25.01.2022 Well that's interesting, its also one of the reasons we here at Inglewood had a show cause notice as to why we needed to be an approved NSW club by the looks of it.

25.01.2022 Next one might be better

24.01.2022 Did you know? The company Daisy Outdoor Products sold windmills and gave a complementary BB gun with every purchase. The BB guns became so popular that they stopped selling windmills and started selling BB guns. Have you got any strange, random or interesting gun facts?

23.01.2022 How good are our Council staff!! Thank you all Hi Tom,... I refer to your application under Council’s Community Grants and Donations Program for financial assistance towards the Inglewood Shooter Association Road Grading 2020. I am pleased to advise that Council has approved in-kind support up to $500.00 (incl. GST) for this purpose. It is requested that you contact Jeremy Frankel, Council’s District Engineer - Inglewood on 0497 779 277 to arrange for the works relevant to your application to be carried out. Please note that should the cost of the in-kind assistance exceed the allocated funding an invoice may be forwarded to your organisation for payment of the over-expenditure. Following the event Council requests that a short written report highlighting the benefits to the community be provided. Should this report not be forthcoming future funding assistance may be withheld. To provide this report login to https://www.grantrequest.com/SID_6086?SA=AM, click the requirements tab at the top of the page and click the form 'Community Grants and Donations Acquittal'. OR you can submit a copy of this report via email to [email protected]. I trust these funds are of assistance to your organisation. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Megan Boyd, Community Development and Events Coordinator on (07) 4671 7401 or by email [email protected]. Regards Goondiwindi Regional Council -- Tom Donald

22.01.2022 Time to put a proper flagpole in place instead of the ad hoc stuff to date. I did not set out to use the hand auger, but that is how it ended up. Thanks to Wal Shepherd for donating this fella 3 years ago.

20.01.2022 At the Wednesday shoot today, the Vice President Jim Spink and the Single Action Captain have volunteered to conduct any events on the Sunday November 1 that members may wish enter. It will be an adhoc day.

20.01.2022 With sadness I must inform the members of the passing of one of our members, Trevor Andrews of Bungunya. Condolences and Sympathy to his family. On Saturday, Trevor had a fall and did not manage to pick himself up before he passed.

19.01.2022 Getting set for the weekend

19.01.2022 Grader done, levelling done using railway towed behind ute, by-washes done. New flagpole needed, did not standup to the grader blade! What are thoughts on another flagpole at the entry flying the blue SSAA flag? If I have to cut one new flagpole a second one is not a big drama, actually we need 4 new ones, well that escalated rather quickly.

19.01.2022 Playing with an idea to secure our target frames on the pistol range. Instead of dragging logs and planks to anchor the frames from blowing down in a breeze I am thinking of concrete blocks at ground level with eye bolts in each block. The frames can be slid into the bolts at the front then slid back into the rear eye bolts. It would mean all frames must all be uniform in size. Any thoughts?

19.01.2022 Council In-kind Grant funding. The Council has rolled over our previous slashing approval plus approved grader work on the new entry and for protection the target frames by a blade of sand in front of the frames. It is really great to have a Council that will take that extra step for the Community when called upon. ... It was at our Monthly Meeting on Sunday we approved the motion to apply for in kind grader work and then yesterday there is a grader doing up our road, perfect timing as it saves hours of travel time, reducing the work time on the range.

18.01.2022 50 and 100 metre rifle range trimmed and part of the pistol range before the mower stopped. Madam helped me realign the markers for the Action Match gong setup.

13.01.2022 Now for the gate to the new entry, only 18 months since we did the dozer work, cannot rush things I guess. I am getting the petrol auger serviced asap! 12.01.2022 Just an update re a Grant Application being submitted to the Gambling Benefit Fund. This is for a 5 stand clay target layout, all traps are remote controlled and are on trailers enabling a variety layouts. This grant application will be decided in May next year. Hopefully we will be successful with the application and we can hold the Zone 2 5 Stand Championships later in 2021. To further our attempt to obtain this grant I have suggested to David McMahon that we would certain...ly be conducive to leasing these to surrounding clay target clubs in Goondiwindi, Texas, Warwick etc should they ask us. 07.01.2022 Now for a scotch, my knee and shoulder joints are quietly letting me know that tonight will not be much fun.

07.01.2022 I don’t think she was happy with the positioning

06.01.2022 This flagpole will cover the pistol bay area and the practical shooting area. Next job will be to replace the dodgy rear flag pole at the pistol bay area. I hate doing things twice over to be honest.

05.01.2022 Clay Target Comp scheduled for Sunday the 1st of November has been cancelled. It will be held again the first Sunday In December. Not sure at this stage if the range will be open next Sunday at all, update tomorrow evening.

05.01.2022 Ready to trial tomorrow

04.01.2022 Bit of a tidy up at the range this morning. Jim Spink is mowing as much as he can with near worn out blades. I have laid bricks as markers instead of timber for the firing positions on the Action Match gong event. Beautiful blue skies without a cloud.

03.01.2022 January 24th 2021 Sunday. Planning a colonial type shoot using black powder cartridge and muzzle loading firearms. It will also be our monthly meeting day.... The range will be open Friday afternoon and Saturday for those interested in using the range.
