th December. If you have built these type of garages and have your own insurance please feel free to give the Branch a price to do this work.

03.01.2022 Good evening Q23 members, you will no doubt be happy to hear that the load developement and sighting in days were approved at our monthly meeting on the 18th November. Don Smith and myself will RO the first shoot on Saturday 21st of November. The first part of the day will be load testing followed by a Centerfire benchrest for score competition. If the competition part of the day is not well attended then the whole shoot will cease and no longer be on the calendar. Start time 9am. As some of you will be aware we had an incident on the range where one of our members was injured. Please keep to the road and pathways when walking down the range. Look forward to seeing you at the range on Saturday, please dont come too early as Don and myself do not intend to get there before 8.30 to set up the range.

03.01.2022 Hi guys sorry for the delay in writting this post been busy cleaning up after the storm, I had 9 trees down. the service rifle shoot went very well it's been the first service rifle shoot that I've RO'd for quite a few years. We had 2 details shoot and Jason was getting a couple of hours training as an RO. Thanks to everyone for helping out with the targets it makes it a lot easier when we all pitch in. Next Sunday we will be shooting Field rifle 9am start, Russell and Steph ...will be running this shoot. Ray and myself will be away at the state AGM so if you have any quirries you my have to wait until we get back. Our next monthly meeting will be on Sunday 15th Nov. at 12.00 I will be proposing that we utilise the 2 Saturdays that we used to have as open days be used as load development and sighting in days with a competition in the afternoon. One of the Saturdays will be for pistol (probably the first one) and the second one for rifle with a hunter class benchrest shoot in the afternoon. If you would like to have any input come out for the meeting but remember to bring your SSAA card for your vote to count. See more

02.01.2022 Good morning Q23 members when you come to the range please bring your SSAA Q23 membrship card and license if you do not you will not be allowed to shoot. At this stage we are still only open to members. Just a reminder, if you do not have a range pass your range fee's for members are $12.00 As you are aware we are short of range officer, anyone who is suitably quallified ( you must have held your license for a minimum of two years)and interested in the position should contact the committee.

02.01.2022 Winter cold not here yet grass and weeds still growing so keeping up the maintenance on the range to keep it looking good for when we will be able to open up again soon I hope.

01.01.2022 Q23 Members, Just a thought, after you finish the Competition for the day walk up to the Range Officers and just say thanks for the Comp. and for looking after us as well, this goes a long way to us appreciating their valuable time they give up to keeping us safe while we enjoy our sport. They are the the salt of the Earth. No Range Officers no Sport.
