22.01.2022 From the team at SSAA Sydney we'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas

22.01.2022 Hope to see you out at the range this week!

20.01.2022 SSAA Sydney Branch Inc. has been granted an extension of time by the NSW Department of Fair Trading to conduct the 2020 and 2021 Annual General Meetings together in 2021 due to the impacts of the current COVID19 crisis. The crisis will be brought under control and health restrictions covering large public gatherings will be eased. At that time, SSAA Sydney Branch will confirm dates for the 2020/2021 Annual General Meeting and provide an update when the new date is confirmed.... The safety of members, staff, volunteers and the general public is paramount so we thank you for your understanding in this matter. Matthew Geracitano Executive Officer.

17.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart that we advise of the passing of former SSAA Sydney Branch Committee Member and SSAA NSW Life Member David 'Billo' Billinghurst. 'Billo' as he was affectionately known at the range, served with distinction on the Sydney Branch Committee over many years. In addition to his time with Sydney Branch, David also served on the SSAA NSW State Board, was SSAA NSW Benchrest Discipline Chairman and SSAA National Benchrest Chairman. SSAA Sydney Branch offers condolences to the Billinghurst family during this difficult time. He will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of spending time with him.

17.01.2022 Greeting to all fellow Members. I’m Les Gardner and I am proud to have been elected as President of SSAA (NSW) Sydney Branch Inc. I thank the Branch Committee for having faith in me to continuing to pursue a direction for our Branch activities that was set by our last Annual General Meeting in June 2019.... Our Branch is some 33,000 members, which is the largest Branch in NSW. Our Branch has a reputation for being Loud and proud and it is my goal to continue that tradition. We will face many challenges in the future legislation changes, attacks by anti-shooters, political mistrust, poor communication, lack of consultation, poor interpretation of appearance laws, misguided risk management and an unwillingness to put members interests first. Sydney Branch has 4 outdoor shooting ranges open to all Branch members Silverdale, Holroyd, Hornsby and ANZAC as well as an excellent indoor facility at St Marys St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre. We should recognise that urban development will eventually impact on some facilities and we need to look to replacing those facilities. This will be an enormous challenge. In looking to the future, I often reflect on the following quote There is no past we can bring back by longing for it. Only a present that builds and creates itself as the past withdraws. We should reflect on that as we look to and plan for the future. I have been a hunter all my shooting life. It is time for me to give that hunting life away and focus in improving and strengthening Sydney Branch to build for the future of our shooting fraternity. Hoping to catch up with you at the range or at our meetings. Les

16.01.2022 We are pleased to advise that following updates from the NSW Government and easing of restrictions we no longer require members and visitors to pre-book range attendances. The removal of the online booking process comes into effect from today (Monday 7 December 2020) Gathering restrictions and social distancing measures will continue to remain in force. In addition to standard sign in procedures all visitors will also be required to complete a COVID Safe sign in document at ...each range. Please be aware that as a result of this, there may be the need to wait to access a spot on the range during periods. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their cooperation due what has been a difficult period of change. Your cooperation and understanding of range changes has made it possible for us to return to normal range operations.
